In other news. Quest 40: The Strivvian Job: Part 2 (Electric Boogaloo?) It's a thing. Sandy, should I repitch?

Finally!!

Don't put it up yet, we've got to get the party back together first.

For my own responses:

I'm going to swap with Zeph and give him a quest where he has to do nothing but calculate tons of battles with dozens of heroes and even more enemies. I love hosting quests like that.

*oh2*

- History of High/Low Kingdoms and Orc Rebellions

Coming up.

Interesting idea, but I'm not sure if I think it's the best way to encourage QM cooperation and idea exchange. I think I would prefer shared hosting or interlocking quest to QM swapping, mostly because I like to fulfill my own ideas and I see the actual quest run as a reward for all the planning and I rather not give up that. I also think it's more fun to cooperate and discuss with a fellow QM instead of giving him/her an idea and free hands with it.

As I said, it was just an idea. I'm actually fishing a little - there is a quest I really want to host, but I can't get the plot together properly. It introduces an important character or two for later quests, and an item, but I don't know how to hang it together. So I wanted to know if others would be interested in that sort of stuff.

Dwarves. So neglected. :cry_sad: I also really, really want to see what the Masked Man is all about.

I think a simpler idea would be to have one QM do one Quest of a storyline, then another do the next, etc. Could be interesting.

Seconded about dwarves and Masked Man. And I like that idea a lot!

What are your thoughts on Grand Finale quests?

They are never quite so grand as you think. I can't host a quest that ends the game (Sandy gets that honor  ) so all the heroes sort of walk away from them and do other stuff later. It's a mixed bag.

I honestly don't see the value of swapping quests, either, but more collaboration would of course be nice to see (and do it myself as well).

Perhaps more collaboration too. I'm just saying, those quest ideas that you had two years ago, wouldn't it be cool to see one or two of them now, with someone else's spin on them? I'm doing (purposefully minor) character fleshing out for Madame Ladybug (taking many cues off of what you've already done). But if I tossed Johnny Everyman, for example, out into the world - well, he may come back to me with even more depth, because someone else would have given him a new fun spin. It's like seeing your own character from another person's eyes.

Agreed again.

And an answer to one of my own questions:

Chaos in Eubric - Repetitive sometimes, sure. But I can't not love it. I felt the most excited to post the next bit of the story for this whole quest. Stingy loot would be the only thing I'd fix, and maybe some easier battles here and there.

Ambassadors to Dastan - My most sprawling quest to date. What can beat Dastan? Awesome culture, great characters.

The Lost Party - My best story driven quest. Easy, to the point, formulaic without being boring, easy sets with decent pictures. I was pleased with this one and thought that the flashbacks worked.

A Party - I get complaints that it's a bit slow. But god am I having fun.

The Great Hunt - Fun characters, easy storyline, easy battle calculations.

Let's Start a Riot - A pretty solid quest. Wish I had delved into McColt more, I feel I didn't develop his character enough here and he suffered from there on in. Still, okay structure, some fun battles, GREAT party.

The Great Guffington - Fun battles, fun to explore one character in depth, not much more of note.

A Night at the Theatre - Flat flat flat. It was fine. I liked the puzzles, but that's about it.

The Arena - Was still figuring things out. Battles were too easy and too poorly run. Set the stage for some later stuff. Also, not a good part of what is now "The World of Heroica", in my opinion.

Planning for the next Duplovia quest, which takes place mainly in a cave. I was trying to build when I realized that trying to build each cave wall individually would take a long time, and probably a lot more pieces than I have readily available. So I was wondering if it would be fine from a visual standpoint if I edited in a background of a cave into the picture like this:

I ask mainly because after a quick glance at various quests I'm not totally sure if it's been done on this scale before.

It was not fun to do for the sewers in Quest 69, I'll tell you that.

Is there any way you can just stick something black behind the set itself? It'd save a lot of work, and remove those white outlines on everything.

What kind of cave are you shooting for, Legonater? Can you just make one (perhaps slightly larger than neccesary wall so you can use different parts of it for different shots) piece of straight wall and use that as the background every time?

Sandy, are you going to do an overview of quest 74?

I wasn't planning to. It's not my cup of tea to really evaluate people's performances, and of course there's never anything wrong with my performance or the stories I tell.

I will say that had you let Frimelda live, she would have ended up joining Heroica. Besides the option to go to the Masked Man, that's the only thing you missed from the quest, you even fought through all the optional battles as well.

Or build a few different segments of wall and mix them up to create different walls.

I think he is saying he is limited in the pieces, so that may be difficult.

Oh wait, nevermind, I see what you mean. Yeah, that's a good way of doing things as well.

Ever want to go to the High Kingdoms? Here are the north-western most three, along with some of their friends/allies.

A quest launching in late November, hopefully (Sandy, I know you have yet to approve, give me a bit more time to sure everything up). The quest will involve the Kingdoms building a bridge to potentially begin trade with the Orcs.

The minifigs look great, but you really need to come up with proper names for the kingdoms. Otherwise the nations will be known as "redlizardians", "goldencrownians" and "fourboulderians".

How about these (inspired by the color schemes)?

Carmina, the Kingdom of the Red Lizard

Ceruleon, the Kingdom of the Golden Crown

Brunland, the Kingdom of the Four Boulders

On the other hand, if you'd rather something more off the beaten path, the Mercutio's Smile circus troupe will be traveling in the High Kingdoms during that time of year and may need some protection from both men and orcs alike while on tour in the area. (Also pending Sandy's approval)

Alternatively, around the same time the Four Clans of Baltarok are seeking to restore thousands of years of honor, with or without the aid of the Kingdoms, if any heroes are willing to help hold them together long enough to do so. (And has also not been pitched yet.)

One hell of a coincidence, huh? :sweet:
