But yeah, three archdemons have now been vanquished, Abraxas and Marilith are at large somewhere in Eubric, and the archdemons of Sloth and Lust have yet to be revealed.

And once they're all dead you, Zepher, Endgame, Scubacarrot, Waterbrick Down, Kintobor, Flipz, and CallMePie will work together on a nine-part multiquest that ends the Wolfgang, Mercuton, Old Gods, Progg/Oculoid, and Pandenomicon story arcs, aren't you? not entirely :sarcasm_smug:

You sure you want Flipz to work on it? With a quest that big it might not be done by the end of the century. :look:

It would have been out a lot sooner if I wasn't such a perfectionist. All the sets are built, and I could probably get avatar-shots of the last NPCs I need over the weekend. The problem is that I'm having trouble with rendering and preparing the crowd scenes I need.

Don't talk to me about rendering. I want to physically murder the people who make POV-Ray. And also LDD because Max graphics aren't available for a 4Gb graphics card apparently!

But I'm getting the sets done faster than with real LEGO because there's less looking-for-parts involved :sceptic: Still. POV-ray always sets the camera to the back of the MOC and I can't set it otherwise....

But my quest should be ready pretty soon as long as I don't get distracted.... Which I will.

A full reread of Quest #44 reveals this, among a few other cool things:

As Nerwen and Guts are arguing loudly, the rest of the party splits up to search the temple. Dreyrugr thinks of checking the stone tablet that the black grimoire laid on, but apart from a carving of an ornamental crescent moon, it is just an ordinary piece of stone.

The ruined temple has many doorways and staircases, but none of them seem to lead anywhere except to more doorways and stairs. The most interesting thing they find is three large seals painted onto the floor of a hall. Some of the symbols on the magical seals are elvish, and only one of them remains intact. The seal painted with purple on cracked tiles reads "ABRAXAS THE PROUD", the white cracked seal says "MEPHISTO THE HUNGRY", and the third, unbroken seal has the name "MARILITH THE VENGEFUL" written with red. It is as Sycamore Ziegfried told them: three archdemons used to guard the temple, but with Abraxas loose somewhere under Eubric and Mephisto banished back to his maker, only one of them remains now.

Search and shout as they may, the heroes are unable to find any trace of William Harkenshire or Namyrra Uq.

Just thought it might be interesting to those following the Pandemonicon Arc. And now to trudge through #53... It's so long, and I've read it twice before I think (and I still don't remember/understand it... Damn you and your convoluted storylines, Zeph) .

Luckily, from all the Quests I haven't done over the years I have amounted a small collection of sets that will make future quests easier.

Yeah I'm reusing some of the pictures from the cancelled you know what quest for my new upcoming one

Are the models and pictures for Q95 coming along ok? I fear I made the newest one a bit too nauseous.

They've been quite decent thus far. There are one or two that I actually like a lot. :classic:

At least my eyes don't hurt.

Alright, I think I'll talk about 91, because it was a mess of a quest. I'm deeply sorry for what happened over the quest, the delays were brutal, and many of them I couldn't see coming. I at least hope you could tolerate it and have a good time. I also want to thank Flipz. Honestly, you saved my rear end countless times, and I'm grateful for what you did for me. You're a good buddy, and nothing I say can truly show how honestly thankful you were there to help me out to run those rounds. Phew, enough of that, lets get this overview dealt with.

Overall:

I intended to host a Ji Pei quest due to the fact that there really wasn't a lot of Ji Pei quests. Same with Bonaparte, and I do intend to run a Bonaparte one off at some point, but I had a more concrete idea for a Ji Pei quest then I did a Bonaparte one. I thought a delivery involving an important item being stopped by various other houses would be interesting, so I cooked up the Vibrataphone, and decided that the Wolfgang and Hinckwell's would be ample groups to take it, the Wolfgang to assist the Hovels and get a legitimate source of income, and the Hinckwells since they wanted exclusive rights to the item. Of course, the party gave it to the intended group, so they got the added minstrel song reward.

I'm not all that happy with the quest. The delays, the black out, my grandfather, it was just problem after problem after problem. I felt as if it got repetitive after a while, and my attempt to spruce things up with a puzzle didn't help either. I also wanted to build the lobby for the Tritech Headquarters, and that never got made due to everything that went on during the last week or so. At least it's done, and I can move on. If there's one thing I did enjoy, it was the Wolfgang battle. It was hard as nails, and I could tell with you guys getting knocked about. I felt like Endgame! In particular the Changeling was a lot of fun, and I hope to throw some more at a party eventually. It was neat seeing a party basically get tossed around by their own special attacks! :snicker:

I may do character write ups in a bit, we'll see. I want to hear what others have to say first, but thank you for dealing with me and my life for the past two months, and I hope to QM you again! :classic:

I felt like Endgame!

Why, because of the battles or being slammed by endless delays?

I liked what I saw, Kintobor - mentioning length would be beating a dead horse, so I'll just cover other aspects.

The battles were well made, but i can't help but feel that their position in the quest should've been reversed. I realize I was the one that you ran the second battle past, but I figured a slightly de-escalating difficulty curve would be better than a TPK. Nonetheless, the battles were great to watch.

Characters were quirky and fun as always, though I do wish Nicole had some more screentime, everyone felt fleshed out enough relative to their screentime.

Oh, and I did like the puzzle, though it was on the easy side. :sweet:

I would like to apologize for not being able to post as often as I needed too. I should have given better warning, before it became too much of a habit. So I am sorry for slowing the quest down.

Since I think the parkour chase scene is over, how do you all think it went? I think that if I do it again, I'll reverse the rolls; enemies chasing heroes.

It was certainly an interesting mechanic, and props for originality. I'd debate on the agility of all rogues though. That's what makes rogues such an appealing class, because it encompasses so many character types. Charming, loveable con artists, acrobatic pickpockets (like Karie), and just straight up thugs. I think I would have made it a bit more versatile for different classes, but what I saw was an excellent first run through of a rather interesting mechanic. I thought it was neat! :classic:

Animutilav was established in 48 - the spell that tore The Regret's soul to shreds, spreading his being across several planes - to the point where the other fragments of his soul rendered him literally incapable of dying, much to his despair.

It is absolute agony, and he is lucky that he managed to survive it; most anyone would've died and been reduced to nothing. Only through sheer willpower did The Regret manage to tether a piece of soul to his body and endure.Being a Progg, a creature of the Lifespark, helped as well.... A human probably wouldn't have the capacity to survive it.

Why would he have such a scroll on him? I mean if he was a miner, it doesn't seem to make much sense... :sceptic:

Stole it from his slavemasters because revolt was brewing. (There was a lot of easy to miss stuff in his monologue from 48. ) He may have had a future in magicks ahead of him even if he didn't tear up his soul - after all, he was forced into mining things as a slave.

Now that it's finally wrapped up completely, thank you for the quest Kintobor. You already know where you can improve, but I will agree with my questmates who have said that it was dragged on for only two battles. It would have been nice to have some other sort of dialog or something to keep it interesting (the puzzle and encounter with your NPC were very brief). I liked the character interaction between the party, even if it was sparse. Some sort of situation to keep that going would have been nice as well.

There wasn't a whole lot of plot either, and that would be totally fine if the quest took only a month or so. I like short quests and you don't need a big plot to make them happen, but you do need punctuality. I'm guilty of this too, for having been gone for over a week in January and sometimes forgetting to post my actions otherwise. However, it also helps if the QM is engaged to get the players engaged. Maybe that had to do with the quest consisting mainly of dice rolling, because I haven't seen such a problem with your other quests (Grim Grinning Ghosts was a great read, and I've casually followed your newest one so far).

Overall, I think better planning and punctuality would have resulted in a much better quest, but I was glad I went on it. I'm also very grateful for the NPC interaction for Hybros at the end. Hopefully if you continue planning your Bonaparte quest you will take this experience into account. :classic::thumbup:

Kint, same as everyone else. Punctuality. But it's already been said, so that's all I'll say on that.

I felt a better structure could have helped the quest - I liked the Wolfgang fight a lot, but the Hinckwell one seemed unnecessary story-wise and didn't add nearly as much RP. My other big complaint was the Shadow Sister... why was she there? What purpose did she serve? It's a danger with those of us with bigger stories to tell, and it's something I struggle with also, but it's my belief that behind a rare hint and poke, every event in a quest should serve THAT quest, not some other one. It felt like it was setting something up, but never came back, so it was a day or two of cameo with no pay-off.

Some sort of "Boss Fight" would have helped a lot too. I feel like we didn't really accomplish much of anything, truth be told. Get mcguffin A from Point B to Point C and fight random group of mercenaries D and E? Random events are good, but they generally should have some structure mixed in. I'd look at WBD's 54 - we had a randomish fight at the docks, but only because we needed to GO to the docks for the bigger story. We had a fight outside the tailors, but that's because the tailor itself was a goal. There was more than Point B and C, you know?

BUT, as always you served up a nice quest and I'm very thankful. I greatly enjoyed the Wolfgang fight, and I really love when Boomingham runs into the Wolfgang as a whole because I don't think he knows exactly how he feels about them or how to deal with them. I'm glad you let me severe an arm, and I hope it comes back later. The characters in the first fight were great, the characters in the second fight seemed great but never got the chance to shine. It was a fun time, and hopefully I'll be back some time!!
