Pyrovisionary Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I am. Hosting a quest? If so, yussssss! Quote
UsernameMDM Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I am. Ugh. When? Your quests are like crack. Quote
Scorpiox Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 If he'd owned up to it in the beginning, maybe. But I don't think Cronk will look too kindly upon someone who let another being face punishment (and possibly death) for his own crime. I understand, as a player, the tight spot you were put in but Cronk won't. OOC: I didn't want Haldor to be hanged. IC: Haldor didn't want to be hanged. Honestly, I was thinking of trying to divert attention towards an outside attacker, but then time started running out, and then Jorke assualted the party... Seeing as he is a member of the order, I think he'd be granted a fair trial for the crime, and hopefully found not-guilty. For Haldor, admitting the truth would have been impossible. Beside the initial problem of being executed, the order's relationship with Heroica would be ruined beyond repair, which our friend couldn't allow in the knowledge Jorke would probably be set free in the end. As much as owning up would have been the right thing moral, practically, it would cause even further problems. Quote

Brickdoctor Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I am. It's not Guffington 2, right? I need to get back for that. Quote
Flipz Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Addictive and likely to get whoever's on it killed at some point? I think that's the most apt description anyone has ever given a Zepher Quest, ever. Quote
Zepher Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 It is Guffington, but it will be a while before I actually host it! A little over a month. I was just commenting on Sarge when he said someone should do another murder mystery. Quote

I was just commenting on Sarge when he said someone should do another murder mystery. I want in. Is Sarge wants in on a murder mystery, then he's going to love my quest. Not quite a murder mystery, but really close. And with the Bonaparte rep... Masked, when on earth did you find time for your own quest!? Quote
Masked Builder Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Masked, when on earth did you find time for your own quest!? I first pitched it on Sunday. Don't worry, yours is all but done. If you're ready, I'd say you could ask Sandy to post it. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 So Guffington 2 is popular, but I'm the only active member with a Sylvania's Cowl aren't I? Big Hunt 2 is the quest I want to ton on. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 but I'm the only active member with a Sylvania's Cowl aren't I? Big Hunt 2 is the quest I want to ton on. There're a bunch of players who have Animal Talk as a job trait, so I don't think it would be a huge advantage for you. (not sure what "Big Hunt" is, though) Quote

TheBoyWonder Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Big Hunt was the quest with Siercon and Adamn with Russel, Pigley and the evil frog. I know, but the cowl was the gimmick. Quote
Flipz Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Still one of my favorite Zepher Quests to date. In other news, some essential QM lessons I've learned even though my Quest is still in planning/building: 1.) Your players are always plotting against you. ALWAYS. 2.) You will never, EVER be able to prepare for everything your players throw at you. 3.) That little detail you worked on? That one that took you an extra two hours to create, that may be your personal favorite bit of the project? Your players will either a.) complain bitterly about it, or b.) ignore it entirely. Just my thoughts. Quote
Endgame Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 (edited) You learned that only recently? And here I was, thinking you read Darths and Droids... Edited April 6, 2013 by Endgame Quote

The Legonater Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Big loot drop suggestion: I'm sure that my fellow QMs (along with me) are having a little trouble keeping weapons/loot manageable and unique. The four big ones (gold, gems, weapons, consumables) are ALWAYS good, and I really think we need to see more of them (more and more gold, or hosting will become harder and harder as more and more unique stuff pops up). However, I think there is ANOTHER good good item we could add to the mix: status causers. "A Honing Stone of Stunning", for example, once applied to a weapon, would give it the ability to stun people. They could be combined with already in use weapons, but would be great drops. I'm not saying they should be common, maybe one per quest at most, but they're really nice loot that's not game breaking, not OP, encourages further strategy/character optimization, and don't introduce any new mechanics that people would have to memorize/learn. Just a thought. So, out of curiosity, was there an official yea or nay on this suggestion? Quote
The Legonater Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 I can't find any response from Sandy to that particular suggestion in this topic. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 I thought I remembered Sandy saying that if a player wanted to be able to deal multiple effects, he should have to maintain and choose from multiple weapons. Can't find the post, either, though. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Someone that hosts Hoke needs to drop some Mystic Knight armor with an SP & Ether boost & spell buff. :) Also, how about impenetrable armor with SP that cannot be pierced/ignored. Quote

Can't find the post, either, though. I believe this is what you are thinking of ... As for your suggestion about weapon merging, I'm not going to implement it. There's no point in having weapons with different categories and different effects if people would be able to just roll them all into one. Roleplaying games are about making choices, after all. You can strive to become all-powerful for all you want, but I'm certainly not going to make it easier for you. It was in response to the idea of merging different weapons to combine effects, but the same idea could easily present itself with things like a "Honing stone of stunning".
