It was a good battle, but I could have done with a little tiny extra quarter of a level...

Though, with this crown and a scroll of doom that I could put into Cysgodion......

I'm one step closer to Paragon of Doom!

Anyway, on a more serious note, it was great to have a small quest to play through, the puzzles weren't too difficult and the plotline was fun. The "parts" were an enjoyable feature and afflicted made a good mechanic in battle.

 overall.

Agreed, that last line gave me chills :look:

I thought I was alone there. For a character that's not supposed to be too paranoid, you sure know how to freak the hell out of Atramor, Zepher.

I liked it. It was different in many ways from the Wren Quests, in more than just focus. You always manage to make such simple situations seem so damn profound, it's like the mark of a Zepher Quest (next to piles of beloved NPC corpses). The beginning was slow and a little freeform, which was nice, though I kind of wish getting to know the actors would've led somewhere, it seems like they were really just there for us to protect. Their personalities were cool, though. The middle was straightforward, and I hesitate to say repetitive, but the bulk of the Quest was fight-scene-fight-scene-fight-scene. A riddle or a puzzle or something could've broken it up a little better. The ending was suitably chilling.

As far as battles go....I think you've reached a good balance on making a group of enemies very challenging yet defeatable, but I really believe you should loosen up on the difficulty on a few of them. I love a challenging fight, don't get me wrong, but four straight difficult ones in a row is pretty grueling. Save the challenging fights for when you want an enemy to seem capable, but not every single one has to be difficult or easier.

Loved my party. Althior seems to have traded in his emotions in exchange for being a little less annoying... :look: but Finnegan was funny as always. I'm glad to have had Atramor meet Tesni. Nothing seems to get in the way of her beating down a ton of opponents. Maybe you could roll Counter a little less, at least when I'm absorbing all the damage. :hmpf_bad::tongue: And as always, it was fun to Quest with Ellaria. It's safe to say Atramor would've died several times over without constant healing.

Another solid Zepher Quest.

I gal can dream about bringing doom everywhere she goes can't she? :cry_sad:

As for team, it was cool to quest with Ellaria and Althior again and it was fun for Tesni to meet Atramor, even though we weren't able to post in a lot of RP interaction due to the fact it was a straight up single night kind of quest.

You can't. There is also no scroll of doom. That would basically be a 50% chance to kill everything...

Well, no, Doomed is just Instant KO with a timer and a better percentage chance of success than Assassination. Like that one Special in the Fields that Knocks Out the inflicted hero after three Rounds regardless of HP, SP, or Row. Any enemies Immune to Instant KO should also be unaffected by Doomed.

Yes. And there is no scroll like that.

Oh, yes, I know there's no Scroll of Doomed; I was responding to the part of your statement that it'd be a "50% chance to kill everything".

Well. A 50% to kill anything in a few rounds that isn't immune to sudden death (or doomed individually) with probably a steep ether cost. To be precise.

Why is everyone looking at me? Those damned scraps of paper are basically ARI on steroids, with the Tonics being Tripto. (Yes, I just finished watching a Heavy Rain playthrough, why do you ask? :look: )

I, at least, really enjoyed watching 68. The plot point at the beginning explaining which Hero was which could have been a little better-explained, but that was the only real negative criticism I had of it. I definitely think that it needed this specific party; without Althior's roll-free undead, or his and Ellaria's ability to revive, or Atramor's awesomely broken build (kudos for proving that an optimized build doesn't have to break battles for everyone else, by the way), the party would have been so screwed.%

I don't think they did decide which hero was which. Tesni got the last hit on the Prince, which is what the King did in the play and named Ellaria the Duke, leaving Atramor as the General since those were the three who ran into the witches.

Quest 68 was an enjoyable read, Zepher. Your battles were just hard enough to the point where they seemed fair but also challenging, and that Rat Queen battle will be remembered for some time. My only issue with the quest was it felt scripted - probably because of the fact it literally was. The entire plot, besides the ending, was essentially laid out very early on. It made the quest a bit predictable, in my mind.

Howver, that ending was chilling, and probably one of the best out of - topped only by 53.

Thank you all for the kind words! I do a normal Zepher post-quest post tomorrow, but I'm glad you all liked the quest and story! Like I said, I'd agree it was flawed, and I have such trouble hosting battles, but it's always worth it to hear that everyone had fun.

And now, with Russel II done and Guffington II underway, can anyone guess the common thread between all the quests? It's been laid out now!

NPCs must die?

One the seems prevalent to me is aspiration. The Wren Quests featured Wren's aspirations to ascend to some higher form, and the last Guffington quest featured Guffington's aspirations quite prominently. I admit I haven't been following the Russel quests as closely, but the characters there do seem to have aspirations of their own.

It's close, and that's a definite thematic theme and VERY close, but there's one STORY element in all of them. Like, something discussed and relevant to all of them.

If you figure out who the witches serve, then you've got it!

Zoot? No, wait, that demon thing from the final shoot of #53? Or perhaps it's the floor!

Calling this now. The final Zeph Quest is going to start with Felton coming back and warning the heroes the Wren has gotten out of the spirit-world thing and is using her new power to kill all the Old Gods or something along those lines. :look:

We go back in time to save Doc Brown Guffington, then inadvertently allow Biff Tannen Wren to create an alternate timeline where she rules a gambling city the world, so we have to go back in time again to fix that but we accidentally end up in the wild west in the Lost Party, when we defeat Mad Dog Wren and get back to the future.

How come that seems so reasonable?

:laugh_hard:

Too bad you mentioned it though, now there's no way Zepher will use it.
