Althior walks into the marketplace after hearing of a new stall opening. As something catches his eye, he walks over to Portia, Fire and Ice bombs in hand.

"How much for these?" She points to the sign at the top of the topic stall, "Ah, right," He exchanges his bombs for 5 gold each, making 100 gold total. He then walks over to the new Artifact stall. "Hello, my good sir,"

"Ooooo... A Sage! I have something just for you!" He pulls out a pair of lime green gloves and is about to explain them to Althior when-

"Lime Green!" :wub_drool:Finnegan takes out Althior's pouch of 100 gold and hands it to Fabian, in exchange for the Spellbound gloves, leaving him with 0 gold.

"These, better be worth it, Finnegan, or I'm going to slap you with these!"

...Marketplace. Boomingham hums one of his tuneless tunes.

Boomingham stopped off at Portia's Potion Shack first. He grins at her.

"Howdy, little lady. I figured that I should drop off and give you a few more wares to peddle. They don't do me any good anyway."

Boomingham drops his one potion (+2 gold) his two holy bombs (+10 gold) and his one venom off (+2 gold). This left Boomingham's satchel lighter, but his coin purse heavier with 109 pieces of gold.

Boomingham then makes his way over to Fabian's new shop.

"Hello, my good sir," Boomingham says, leaning on the counter easily. "How are you today? I've got an offer or two for you. Before we do anything, however, I'll buy those Counterstrike Gloves off of you." Boomingham forks over the appropriate 80 gold, leaving him with only 29. His confident grin didn't waver.

"Now, I've got two items you might be interested in. This here is a Thorny Diadem. Bought it off my good friend Nur, don't recall where he said he found it, but you're bound to like it. It gives you quite the head rush. I'd be willing to part with it for 120 gold. For the life of me, I can't recall how much that conniving little chap stole from me when he sold it, so I'm probably giving you a huge bargain."

"This dress uniform is near brand new. Costs 150 gold in the store I bought it from, but, and here's a secret, I doubt Swisshopper will be as friendly next time Heroica comes knocking at his door. So I'm going to cut my own throat open here and sell it to you for 175 gold. Knock the price up to 200 gold when you sell it, and we'll both be making a nice profit."

Fabian lets out a phony laugh.

"Ahahaha, you must've been born a jester, milord! You are trying to sell these items to me at the price I could perhaps manage to sell them forward. Where is my profit? I will offer 60 gold for you on the diadem, and 75 gold for the uniform. Do we call that a deal, sire?"

Johon walks into the marketplace to see what all the commotion is about. at first he can't see anything different, then he notices a new shop at a different part of the marketplace, a shop with a strange looking elf in a pink suit. He notices some things he'd like to buy, though some he does not have the money to do so, the heavy armor, which he fits on him, but too expensive, the hunter's quiver when he trains for hunter, the sticky gloves which could help him a lot, and the witch's talisman. He couldn't afford these, and decided to keep his money and save for some of the better items, most likely the sticky gloves first to help him get more gold.

"Ah, I can see you're a true business man, much like myself, so you'll understand that I can't go as low as you say, or else I'd be losing money. I've got to at least make back the money I spent on them. Let me sell you the diadem for 80 gold, and you can sell it for 120 gold then, making yourself a nice profit. The dress uniform... well, it was 150 originally, so I can't go lower than that, but I can meet you at that. What do ya say?"

A passionate gleam flares in the elf's hazel eyes. This was businessmaking at it's best for Fabian!

"Ahem, you must not be aware of my business methods, milord. I sell the items I buy at twice the price I spent on it. I can buy the thorny diadem for the 80 gold you offered, but there is no way anyone would buy the uniform from me for 300 gold, so you've got no deal with it."

Fabian hands Lord Boomingham 80 gold and takes the diadem.

"Pleasure," says Booomingham with a grin. He gives Fabian's hand a hearty shake before heading back to Portia's shack. He shells out 30 gold for 2 more Meads (79 gold remaining).

I enter the marketplace whistling giddily. There is a new vendor selling, of all things, artifacts. I peruse his wears. Mr. Fabian, sir. I would like you to have a look at these items I would like to sell. I have here a incredible helmet that came from the head of the Great Draugr himself and his shield too. What say you to giving me thirty gold for the two of them. I fought hard for these two items and would hate for them to go to waste. Don't fear. If you purchase these items from me at said price, I will be sure to frequent your shop and purchase one or two of your other more costly items. What say you to this offer?"

Fabian smiles, and nods.

"You've got yourself a deal, Good Friar."

Fabian hands over 30 gold and takes the Viking Helmet and the Arm-Mounted Shield from Monk Pretzel.

"Grand! Just grand. I can see you're an honourable fellow, yourself, elf! This armour is all yours. And now I will fulfil my word to you and purchase that elegant Tricorn from you. It's a smart looking hat and, despite it's soft appearance, will make for a great piece of defense. Any chance you could go down to 102 coins on it?

En Sabah Nur purchases Heavy Armour for 230 gold (948-230=718). The weight of the armor felt good. He takes off the armor and has Fabian weave the magic of his Scroll of Blindness and Scroll of Sealing into his new item for 100 gold (718-100=618). "Now for the gem and my defense will be complete. Until then, this Sealed Heavy Armour of Brilliance (SP:5, Immune[fragile, sealed, blinded]) shall do just fine. I'll be back..."

OoC: You can only haggle when selling artifacts to Fabian. You have to buy the items at their marked price. Otherwise the only thing I would have time to do is haggle with you guys over every single potion.

How did you know potions would be my next stop?

"You cannot go down on it. Ah, well! I suppose I shall just have to dig a bit deeper in my purse." I shuffle through the contents of my cart and finally produce the desired coin. "Here, take it." I hand him the coins. He hands me the tricorn. I smile in delight, placing it in my cart for the time being until I can try it on later.

I purchase the Tricorn off of Fabian for 120 gold. 402-120=282 gold remaining.

Tesni entered the bustling marketplace and found the sales board. Tacking a piece of parchment to it she nodded her satisfaction.

Spiked Club (WP:8), wooden club (WP:2) For sale. See Tesni Hightribe.

Then she visited Anwyl. "Ave smithy, might I trouble you to add some gemstones to my weapons. I would like to combine this Topaz with my hammer." She removed both items, "Also, my blade with this diamond." Tesni drew dryw and placed the diamond alongside it. "That will be 100 gold yes? Which leaves me 655 gold from my total of 755."

Tesni browsed the marketplace as the items she left were smithed. Upon her return two mighty weapons awaited her. The hammer crakcled with lightning energy and Dryw had taken on a celestial sheen. "Much appreciated." Tesni bowed to the smith and returned to the hall. It was time to introduce her weapons to her friends.

Jess walked into the section of the marketplace that was frequented by Heroica Heroes, her gold burning a hole in her coinpurse. A new stall caught her eye; a fellow in pink seemed to be selling trinkets to a mob of heroes who seemed to be practically throwing gold in his face. Curious, Jess pushed and shoved her way to the front of the crowd to see what all the fuss was about.

"Hello, fellow elf. What are you selling that attracts such a ferocious mob of customers?"

Fabian caught Jess's eye, and a smile branched across his lips as he answered.

"Hail, my fair brethren. What is it that I'm selling you ask? Only the finest artifacts in Eubric Freeport of course! Can I interest a beautiful maiden such as yourself in this trendy handbag? It goes with your outfit and protects you from bad effects! Oh, but you look like the 'tough roguish type'. Perhaps these sticky gloves are more to your taste? With all the gold you'll be pilfering off the corpses of your enemies, they'll pay for themselves in no time! Why yes, I think that these are perfect for you! I'll sell them to you for the discounted price of 500 gold. What do you say?"

Jess had stopped listening about halfway through Fabian's sales pitch and had started looking through his wares. Most of the "finest artifacts in Eubric Freeport" seemed to be nothing she could use; those she turned her nose up at immediately. One item did catch her eye, however...

"I want those Pugilist's Gloves. MOAR POWER is always good. And at 80 gold, how could I say no?"

Jess then forked over 80 gold to a slightly disappointed Fabian and headed to find Anwyl's smithy.

(716-80=636)

Jess strode to the stall of Anwyl, who seemed to be sweating over one of his Fauxthril weapons. Jess waited patiently for him to finish, but soon lost that patience.

"Ahem. Anwyl? Yes, hello. How're you today? Nevermind, I don't really care. I need you to upgrade Blohdhurm here to WP: 14 please. I'll be by when it's done. Oh, and do be careful, I had it permanently poisoned on my latest quest.

"Harrumph! Elves and their superiority complexes..." Anwyl muttered as he got to work on Jess's sword. He was soon done, and Jess stopped and grabbed it before heading back to the hall.

(636-100-110-120-130-140=36 gold remaining)

Boomingham gives Jess a friendly nod and wink as he passes by her on the way to the smith's.

"Good day, chappo. Look what I picked up?" Boomingham shows off his garnet with a flick of his wrist. "Want to put it in this?" Boomingham places his King of the Desert on the counter of the stall.

The smith grumbles, but takes the sword and does his work while Boomingham leans against the stall's wall and picks his teeth. Soon, the smith hands back the blade which now has a sprinkling of garnet brown in the blade, along with the ruby and amethyst in the hilt.

"Thank you. This shall serve me well." Boomingham slides the sword into the top of the two scabbards on his hip.

Tesni once again visited Anwyl. "Can I combine this Opal with my warhammer Anwyl? Your work is top notch and this hammer would look mighty fine with two elements." She paid out 50 gold for the work, leaving her with 605 gold. She watched as the smith affixed the gemstone and marvelled at how the heat and tools turned her hammer into an ever more powerful tool.

Eric walked into the marketplace. It was teeming with people, crawling about like ants. Just a normal day in a bustling commercial hive like Eubric city. The Nord's pockets were filled to the brim, his last Quest had been a good one. He was eager to spend some of it, his equipment was in dire need of upgrading if he was to keep up with the top heroes of the Hall.

First, Eric went to visit Anwyl's shop. There, he handed over his trusty sword Godricsleif to the Dwarf. The blacksmith was seemingly surprised by its heavy weight and dropped the blade. With lots of huffs and puffs and a great effort, he managed to pick the blade back up, but before he was finally able to do so, the Dwarf was struck by an icy bolt emanated by the blade. Godricsleif refused to abandon its one and only master, Eric. In a soothing voice, the Nord whispered to his blade and handed it over to a fearful Anwyl. Reluctantly he accepted. He then set to work on the sword, perfecting its shape and imbuing Eric's Amethyst.

Eric upgrades Godricsleif to WP: 13 and imbues the Amethyst for a total cost of - 300 gold (120+130+50).

As Anwyl decides to work on Godricsleif, Eric decides to stroll around the market. Not having any use for the Soma on him, he decides to visits Portia's Shack to get rid of it. While he's there, he also decides to stock up on some consumables.

Eric sells his Soma, earning + 22, bringing his total to 1073. He then buys 10 Grand Potions (-100) and 5 Smelling Salts (-125). This leaves him with 848 gold left.

Curious about the new shop, Eric decides to check out the wares there, as well. Finding some stuff to his liking, he drops some gold there too.

Eric buys Sticky Gloves (-500). After a heavy afternoon of spending, Eric is left with 348 gold.
