TheBoyWonder Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 I love the Kingdoms theme. Just no where near me has them, apart from the Lego Shop that is a couple of Miles away. Any advice on how to build up 2 armies, I can do an undead, and I may be able to do a human one? Quote
JopieK Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 well ny advice is: get a bike so you can drive that couple of miles :) that is how we do it in Holland although we cycle in kilometers instead of miles so shops might be closer by ;) (Not really, our closest shop is too expensive, the nearest dedicated LEGO shop is 20km away actually and the closest LEGO store is in Germany). KristofBD Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 I agree that the Kingdoms line is definitively worth the effort: it has plenty of new accessories and unique figures. All prior factions had more generic figures, but lacked the detail the kingdoms line has (the exception being obviously the golden knight of the fantasy era). By the way, if you are unable to get to that LEGO shop, may be you can consider ordering the sets online. I find that itt is a very convenient and often cheaper way of getting lego. Good luck! Quote
Wardancer Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Are you aware of Kingdoms Battle packs? 5 figs for 15 Euro is quite good. But be aware, some are misprinted. I don't know if there is such a a thing as "Ebay Kleinanzeigen" in Holland. It is a branch of ebay which works without fees and auctions. I made a few good deals using this, for example I got the big kingdoms castle for 50 instead of 100 Euro. The problem with kingdoms is: everybody likes them. Everybody knows the prices the sets can fetch. I think it is useful to have a good plan on what to focus. It could be anoying if you collect half a dragon knights army and THEN decide that you like lions better. Quote
Wardancer Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Also it is advisable to check big stores regularly for reduced sets. At the moment, in Germany, prices for the older sets go down because the new ones were introduced a month ago. Quote
TheCrimsonTrooper Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I normally do the driving. It doesn't matter if it is farther away to get to the Legos you want, it just means the trips aren't as frequent. Quote
