Scorpiox Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 A big Norseman came strolling casually down the marketplace, looking out for a particular stall. Once he had located it. the Nord called out with a cheery greeting. "Har, Fabian, I return again! Trade been good? I find myself in need of something more, think that you can provide?" Haldor rumaged around in the Elf's goods for a little bit, before finding what he was looking for, some big gear that he knew he could put to good use. "Yes, these Pugilist's Gloves will do just nicely. 80 gold pieces, just for you. Good to be buying from you again, your services always manage to please. I'll be sure to make good use of these, and I will be happy to visit your shop again if I ever feel the need for your unique trading experience at a later date. Goodbye and fair luck, brother." Haldor departed from Fabian's magical shop with some shiny new items and and a lack of gold, while the Elf was good, he sure wasn't cheap. Quote
Sisco Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Jess walked into the marketplace, anticipating a lot of damage due to her party bound for the Fields of Glory was lacking in a cleric. She soon arrived at Portia's stall. "Hello, Portia! Your hair looks lovely today! I'd like three grand potions, please." Jess then forked over the thirty gold, leaving her nearly penniless but ready for battle. (36-10-10-10=6) As she was walking back to the Hall, she ran into Haldor. "Nice gloves, darling! We match!" Jess exclaimed as she brought her Pugilist's Gloves out of her bag. Quote
-obelix- Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 (edited) Every good adventurer knows that preparations are esential... So Lanae walked to Gnomeo's Toolshed... "May I purchase a bedroll please!?" "NO! Nyehnyeh... Yes! 5 gold elfy!" Smiled a gnome wickedly, while reaching for a bedroll. Lanae pulled 5 gold from his pouch and purchased a bedroll. 10 - 5 = 5 gold left. Edited August 11, 2012 by -obelix- Quote
Sandy Posted August 11, 2012 Author Posted August 11, 2012 At the hall Ellaria had heard news of a new shop opened at the Marketplace. She was interested to see if there was anything there that could potentially help her in a quest. She saw several items of interest, but most of them were out of her price range. It was ages since she had last went on a quest, and all her earnings at the apotechary had gone to providing food for herself and Elpis, so she didn't have much gold to splurge. Suddenly a voice behind her made her jump. It was the shopkeeper, a soft-spoken elf with long golden hair dressed in silk. Oddly enough, the elf also had moustache - fashionably curled, of course. He looked at Ellaria like a hungry beast, with gold gleaming in his almond-shaped eyes. "How can I be of service, Miss Sweetness? I recognize your dresses as those of a druid - and what a fine choice of fabric, I must say! This White Cloak would look absolutely dashing on top of that garment, wouldn't you agree?" "Maybe, but is it useful? As a healer, I'm dependent on my ability to weave ether. I know some monsters out there can seal one's connection to ether. Do you have anything to prevent that?" "Ah, then it is this enchanted scarf you are looking for! I will sell it to you at the greatly reduced price of 40 gold, Miss Sweetness." Unphased by the elf's overflowing compliments, Ellaria took the Mage's Muffler from the merchant and paid the price of 40 gold for it, leaving her with 22 gold. Now she was immune to sealing, so nothing could come in the way of her and her goddess. "Except my own doubts", Ellaria thought bitterly. Quote
Palathadric Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 I stroll back into the hall, upon realizing that I was to be going "a-questing" again. I seem to be in high demand these days, I smirk. I browse the wears of Gnomeo's Toolshed. "Pitiful amount of equipment," I mutter. "Do you ever restock your shelves. Is this really all you have to offer?!?" I pick out a magnifying glass. "Hardly worth the thirty pieces of gold it costs, but since you can't be expecting any more business today, I will take it off of you. You really must consider adding a greater variety of items to this toolshed of yours. Your variety of items will hardly encourage anyone to purchase something from you. I do not even see how you get the money to rent this stall of yours." I then head over to Portia's Potion Shack and pick out three Remedies. "I will take these for now, but expect me back in the near future. Perhaps for some bombs." I depart from the market having spent 60 gold for a Magnifying Glass and Three Remedies. 132-60=72 gold remaining. Quote

Palathadric Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I rush into the market place, hurriedly picking up 2 Grand Tonics, and tossing a bag containing 60 coins on the table. Without exchanging a word with anyone, I am gone. Portia looks up somewhat puzzled, but is not about to complain, having gotten the right amount of gold. I purchase 2 Grand Tonics. 72-60=12 Gold Remaining. I love living on the edge! Quote
Quarryman Posted August 13, 2012 Posted August 13, 2012 Eager to spend some of the gold she'd gotten on her latest quest Namyrra went to the marketplace and sought out Fabian. "Hello there mr elf, I hear you have some fancy garments for sale?" Not waiting for him to answer she grabbed a Robe of the Archmagi and inspected it closely. "Yes, this is marvellous indeed, and I hear it also can protect me against being sealed? Sounds like a great deal to me!" Namyrra proceeded to throw 300 gold in Fabian's general direction and walked off with her new robe. Quote

Flipz Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Arthur casually wanders through the marketplace, stopping short when he sees Fabian's new stall. "Well, that's new..." Without hesitating, Arthur dropped 300 Gold on the man's counter in exchange for a Robe of the Archmagi. Seeing Anwyl eying him suspiciously from across the Marketplace, Arthur thanks Fabian and rushes over to the smithy. "Well?" "Not as useful as I'd hoped, I'm afraid," Arthur said, handing over his Staff of Elven Necromancy. With a grunt that sounded suspiciously like "told you so," the "dwarf" handed over 25 gold for the blackened stick. Realizing he had debts to settle, Arthur headed back to the Hall before temptation could get the better of him. Quote
Tanma Posted August 17, 2012 Posted August 17, 2012 (edited) IC: De'kra walked into the marketplace, which seemed quite a bit bigger than when he last saw it. First thing first, the echo walked over to Portia's stand, to restock his supplies. From the selection echo chose 10 potions (-50), 2 Phoenix Essences (-100), 2 remedies (-20), 3 grand potions (-30), and 2 smoke bombs (-10). Now loaded with supplies and 210 gold shorter, the echo moved to the next stall. Walking to the forge, De'kra nodded to the smith, and deposited a massive (for him) 390 gold, and handed him Chiara, Kapura, and the hand cannon. The echo watched carefully as flames danced about Kapura and Chiara as their weapon power increased to WP: 7, as did the cannon. For once he might actually do so damage to foes. Maybe. Finally De'kra glanced at the new stand, where artifacts stood strange and exotic. "Get that locket." De'kra paused, before muttering, "What enamor mean?" "Almost nothing. It is almost useless to you. But it might prevent a repeat of the Rito fight." De'kra winced as he remembered letting his heroes down because of his indecision. With a nod he traded 40 gold for a heart locket, hoping it could indeed prevent another situation. But as he bought the object, he noticed that this stall could merge a scroll into an artifact, which would protect the wielded from the scroll's affect. Truthfully he had bought the scroll from Arthur since he had heard of the Mage's debts, and hoped not to add to them. But now he might have use from it. Still, he might as well see if a Mage or cleric wants it first, before merging it. So for now as he entered the hall, he still had 75 gold. OOC: De'kra's voice, reminding us that love is not confined to romance since 2012. Edited August 17, 2012 by Tanma Quote
CMP Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 (edited) Atramor ambled around the marketplace, and as usual vaguely browsed the wares, but stopped quite suddenly at one of the many shop alcoves. From the inside came an eye-watering array of garments. Also from there strode an odd-looking elf, who looked...well, quite pleasred at the sight of another customer. This must be the Fabian he'd heard of. With a shrug, he lifted the dusky, but nonetheless golden Ancient Crown from his head, holding it up to the tailor. "Er, hello. Any chance I could get this thing priced? Ya' won't find another like it, pried it off the skull of a twice-deceased Dastanian emperor myself. It's a nice piece of equipment, but I'm afraid that my Witchly abilities make it a bit...redundant." Edited August 18, 2012 by CallMePie Quote
Tanma Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 IC: De'kra made his way into the marketplace once more, and approached the artifact stand. Handing over fifty gold, De'kra watched as the Scroll of Confusion's power flowed deep into his locket. Now he would be protected from both confusion, and enamored effects, whatever the latter meant. "That won't make Olegaia more understandable." De'kra paused, but it was too late to remove the power now. Besides, it still might have benefits. Quote
Endgame Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I skulk over to Fabian's new stall, and begin browing the wares. I keep my hood especially low, knowing he'd probably make some dreadful fashion comment if he saw my face. I grab a pair of sticky gloves and leave 500 gold on the counter. 603-500=103 gold. Quote

Arthur happens to look into the Marketplace just in time to see Atramor pull out the Ancient Crown. Excusing himself from Cronk for a moment, Arthur rushes over and says, "I hate to put myself further into debt, but...would you mind letting me have that crown for a while? It'd suit my style a lot better, and though I don't have NEARLY enough Gold to pay you now, as you yourself said the Gold will be pouring in soon." Quote
CMP Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 (edited) Atramor stops, turns, and blinks at Arthur. With a shrug, he holds out the Crown to him. "I don't see why not. Hope you're not too superstitious, nobody that is likes weapons or artifacts with troubled pasts. I say they're just missin' out on opportunity." He handed off the Crown to Arthur - but his trip to the marketplace wasn't a total waste. He looked around briefly inside Fabian's, pulling out a pair of Counterstrike Gloves. He examined them for a moment, then pulled them on. The stark blue color contrasted terribly with his outfit, but...oh well. Handing 80 gold to Fabian, he set back off for the hall. Waterbrick Down Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Skrall wandered amongst the vendors of the marketplace pausing for a moment in front of the newest shop, as the elf made his way to greet his newest customer he took a few steps back in surprise at the size of the Ogre that stood outside his shop. Having run out of bolts in his last quest, Skrall decided it was time for a newer quiver and thus picked out a Hunter's Quiver (249-240=9) as he continued to purouse the wares his eyes caught the glint of white feathers. Picking up the Winged Sandles, Skrall recognized the intricate coloring of what appeared to be Rito feathers, "Hmm... poached or traded I wonder?" Skrall thought to himself. Reaching into his satchel he felt the Zoot's Cookie slowly shape itself into 75 gold pieces with these he paid the elf (75+9-80=4), laced the sandles to his ankles as they were definately not his shoe size, and made his way back to the hall.
