CMP Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Atramor ambles out of the hall, into the marketplace. McCafferey points him in the direction of Portia's Potions, a place he'd passed very repeatedly but not once approached himself. "I'll 'ave one Grand Tonic," he states simply, pointing out the large red bottle and hoping that's what a tonic is. Portia nods, smiling brightly, and takes his 30 coins. Hopefully it would keep him full of Ether whilst in Dastan. Quote

Pandora Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Knowing she is travelling to Dastan, Nyx browses the stalls in the Marketplace, unsure where to spend her money first. She decides to first hand over her Blacksmith's Writ of Service to Anwyl to upgrade her Book of a Thousand Creatures to WP: 13 and while she's at it she sells the Longsword (WP: 6) for 30 gold giving her 215 gold to play with. That done, she spots a fascinating stall she hasn't seen before, filled with all the magical paraphernalia she could ever want, but sadly can't quite afford. Having considered her current elemental strengths, Nyx decides to buy a Garnet for 100 gold and a Healing Staff for 50 gold from Elphaba, leaving her pockets lighter at 65 gold. Remembering the trouble she'd had keeping her Ether topped up previously, she wanders over to Portia's and, after a brief exchange of pleasantries and chit-chat, buys two Grand Tonics for 60 gold leaving her with a paltry 5 gold. She does however feel far better prepared for the potential challenges ahead. Quote
LEGOman273 Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 *I have 67 Gold. I sell my Longsword (WP: 3) back to Anwyl for 15 Gold (WP x 5) to have 82 Gold (67 + 15 = 82). With my 82 Gold, I buy: From Portia's Potion Shack: 2x Potion (10 Gold) 3x Venom (15 Gold) 1x Grand Potion (10 Gold) 1x Mead (15 Gold) 1x Smoke Bomb (5 Gold) 1x Holy Bomb (10 Gold) From Gnomeo's Toolshed: 1x Bedroll (5 Gold) 1x Shovel (10 Gold) All together equals 80 Gold. I am left with 2 Gold.* Quote
Fugazi Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Galen headed to Portia's Potion Shack and bought a Remedy, a Venom and an Ice Bomb for a total of 25 Gold. 25 - 25 = 0 gold left. Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Leo Aragon, fresh from the Training room, heads straight to Elpahba. "Topaz and a Garnet please" Elpahaba hands him the two gems, 275- 200= 75 He then heads to Anwyl NAND asks him to take apart his saber, Draken's Fire so the gem is removed Leo then has 25Gold. He leaves the Marketplace to see a rogue about his sword. Quote
Palathadric Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 (edited) Eric rushes into the marketplace, about my business. Suddenly, I come rushing in behind him, peering over his should to make sure he follows my orders exactly and does not pocket any change or try to swindle me. He approaches Portia's Potion Shack. "I a need tonic for his eminence..." I nod approvingly. "...Monk Pretzel. Also a Phoenix Essence. That will cost a total of..." "65," I whisper to him. "65 gold," he says. I nod approvingly again. We head over to Gnomeo's Toolshed. "One bedroll for his honorary, Monk Pretzel," says Eric, "at the cost of 5 gold." I smile smugly. Eric was learning his role quickly. We bypass Anwyl Smokebeard's Smithy. The dwarf looks too evil. I stay a safe distance away while Eric approaches Elphaba's Magic Wagon. "A Nimbus Broomstick for the old man," he says disrespectfully, knowing that I cannot hear him. "That will cost 50 gold," says Elphaba. Eric hands over the coins and brings the items to me. "Good," I mutter. I then hand my staff over to Eric and he sells it for 15 gold. I have bought a Tonic, Phoenix Essence, Bedroll, and Nimbus Broomstick, and have sold my staff. I now have 169-15-50-5-50+15 gold=64 gold. Quickly I unfasted my cross from the staff and attach it to the broom stick. Ready to bash anyone into seeing the light. With that settled, I head over to the arena. Eric following me in tow, carrying my cart and my bounty. Edited April 21, 2012 by palathadric Quote
Flare Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 "I have a rare Jo-no Tree seed that I might be willing to part with... of course if I could get plenty of gold... what are your offers?" Quote
Sandy Posted April 22, 2012 Author Posted April 22, 2012 "Damnation! I should've left already!" cursed Elphaba as she got up and quickly slipped into her black velvet dress. Anwyl Smokebeard patted the empty spot on the bed that the witch had left. "Come on, why are you always in such a hurry? How about another round of fierce witch-on-dwarf love, eh?" "Bah, we already had three rounds last night! You are insatiable, Anwyl, and you certainly are no dwarf! No, I really must leave now. The Coven is waiting, and they do not like to wait..." Without even a word of goodbye, Elphaba left the smith's house. Soon the horseless magic wagon was seen driving out of the Marketplace. It would be another half an year before it would be seen again. ~Elphaba's Magic Wagon has left the Marketplace.~ Quote
Flare Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 OOC: Sandy, is it possible for me to bargain with one of the shop-owners for my Jo-no tree seed? Or can I just sell it to them for 80 gold like it says on the treasury? Quote
Flare Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Ignore the last post, sorry I buy the following items from the marketplace: 2x Grand Potion = 10x2 = 20 gold 2x Mead - 15x2 gold = 30 gold 1x Venom = 5 gold 1x Smoke Bomb = 5 gold = 214 gold - 60 gold = 154 gold remaining I also want to merge my amethyst and my opal with my Crossbow: Merge weapon with amethyst = 50 gold Merge weapon with opal = 50 gold = 154 gold - 100 gold = 54 gold remaining "Thats all for today, glad to do business with ya. Poison Ivy Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 Alisha walks into the Marketplace, clutching her head with 135 Gold clinking in her pockets as she did. First, she looks on sadly as she sells Svek (WP:3) for 15 Gold. The weapon had served her well, but she had to move on. Then, shesells her Broadsword (WP:6), for 30 Gold. She doesn't mind this sale as much as her previous one; the weapon had barely seen any action, and didn't hold any meaning for her. With this done, and walking away with 180 Gold, Alisha sets her only remaining weapon, the Draugr's axe of bone and metal, onto the counter of Anwyl's smithy, along with 110 Gold for the service of upgrading it to WP:11 and very detailed plans on how to rebuild it. Then, she proceeds to Portia's Potion Shack, picking up four Meads, costing her 60 Gold. With 10 Gold left, she buys two Potions. She then walks back, thanks Anwyl for the upgrade and metal-plating of the Bone Axe, along with the new shape of the blade. She has 0 Gold left, but she is confident that she won't be defeated in fair combat again. OOC: 135+15+30=180, 180-110=70, 15 x 4 = 60, 70-60=10, 10-10 = 0. Quote
swils Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Striding into the marketplace, Thormanil pays a visit to Anwyl's Smithy. 'Ello Anwyl! I've got here two fine sets of blades, which I'm sure you can craft into a fine profit! I'll trade you this Dull Greataxe(WP:3), and these sharp Twin Katanas(WP:3), for a mere 15 gold each!" Thormanil: 192 gold + 15g + 15g = 222 Gold Quote
Bioniclover Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Knifk strolls into the open-air market near Heroica Hall, looking for a suit of newer and lighter armor, as his old plate was getting dented, rusty, and too small. Before doing this, he stops at Anwyl's and drops off Tfel and Aegis, instructing the dwarf impersonator to increase their power. He also tosses his Wind and Floral bombs to Portia. (2x Bomb sold = 10 Gp. 331+ 10 = 341 Gp. WP:9 - 10= 100 Gp. 341 Gp - 100 Gp= 241 Gp. SP:6 - SP:9 = 240 Gp. 241-240 Gp = 1 Gp.) It takes him awhile, but he eventually finds a rockling selling exotic armor and weaponry from the far East, where he purchased a dou, or a breastplate made out of strips of fauxthril scales tied together with leather strips and covered in lacquer to prevent rust, as well as new armored boots and some chain mail. He then returns to Anwyl and picks up his shield and sword. The shield has been reshaped into a traditional kite shape and his old, nicked scimitar has been reforged with trace amounts of Mythril laced in to increase its strength. A pair of dragon teeth he had picked up from the Ancient Dragon they fought had been attached to the guard, and the round Garnet set in the pommel shimmered with an orange light. The whole weapon hummed with seismic energy, as if the gemstone weren't enough to remind him of its Earth properties. Pleased, he began a trek to Heroica's Training Room, ready to advance his career. Sandy Posted May 7, 2012 Author Posted May 7, 2012 A green-clad woman with a large basket approached Anwyl Smokebeard's smithy. "Excuse me, kind smith, but what kind of a ranged weapon would you recommend to a lass like me?" the young woman inquired. The smith raised his bushy eyebrows. "It depends... Can you draw a longbow?" he asked. "No, I don't think so." "Load a handcannon?" "That sounds loud. And loud noises are a big no-no for me nowadays" the woman said, nodding towards the basket she was carrying. "Throw a shuriken?" "No, I don't want any sharp pointy objects lying around." "Alrighty then, it's a crossbow for you, Miss." Anwyl grabs a shiny Fauxthril Crossbow from the rack behind him and hands it to the woman. "Silent, easy to load, and only the bolts are sharp and pointy. It's yours for 50 gold." The woman puts the basket down, takes the crossbow from the smith and weighs it in her hand. "I'll take it" she says with a smile, pointing Anwyl with the crossbow. "But can you please merge it with an Emerald and upgrade it to a power of six as well? Here's 160 gold to cover the expenses. I'll come fetch it later, it's feeding time now." The woman hands the confused Anwyl the gold, picks up the basket and hums a soft melody to whatever she carries in it as she walks away. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Guts walked in the Marketplace, his first stop was at Portia's Stall, who blushed after the rogue winked when he walked up to her. He bought 2 grand potions (2 x 10 = 20),6 meads (6 x 15 = 90 gold), 3 Smelling salts (3 x 25 = 75 gold) and 3 Nostrums (3 x 35 = 105 gold). Guts counted out 290 gold, and carefully placed all the mixtures in his bag, he would sort them out later. Before he left, he also sold his Ice Bomb, for 5 gold.(1087 gold - 290 gold + 5 gold = 802) Guts then stopped by the blacksmith, where he choose a pre-made Throwing Knife, (50 gold), which Guts had infused with the Diamond he carried with him (50 gold), and then upgraded to WP:8 (60+70+80 = 210 gold). Guts also had his shortsword, which was once inscribed with "Lifestealer" upgraded to WP:12 (90+100+110+120 = 420 gold) The rogue was now much better equipped, and had 72 gold left. Quote
JimBee Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Hybros stepped out to the marketplace. It was time to restock on potions and upgrade his many weapons. He also needed to unload some of the gold that was weighing him down. Starting with 1938 gold, he first visited Portia's Potion Shack. He picked out 6 Grand Potions, 7 Potions, and 2 Remedies. He placed 115 gold on the counter and stuffed the bottles into his sack. Next he headed to Anwyl's. He unsheathed all of his weapons except for the Shuriken of Mercutio and placed them on the table. "I would like this scythe to be upgraded to WP: 12, and the throwing knives, bladerang, and throwing dagger all to WP: 8, please, eheheh." The blacksmith took the weapons, and began work on them. It was a few hours before they were finished, but Hybros didn't mind waiting outside. Zoot's Reaper was sharper than ever, and his throwing weapons had a new sheen to them. Pleased with the results, the imp poured 940 gold onto the counter. Departing with 883 gold, Hybros felt much better equipped and much lighter. Quote
Jedi master Brick Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Elgar had money to spend so he upgraded his crossbow for 100 gold at the forge then went of to Portia's store Where he bought a Phoenix Essence and 4 potions for 70 gold. Elgar spent 170 gold leaving him with 62 gold Quote
Masked Builder Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Alexis walks into the marketplace, and heads over to Portias. "Hello, Portia I'm going to need a Grand Tonic please." "Alright that will be thirty gold." She hands over the gold, (132-30=102), and heads back to the hall, ready for their quest. Quote
Endgame Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 I staggered into the marketing place, weary from my children-saving venture. I desperately needed sleep and nothing to sleep in except sweaty robes. Thus, I was left with one option. I skulked over to Gnomeo's shed, camouflaged in the dark of night by the excessive amount of cloaks I used to hide my true appearance. The next morning, Gnomeo would be puzzled to find that his stock of bedrolls had gone done one, but with a small note and 5 gold in it's place: Enjoy the funds. 366 - 5 = 361 Quote
Myrddyn Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 (edited) Erik stops by the marketplace on his way back to the hall. He walks straight to the blacksmiths. "Hey Mr, my names Erik." 'My names Anwyl. I'm a dwarf. Were you just stopping to talk, or did you want something?' I've heard your good at making and improving weapons. Do you think you could strengthen this spear a bit, and maybe put a spike on just under the head, here? Oh, and while your at it, could you paint it to stop it getting rusty?" 'Sure, but it wouldn't be cheap. 300 gold. I'll have it ready by this evening.' "Lucky I've got enough, then." Erik hands over 300 gold. (60+70+80+90 for upgrading a spear from WP5 to WP 9) "I'll stop by later to pick it up, thanks, Mr Anwyl." gold before: 307. gold after: 7 Edited May 26, 2012 by Myrddyn Quote
Costy Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 (edited) Walking into the marketplace, I sell my Club (WP 3) to some kid for 15 gold leaving me with a total of 287. I than walk to some guy with a stupid looking beard and upgrade my axe from WP 5 to 8 for a cost of 210 Gold. (60 + 70 + 80 = 210) That leaves me with a total of 77 Gold (287 - 210) Edited May 26, 2012 by Costy Quote
Tachyon Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 (edited) Mizuki walks into the market place and goes to blacksmith. First she sells her katana for 15 goldleaving her with a total of 340. Then she tells the "dwarf" to upgrade her dagger for 300 gold (60+70+80+90 for upgrading a dagger from WP5 to WP 9) She walks to Gnomeo's tool shed and buys a shovel and a pick(30+10=40) leaving her with no gold at all. When she returns to the blacksmith, she sees her dagger's blade has been extended making it like a short sword but sharper then most normal swords. She thanks the dwarf and goes off to look for hot chocolate. Edited May 26, 2012 by zakura Quote
xxlrocka Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 (edited) Drake wandered into the marketplace and browsed the things he could buy from Gnomeo's toolshed. He found something he really liked and that happened to be the bedroll. "Ooh! I need one of these!" Drake buys the bedroll! So that would be....okay, now for some maths. If I have 297 gold, and 5 is taken off, then that would be....292. That was easy. Edited May 26, 2012 by xxlrocka Quote
