Poison Ivy Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Poison Ivy (Alisha) : You were very funny and one of the really active players in the beginning. I liked that. But as time went on, you slowly became less active and not posting. I'm unsure what happened. I guess because of that you did ok. Yeah, I lost interest in Alisha, just playing her in general, after a few weeks. She's just such a contrast to my personality, it got hard to keep in-character when I was playing such an anger-ridden character, when I'm exactly the opposite IRL. She went back to the drawing board, so to speak, around halfway through, though I did pick up some of the pieces later on. I tried to be as active as I could, but losing my username/password for EB didn't help that any. I did eventually find them, though, and I've got them (mostly) memorized, so maybe that'll change. The other big thing that happened that took away a lot of my activity on this site was my discovery of online RPGing, which I've been doing quite a lot lately. Quote
Sandy Posted April 21, 2012 Author Posted April 21, 2012 Now that my Mafia School is out of the way, I'll launch two short quests: another Wolfgang vs. Town Watch quest, and a Guild of Invision vs. Shadeaux quest. Both of these feature about three battles, but they're important in advancing the main story. After those are done, I'm thinking of giving you a glance of the lives of Nuitan and Lyren, as has been requested. Oh, and Ellaria should make a return to the Hall soon as well. Quote
Flipz Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 (edited) After those are done, I'm thinking of giving you a glance of the lives of Nuitan and Lyren, as has been requested. Do you think the Dastan Quests will be finished before you start this one? Alas: How on earth do you manage to run multiple Quests at once?!? I'm just planning for one and it's already eating a lot of time. EDIT: Let me rephrase that so as to sound less rude: PLEASE wait until the Dastan Quests are finished before you start the Nuitan and Lyren one! Edited April 21, 2012 by Flipz Quote
CMP Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 I feel that the Hinckwells are currently seen as 'the good guys', even though they are just as bad as the other houses. I personally think it would be much more interesting if it were the Shadeaux that hired the heroes, and the Hinckwells to hire the privateers. I blame Sandy for making their color scheme gray, black, and red, and their emblem being a bat. I really like the rivalry between the two, although they both basically do the same sorts of things, albeit operating differently. Quote
LEGOman273 Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 (edited) YES! YES! Give this man a medal! I, too, want to eventually write a Quest from the Shadeaux perspective, but that's a back-burner project for me. (I reserve a Shadeaux character named "Lord Basil" for this Quest, though, since I've already written plot points and dialogue for him.) Currently, I'm working on a concept for another under-used House, the Ji Pei (who, if I recall, have never appeared on a Quest that would allow the heroes to gain their favor). Is the name "Lord Thyme" taken? Think about it. Yeah, I lost interest in Alisha, just playing her in general, after a few weeks. She's just such a contrast to my personality, it got hard to keep in-character when I was playing such an anger-ridden character, when I'm exactly the opposite IRL. But if you don't want to play her anymore, you can make her a NPC Hero, and create another character. Edited April 21, 2012 by LEGOman273 Quote

No no no, that's not it at all. I ran out of things to do with her character, that's all. I actually relish the challenge of playing someone who's so in contrast with my own personality. It makes the game much more interesting. As I said, backstory, all that, WHAM! went back to the concept stage. I've got some new stuff written out for her, obviously that involves a lot of roleplaying with some other characters, specifically Dak, Haldor if I'm still in the Hall when he gets back from his Quest, and maybe a few I haven't thought of yet. A quest Althior and Alexis can go on I hope. Oh, Ellaria is coming back? I can't wait! Quote
Tanma Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 (edited) I will say that it would be HEAVILY involved in rooleplaying, so you were one of the first players who came to mind. It's why I picked Ji Pei over Guild of Invision, I was hoping to entice De'kra in. In any event, there's still a LOT of sets to build, and K-nut still hasn't gotten back to me on helping me choose puzzles. Sounds good, I can't wait to see how it rolls. (although quest 29 obviously comes first) Though I do wonder what the Ji Pei plan is that Byblos vaguely implied might exists. Oh, and Ellaria should make a return to the Hall soon as well. But hear me heroes! No longer is she the cleric we knew! She is Fire! And life Productive! Now and forever she is Phoenix! ...it felt appropriate. She does have a fire elemental sword, and she can move to an advanced class now. Edited April 22, 2012 by Tanma Quote
Zepher Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 I agree. I know a lot of the opinions of the heroes regarding the Shadeaux are negative, in part as a result of my own Q4. That's how the real world works too though. If the heroes only two run-ins with the Shadeux have been negative (Q2 briefly, and Q4) and those are the only stories floating around the hall... that's just what people would think! Quote
Endgame Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Sandy, could I PM you the general gist of a quest idea before I go and start really developing things? I want to have the idea finalized before I write up an entire quest and order the bricks online. Quote

Kadabra Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 You said I should pitch my idea as soon as it's fleshed out, which it is (I've got everything ready, i.e. stats & MOCs), but obviously this won't be posted for a while. Quest #??: The Centerpiece of my Collection Quest Master: Kadabra Assignment: 'Ello, mates, Ah'm the lieutenant of 'Is Majesty the Dragon Prince down 'ere in tha Archipelago of tha Elements, and some ijit down 'ere came in an' swiped 'is most prized artifact, the Elemental Grail, an split it inta ten parts - the gold chalie an' the nine purest gemstones ya ever did see. Ah've been put on tha case of trackin dem down, but as it turns out, there're some mighty vicious guardians protectin' each piece. I got my megabloks whooped and handed ta me on a silver platter by a gian' golem when Ah went after tha Flawless Garnet, so it looks like Ah'll need some 'elp from y'all 'Ero types for this 'un. Party Requirements: Ah'd prefer if this 'ere theft diddin get, ah, publicized, if ya know what Ah mean, as we wouldn't want'is Majesty to appear incapable of guardin' 'is 'oard, so just four 'eroes, please. Them guardian's are mighty tough, though, so Ah'd reckon the 'eroes oughta be of an experience level of at least twenny five. Reward: 2500 Gold to split, one gemstone of your choice each, and the option of becoming a Dragon Champion( -maybe) WARNING! This Quest will be long and difficult, and is for experienced players looking for a challenge. Expect to fall in battle at least once, and although failing the Quest in battle isn't likely, it should be considered a possibility and prepared for beforehand. No matter whether you succeed or fail, I'd like to think this will be a fun Quest and worthwhile XP- and loot-wise. -Kadabra So here's my pitch. Let me know what you think. Quote
xxlrocka Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 TWENTY FIVE?!?!?!?! Seriously, I don't think any hero in the hall is twenty five, so if you do get the sign ups up, probably nobody will sign up IMO. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Looks like an interesting quest, but I know most people would probably prefer shorter quests. Shorter Quests are much easier to host, and will keep players entertained longer, unless you have a serious LOT of variety. Maybe you should try to cut it in parts? Difficult quests are fine, and should not have to be added to the description, I think. (If I had my way, everyone would succeed on the skin of their teeths in quests, but I'm sadistic like that) A last thing to notice is that the reward is defenitely a lot, even for a longer, more difficult than average, quest. TWENTY FIVE?!?!?!?! Seriously, I don't think any hero in the hall is twenty five, so if you do get the sign ups up, probably nobody will sign up IMO. You did not read the whole thing, did you? Quote

I think the lieutenant sounds far too much like the Shadeuax, personally. That's also a giant reward for just four heroes. Quote
Flipz Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 He did say it wouldn't be posted for QUITE some time. Show a little respect, xxlrocka! Honestly, Kadabra, I really like the sound of it, though I'm a bit more hesitant on the Dragon Warrior aspect. I'm sure by the time the Expert Classes (and by extension, this Quest) is ready, you'll have the kinks ironed out. Quote
Kadabra Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 (edited) The Expert Class is for sure a maybe, depending on how well I've got it balanced by the time this is ready to be posted. I'd appreciate criticism on that, BTW. The plan is for each part of the Grail to be hidden on a different island with an elemental theme and guardian, so variety shouldn't be a problem, as we'll be going from deserts to jungles and volcanoes to frozen wastelands. The notice and XL reward are because this will be long and it will require thinking outside the box (and possibly even inside the chimney! ) during battle, and most importantly, it will be completely and totally brutal, so if you don't want to die repeatedly and possibly even lose the Quest due to battle, you shouldn't sign up. Thanks for the feedback, guys. EDIT: Oh, and how does he sound like the Shadeaux? Do you mean the over-the-top accent parodying Australians, Southerners, and more, or the concept, or what? Sandy Posted May 3, 2012 Author Posted May 3, 2012 Please pitch a simpler and shorter quest first, Kadabra. You're inexperienced as a host, so you must not take on more than you can handle, and certainly not something as large-scale and ambitious as that quest seems to be. But who knows, maybe one day you'll get to host that quest as well. Quote

I've been planning this for ages, ever since I joined, actually, but I do plan to host other, shorter Quests first, I just don't have anything specific or built, so I just posted this one first. Jedi master Brick Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 I am building Mocs for a quest, it should be ready in about six weeks Quest:#??: The knights of sir John strike back Quest master: Jedi master Brick Assignment: we are an old group of soldiers trying to bring peace to Ennon, it was working 5 Years back, we had a small town, expanding fast. Then the mecenarys, from the cult of scorpius have beaten our soldiers so now we are few. But now we strike back, I have devised a plan to strike at the heart of the cult and kill its leader but I will need help Sir John, found of the knights of Sir John Party requirements we need a part of 4 to help us infiltrate the cult of Scorpius' headquarters. But no rouges or barbarrians, we know not to trust them now Reward: 400 gold to share and 1 level of experience each This quest would be not too long and have a fair few battles. I would like feedback on the idea please Quote
Scubacarrot Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 snip It sounds ok, but very generic. Also, it could be in any other Game out there, there does not some to be any connection to the world that is already there, do you know what I mean? Also, I am not a fan of warding certain classes from the quest without good (combat-related) reason. Quote

It could be the Paldin order having sent out a scout force for future settlement running into trouble. Quote
