Tarn's normally easy-going demeanor evaporates, and the lanky Barbarian raises his voice: "Don't talk to me about the Guild of Invision. I have no time for those alchemists. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should!"

He then looks around, slightly embarrassed by his outburst.

"Uhmm..." Althior says, looking around. He turns to Finnegan, "Have I done something wrong?"

"That Chicken is glaring a me..."

"How do you know? You don't have eyes!"

"It's a gut feeling."

Tarn forced his voice into a whisper and apologised to his Mage friend. "Sorry, Althior. Our Quest was successful but wouldn't have even been necessary had those with power and knowledge thought harder about the consequences of their actions."

..."How's it a gut feeling? You have no organs!"

"I'm pretty sure a gut is a muscle."

"I thought it was just a slang term!"

Althior hears Tarn's apology and smiled. "No need my friend! I've had some things going on in my head as well." He thought to himself. Just as much as the things I've forgotten.

McCafferey tilted her head curiously towards the blue thingy. Atramor just rolled his eyes at its 'master'.

"Mr. Moustache."

He thanks Tarn for the drink, and sips it.

Atramor grins and sucks down his entire drink, ordering another round.

"You don't get into a drinking contest with a former pirate. That's just asking to wake up in bed with Scheherazade, mate."

He looks around to make sure the barmaid didn't hear him.

"Finnegan! Get me five more drinks! I'll show this rogue who the best drinker around is!"

"Meep."

Atramor continues drinking, going through glasses like nobody's business. McCafferey wishes she could talk, to bet with the Blue Thingy on who would win. A year's worth of corn just within reach....

"Gettin' dizzy yet? No? Will soon."

Arasmyth nods at his former Questmate. "Yes, the Emorith family is well known for their facial hair magicks in elven circles. Most ridicule them as unshaven barbarians, but I have a certain appreciation for beards and mustaches, as you can see." he says, sroking his beard lovingly. He glances up as a Hinckwell commodore challenges the Knights and Clerics of Heroica to join his Quest. Arasmyth hoped he would be able to join Quest 17 the most of any of the currently posted Quests, and felt that his good reputation among the Hinckwell family gave him a better chance than most to be chosen.

Skrall shifted in his seat, he had dozed off for quite a while and now found that the hall had emptied quite a bit. He decided to stretch his legs and took a short walk around the hall, stopping by the quest board to glance at the new advertisements. Right after close spaces, water was another of Skrall's phobias and thus he despised any quest that would involve any sea travel. Skrall glanced at the last posting, starting a riot seemed more up his elder political nut-case brothers' alley, besides they wasn't even a reward posted. It was true that his last quest had paid him quite nicely, but couldn't he at least have a chance to spend a little money on himself, besides he still had child support to send back home and taking on a charitable quest would definitely not excuse the monthly deduction from his purse. On the other hand, Skrall thought back to the many times he had witnessed oppression of the green skinned kind in his younger days, true the humans had been the cause behind it, but suffering was suffering and cruelty was evil no matter what shade of skin it came from. Maybe he was still living in the past, maybe this was a cause worth fighting for. Maybe there was more to life than child support, free ale, and living for the moment. "Sheesh," Skrall thought to himself, "I'm startin' to sound like one of my philosiphyin' sisters." Skrall shrugged, took up a nearby pen and wrote his name underneath Quest #19: Let's Start a Riot. With that Skrall walked back up the stairs and seated himself a short distance away from the growing mountain of tankards, mugs, goblets, flasks, and flagons that veiled Atramor and Althior from his sight.

Tarn watches his friends Atramor and Althior have a drinking contest, and decides, rather unwisely, that he should join in. He necks several tankards of ale before falling into the large form of Skrall the Ranger sat nearby.

IC: De'kra sat alone, hiding from the light of the sun. The light still mocked him as it always had, but at least it didn't bring up what had happened in Quest 4. How could the Shadeaux so calmly start a war? So many innocents would die! It was like no one in power in this city cared about the people! A child prodigy was viciously murdered, yet only one person noticed. That person ironically was a Shadeaux from what the Quest Records claim, so perhaps not all of that house was bad. And if that Nuitan grew to be a major member of his house, perhaps things might get better. But does this city have those years to wait?

"No," said De'kra softly, "It Island not I islands. In I islands six houses exist, but six houses all allies and work to protect island's people. Eubric not home at all, home nothing like Eubric. Home nothing like Uland. Some parts like Uland parts, but I better other whole of Uland."
