Transformers Movie information revealed

The two writers of the TF movie did a web chat earlier today, where they revealed the full line-up of characters.

I think they got a pretty good list there. The Autobots seem to have a good, practical amount of characters. The Decepiticons have a few weird picks, but a good list overall.

The Autobots' list is weird in my opinion...and so...brief?! *Sigh* No HotRod, Kup and Springer banter for me then (and neither some good Autobot-hottie Arcee lovin'...). 'Tis a shame.

Same is true for the Decepticons. The coolest of the lot are missing: Cyclonus... Scourge... seems we won't even see ever-so-cool "tape-hawk" Lazerbeak...

Its a M.Bay movie, what did you all expect ? The trailer is crap and that Megatron pic is way passed crap, its just horrible :-X

I know, I know. Tis travesty what smacks us upside the head.

I don't mind that he looks different, as Volkswagen wanted to be foofy about him being a Beetle, but "who" Bumblebee is has been removed.

Bumblebee was nearly human-sized, walking around with Spike and gabbing the whole time.

Here, he's not even the shortest Autobot, he's mute, and there was no attempt, other than color, to even remotely emulate his look.

And why is he mute? In the script, everybody's reconnecting lost limbs on a nanite level, but he can't regenerate his voice box?

Yeesh... the script is hideous. Just a bunch of cliche'd phrases, cliche'd situations, cliche'd characters, cliche'd pop culture references, cliche'd "humor"... just another crap American movie.

At first i thought that this film might be ok but after seeing alot of different pics of how the TF's will look im now expecting this movie to be one of the crappest movies ever released.

So Bumblebees a mute?? WTF is that all about? did the writer even bother to read the first TF comic? Bumblebees interaction with spike and the other humans was a major part in establishing their status on earth.

If i was in charge of making such a film the first thing i would do is make sure that the TF's at least looked and sounded like their comic/tv counterparts. To me this no longer looks like a TF movie, its more of a gobot movie and boy did those guys suck.

There seems to be alot of bad info going round at the moment about this film. I've even stopped visiting TF boards due to the never-ending complaining about one thing or another. I've been keeping up on news from official sources - director, writer and producers. Everything I have heard from them still has me excited.

The main sore-point among fans is it is not following the G1 story. Well, it's not G1. This should really not come as any shock, as there have been many self-contained series over the years.

The designs do not look like the originals. I personally, do not see this as a problem. From the start it has been said they will look radically different as getting a robot to transform in live-action, and have no mass-shifting, would mean alot of compromises.

And as for Bumblebee being a mute - this was addressed a while ago. When he first appears, he is damaged. He will be repaired at some point - there were pictures of the beat-up Camero and the repaired '07 version floating around a while ago.

The Megatron pic is also not the final version. It has been confirmed he will have his iconic Fusion Cannon. The CGI is due to be added to film after Christmas, so nothing is set in stone yet (for robots - obviously vehicle modes are final now).

Sorry if this seems like a rant X-D Transformers has always been my main passion, and I believe this film will be incredible. Different, yes - but still amazing.

I was watching this movie's progression from the start. Here's the guy who had his hands all over the first script, Don Murphy.

He went to G1 fans and asked them how the original cartoon could be faithfully translated. But to the suprise of those giving ideas, he just tossed "geek" insults and nerd cliche's around, totally putting down those who were trying to help.

Not suprising, coming from a guy who said Soundwave was a "silly" character. >__<

Exactly what is the point to being rude when people ask heart-felt questions regarding something that's been bopping around in their mind for over 25 years?

At least it seems the script won't begin in the jungles of the amazon, where he wanted it to.

But really, how much can the script that was leaked really change? They've already said the people to robot ratio will be more like 50/50, so it's not like they're going to take all the poop in it and completely rewrite just about every scene (as every scene is pretty badly cliche'd garbage).

At around page 8 or 9, Don signed up on the forum.

Apparently, some small-time blogger gave his opnion of the movie.

Don, dick he is, blasted him for it.

The blogger goes to seibertron with the topic "I guess Don doesn't like me".

Don signs up to (kind of?) run damage control.

It turns into a whole big thing & finally the owner of seibertron blasts Don for going to his board to troll like he does on his own site.

Seibertron's mods, despite seibertron's owner's feelings, jump in & keep the peace.

And it seems to have worked, as there's now an "Ask Don questions" thread, in which he is participating in.

I am not a transformer hardcore fan like some of you are, but I recall Transformers to be cool looking machines and NOT those crappy modern walking trashcans. Add that its a M.Bay production and that Don has a part in the final product and you arrive at the conclusion of a CRAP movie (and thats an understatment)

Just to add, whilst I do listen to Don for updates, I personally do not like the way he speaks to, and about, fans. I am giving him the benefit of doubt for the time being, as I can imagine he is under alot of pressure, especially with all the recent leaks.

As to how much involvement he has, this is really his baby - he did all the ground work to get it off the ground. And the new look of the transformers can't be blamed on him, or even Micheal Bay - Hasbro had the most say in that department - they want to sell the toys!

As mentioned somewhere else, they should have calle dit robot wars or something like that. The robots look cool, but closer to what a futuristic mech would be.
