Scubacarrot Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Guts walks in, heads towards Elphaba's wagon, and after a while of looking at the wares available, decided to buy an Opal, for 100 gold, leaving Guts with 299 Gold. The gem was cold, even cold enough that the rogue could feel it through his armoured glove. Happy with his purchase from the dealer in magic items, The rogue moved on to the smithy. Guts laid the Opal, his blacksmith writ of service, his weapon Lifestealer and 50 gold down. Upgrading it to WP:8, and Imbuing it with the power of Ice. Guts still has 249 gold left. While the blacksmith was working on the weapon, Guts instructed him to take out the decorations, and the curve of the dagger. The reforged blade was darker, cold to the touch, and straight. All in all, it looked more like a short sword, than a dagger now. Done with Anwyl, Guts stopped by Portia's Potion Shack, and bought a sixpack of bottles of Mead, for 90 gold. and selling his remedy and his Holy Bomb, for 10 gold. Leaving Guts with 169 gold. Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Dak strolls casually into the Marketplace with 411 Gold clinking in his pockets, thinking about new strategies. First, he walks up to Anwyl's Smithy, to sell his Mockthril Whip (+20 G), and his Thgir Blade (+25 G), leaving him with 456 Gold. (411+25+20) He then walks over to Elphaba's Wagon, and buys a Topaz for 100 Gold, which leaves him with 356 Gold(456-100). He walks back to the Smithy, and puts 220 Gold(80+90+50), his Mockthril Knife, the gem, and his Writ of Service on the table, which puts his Knife to WP:10, Lightning elemental. This leaves him with 136 Gold (356-220). That done, he walks over to Portia's Potion Shack, and buys two Meads, costing him 30 Gold, leaving him with 106 Gold. This done, he buys a Smelling Salts and a Nostrum, costing him 60 Gold (35 + 25). This transaction leaves him with 46 Gold (106-60). Thus equipped, he continues back to the Hall. Quote
JimBee Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 After reading up on the elements and their properties in the library, Hybros headed out to the marketplace with his still heavy sack of gold. He stopped at Elphaba's for the first time in her two appearances at Eubric. He poured 100 gold from his sack onto the counter, and pointed to a garnet. The witch grinned and handed it down to the imp. Next, he headed to Anwyl's, to imbue the gem within his primary weapon. Hybros waited patiently for the smith to work the gem into Zoot's Reaper. "That's quite the scythe ye got there, little one," Anwyl said, returning the completed weapon. "I've seen o'coupla a' those kinds around here. Old magic, is what's in'em." Hybros simply nodded in thanks, and handed over 50 gold for the service. He received Zoot's Reaper. The dark-colored metal looked the same, but the weapon felt much heavier and solid, like the ground beneath him. At last, Hybros could wield the power of the earth, just as his ancestors did eons ago. Perhaps there was more than one way to contact his kind... Quote
Khorne Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 Eric stepped into the marketplace again and walked straight towards Anwyl, the fake Dwarf. He lay His weapons and the topaz on Anwyl's bench. "The topaz goes with the axe. Then you can work your magics on the sword once more, see if you can unlock more of its potential" Eric ordered. His attitude was grim and arrogant, more so than other times. The Dwarven blacksmith simply nodded, grumbled and took the pieces to his working place. After a rather long time, Anwyl returned, both weapons in his hands. Eric took the weapons from the Dwarf's care and tossed him some coins. He returned to the Hall while admiring Grom. Little sparks jumped out of the axeheads. This would certainly sting Eric's enemies. Starting budget: 215 Income: 0 Expenditures: -160 (50+110) Total: 55 Quote
Peppermint_M Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Tesni purchased two smelling salts for 50 gold leaving her a total of 237 gold. Checking the other wares, she decided against buying anything else. Quote
Quarryman Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Having just realized she didn't have much time Namyrra rushed to the market to buy two Grand Tonics and two Smelling Salts from Portia for 110 gold, and have Anwyl upgrade her Lullaby Wand to WP 8 for 70+80=150 gold, leaving her with 20 gold. Having thus spent most of her money she went off in search of her quest mates. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 Tarn walks up to Elphaba's Wagon. Gems have always perplexed him but the Quests he had been on had certainly showed him their usefulness. His battle axe, Kyrferath (Wave of Light) had been imbued with an Aquamarine gem already, but he wanted to add more. He politely asked the green-skinned woman for an Opal and a Topaz (355 gold - 200 = 155), and sold his bone to her (155 + 5 = 160). With the gem in hand, he went across to Anywl to get the Opal and the Topaz merged into Kyrferath (160 gold - 50 - 50 = 60 gold). Whilst he was there he sold Anwyl his Pole Axe (WP:3) for 15 gold (3x5) (60 + 15 = 75) and picked out a Fauxthril Spear as a backup weapon (75 - 50 = 25). He handed Anwyl the Writ of blacksmith's service he had acquired at the successful conclusion to Quest#20 to get the spear upgraded from WP:5 to WP:6. Tarn stowed his new spear but did not name it yet. The weapon had not yet seen combat. However Tarn marveled at the new version of his battle axe. He would rename it Helbaerend, the Icy Barrage. Finally he heads to Portia and picks up a Smelling Salts (25 - 25 = 0). Bereft of coin but loaded with new weaponry, Tarn returns to the Hall. Quote
Flipz Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 As Arthur stepped into the marketplace, he was startled to see none other than... "Elphaba? Ha! I haven't seen her cart since I was a boy!" Seeing that she was busy with another customer, he quietly browsed her wares and made some mental calculations. "Hmm, yes, hmm..." Leaving Elphaba to her conversation with a rather tall-looking dwarf, he headed to Anwyl's Smithy...only to find it empty. "Hmph! Well, might as well..." Leaving a note with instructions for the blacksmith, he also deposits his Serpentine Staff for sale and his Staff of the Elven Necromancer for elemental unbinding, along with 35 Gold as payment (50 gold for elemental unbinding, minus the 15 for the Serpentine Staff). He hoped the bag of silver nobles he also left behind would convince the smithy to accept his more...unusual specifications for the Necromancer staff. Returning to Elphaba's, he caught her just about to leave the stall, in the direction of Anwyl's, it seemed. He negotiated purchases Scrolls of Blindness, Confusion, and, on the flip of a copper common, Sealing, for a grand total of 150 Gold. After promising to come back for the final scroll, and a few moments of idle chit-chat (the witch clearly didn't remember him, but she made a good effort of pretending she did), Arthur headed back to the Hall, his money-pouch 185 gold lighter, but better prepared for the days to come. He hoped his package would arrive at the Hall soon. (225 - (50 + 50 + 50 + 50) + 15 = 40 Gold) Quote
Sloop Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 OOC: Please tell me if I made any mistakes, this is my first time doing this... After wandering around the marketplace, and browsing the many shops for several hours, Helm finally gets down to business. Taking his sword, which he notched against an elf lord in his first battle, he sold it to the blacksmith for 15 gold. Then, carefully selecting a blade, he purchases a Fauxthril Greatsword for fifty gold. Swinging it around a few times, he is surprised how imbalanced it is. Handing it back over, he has the blacksmith re-balance it. (+1 WP -60 Gold) Then, he has the blacksmith further improve it by adding large runes to the blade and sharpen the edge razor keen. (+1 WP -70 Gold) Finally content with his new Runed Greatsword (WP: 7) he proceeds to the other shops. Arriving at Portia's stand, he buys 4 Potions (-20 Gold), 1 Remedy (-10 Gold), 1 Mead (-15 Gold), and 1 Venom (-5 Gold). Staring Gold: 270 Money Made: 15 (15) Money Spent: 230 (50 + 60 + 70 + 20 + 10 + 15 + 5) Money Left: 55 Quote

CMP Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 (edited) Pockets jingling from selling off his Shiv to Dak, Atramor ambled through the marketplace as he had many times before. As usual, he skimmed over Portia's Potion Shack....he could heal himself now, couldn't he? No, what really caught his eye, with a grin, was Elphaba's Magic Wagon. He doubted she'd offer him a Witchly discount, but as he approached the travelling shop, he couldn't help but feel....at home. He lifted a gem from her wares - a shimmering Opal. He handed over 100 gold to the wagon's owner, and walked briskly away. A rat shot skittered near his feet, heading for a crack in a nearby building...he spat at the vermin as it fled. Not as nearly as violent as the rats he was used to dealing with.... At Anwyl's Smith, he handed over the gem, Leechfeather, 220 coins, the Writ of Blacksmith's Service, and the Wooden Shield. He watched with crossed arms as the oversized dwarf re-tempered, sharpened, and enchanted the weapon, while storing away the Wooden Shield to be taken out of the new dagger's price. On a thought, he also has the smith remove the Garnet from the Black Katana, also to be added to the weapon, for another 50 gold. It was with a malicious glimmer in his eye as the bearded man handed over the new weapon. The pommel now had a shard of four different gems embedded within, while the blade constantly flickered between fiery red, both an intense and snowy blue and solid orange....to add to the venomous green light. The Witch hastily gave Anwyl another request - with a grumble, he added an inscription down the middle of the intentionally jagged blade. Ratsbane. - 100 for gem - 170 for adding WP - 50 for disenchantment - 100 for enchantment + 10 for Wooden Shield - 410 in all I believe that leaves 81 coins. I just edited the whole post to save 50 coins...all that math just to realize it's a Garnet in the Katana, not an Emerald. 131 coins, then. Edited April 12, 2012 by CallMePieOrDie Quote

He decides to return to the Hall for a moment to ask his fellow Heroes what he should buy. Quote
