UsernameMDM Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I was totally fine until two extremely unlucky special damages knocked me out. After that, it was out of my hands. So your strategy didn't take into account Special Damage? Hmm... I'm not sure if you realize it, but this is not life. I wasn't aware of that! Thanks for the clarification! It seems that you want your fake life PC to be rewarded and so are using your real life attitude to punish those around you for not getting what you want. Pitching a fit is pitching a fit, whether you do it in person or on a keyboard through a PC. Quote

Pitching a fit is pitching a fit, whether you do it in person or on a keyboard through a PC. People have differing opinion on revivals and play styles, that's all. We've known this in the past. Some things could have been done to mitigate the situation in the battle, but weren't so hopefully it'll serve as a learning experience to all. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 snip Now you're just being offensive. I would write an eloquent response to your childish problems with me that have no doubt roots in the fact that you don't like me and that is totally fine, but you know, I don't feel like doing that. If you want to be a jerk on the internet, go be a jerk on the internet on reddit or something. Not here. Quote
Darkdragon Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 RE: Guts/Scuba incident... I probably wouldn't have interfered as a QM, except that I totally understand that it was already getting out of hand with the discussion betwween the two players (when i opened up EB to 18 new posts in that thread I was @.@). It really would have delayed things and created a possible mess for 3 quests' worth of QMs and players. I think the QM did the right thing in this case to stop things from getting out of hand on the RP front and it was a rediculous thing to begin with. If guts/scuba is that worried about being knocked out, he should be giving a PE to each team member to hold onto with the caveot that if he goes down will they please raise him. For my party, we are in need of all our PE we can because half the party is new and get knocked out easily. We can't afford to use them just so someone who wants to level up can get the exp. They are for emergency only, there is no telling when we can get more and half of us are too poor to even afford them. Quote

That would probably be a dream come true for you, but alas, I really don't care. Care enough to respond to the topic? Yes. Care enough to foam at the mouth with unbridled hatred for you? Not even on my worst day. If you want to be a jerk on the internet, go be a jerk on the internet on reddit or something. Not here. Are you talking to yourself in the mirror? How have any of my comments been 'jerk'? Reviving should be used for strategic purposes for the benefit of the entire party when resources are tight. Quote

Scorpiox Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 I stand by my initial action. People would have gotten their loot. Eventually. You know I am not going to keep it for myself, how long have we been playing this game? QM interfering, and with this incident included, is things I wouldn't want. I doubt you'd like it very much if I did anything of the sort in my quest. Pro tip: Don't cheat people out of experience. It's wasting their time in the quest. Loot is bonus, experience is expected. Who was cheating Guts out of experience? Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 (edited) There's a level of experience as reward for the quest, so you are guaranteed to get to level 30 unless the quest is failed. All I can say is that it was a dick move, that you've rectified, so the matter is over and everyone forgiven. Now that's all over Let's go back to praising Qm's for the lovely quests they provide. Also, K-nut, you're up to host the arena rounds for me and Flipz. If not, can somebody else please run the rounds? Edited March 19, 2014 by Pyrovisionary Quote
Palathadric Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 Also, K-nut, you're up to host the arena rounds for me and Flipz. If not, can somebody else please run the rounds? I would love to host the arena fight, it could be an interesting QM prep, but I might screw you both over too much. Quote
Pandora Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Any more heated disputes or unpleasant words, and I will haul the disputers (plural) away for mediation. Whether or not they are playing in or hosting a quest. If you must argue then go and do so in private, but do so at your own risk. Quote

Speaking of which, I'm planning on hostng a lot over the summer. I wish I could be more active right now, but I practically live on mobile. I feel kinda bad of not contributing as much as I used to, but hopefully I'll br back fully soon. Quote

Endgame Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Out of curiosity, how often do people even use a quest's rewards to judge whether or not they should sign-up? I never look at the quests rewards, and even forget what rewards my quests give. Quote
Emjajoas Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I normally just go on quests that seem interesting, regardless of the reward. *Shrug* Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I usually don't care about the reward, unless there's something I need like a bunch of gold, then it goes higher on my preferred list. Quote
Flipz Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I normally put higher emphasis on story and QM, but reward does play a factor. It depends, really, though in the end QM is the biggest one for me. Someone like Sandy can get away with hosting Quests with no monetary reward (44 and the Guild of Invision one), because we know that a.) the loot will be really good, and b.) they're just plain Worth It, whereas I'd need to see a pretty hefty reward to be interested in certain QMs' Quests, simply because I'm not a fan of their style. That said, offering an Expert Class is a surefire way to pique my interest. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 QM & Reward (in that order). Story is just a bonus. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 QM and concept of the quest. Reward, not important at all. Except if it's something very special, and reputation might sway me one way or the other. Quote
Kintobor Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I try and get on other QM's quests, but I'm so integrated with Endgame's plots that it's so hard not to go on one of his quests! Quote
Capt.JohnPaul Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 This cool idea just popped into my head... I'm not sure if it will work but let's hear some thoughts. Suppose in a quest the party stumbles upon a pile of LEGO bricks and they have to build something out of it Then the player would make a model or something iut of physical bricks (using only a limited amount of pieces seen in the picture) and theh would post it. I'm not sure what purpose it would be, maybe heroes could start building items or something. Thoughts? Quote

Bricksandparts Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 I see you haven't been reading Schools Out recently. I figure he was skimming the discussions thread and subconsciously picked up the idea, then thought about it consciously. This idea was also used in death's homecoming, where we had to use the bricks to make a mechanism to break a cage. Quote
