Scubacarrot Posted May 21, 2014 Posted May 21, 2014 Guts sells his Gold Chalice, Gold Bar and Black Pearl for 70+50+75=195 gold. (1430+195=1625) He then strolls over to Anwyl. "The usual, mate." Anwyl upgrades Lifestealer two times (330+340 = 670 gold). Then, Guts pulls out his 4 pieces of Mithril and hand it over to Anwyl along with another 100 gold. (1625-770=855) "Let's see how this works." The 'dwarf' stokes his fires and reforges Lifestealer along with the Mithril. Soon, the work is done and there lays a new blade, with a blue metallic edge with it. "Hmpf. Lifestealer. I hate that name. Should think about renaming that thing." Finally, Guts used 16 grating stones to sharpen up the blade, bringing the blade up to WP: 60 Quote
Sandy Posted May 22, 2014 Author Posted May 22, 2014 Alexandre journeys to Fabian after his quest, an armfull of items with him. "Fabian, here's a deal:" Eyepatch for 20 gold. Heavy Armor (SP: 5, immune to fragile, suitable for suitable for barbarians, knights, dragoons, skirmishers and regulators) for 175 gold. "Mr. Pretty Knight, I'd advise you to look at my prices, since I already stock both of these items. I am willing to take them from your hands for 10 gold and 115 gold, respectively." The 'dwarf' stokes his fires and reforges Lifestealer along with the Mithril. Soon, the work is done and there lays a new blade, with a blue metallic edge with it. "Hmpf. Lifestealer. I hate that name. Should think about renaming that thing." OoC: You should rename the weapon "Mythril [something]" so it can be discerned as being already mythrilized (ie. you cannot spend another mythril on it). Quote

Thormanil slides 5 gold across the counter along with the axe. After a short while, Anwyl hands him back the Topaz. Remove Topaz, -50. Sell Thundering Totem(WP9), +45. Lind Whisperer Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 (edited) The lone Rogue quietly stepped in front of Portia's Potion Shack, set five gold down onto the counter, and selected a Potion. "Could I purchase this, please?" "Certainly! Thank you! Come again! Wait, I did put the potions into the bottles with potion labels, didn't I? Oh, well, venoms and poisons all sort of do the same thing, right?" Lind looked at the bottle with slight distrust, then he tucked it away into the folds of his clothes. He walked down the cobbled road, the rain gently beginning to beat and splash on the stones. He stopped in front of Gnomeo's Toolshed, just as the gnome was beginning to close up the stall for the night. "Could I please purchase a bedroll?" "Bedroll? What do you t- Nyehehe! Right! Here's an old sack, will that do? Fine, fine - here's your bedroll. That'll be five gold." Now broke, but with a moderate beginning inventory, Lind began to walk through the rain towards the Library. He noticed that a bedroll was perhaps not the best thing to hold over his head to block the rain... Edited July 15, 2014 by Lind Whisperer Quote

Flipz Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 OOC: I swear, I originally came in here to buy something, but then I realized I didn't want it. Sorry! Arthur wanders through the Marketplace, idly browsing its wares. Once, most of the items in this trove of wealth had held great appeal to him. Now...now they were fascinating trinkets, nothing more. Out of politeness more than anything, he examines Portia's wares, but he had transcended such material needs...at least, for the most part. Does any of this really help me? he wonders. Does it help anyone? Or is it merely a grab for money, preying upon those who would seek power? Arthur continues to loiter, always careful not to provoke any of the shopkeepers' ire by remaining in one place too long. This place does not make me powerful. No, the place that makes me strong is my place at the side of my friends. A stray thought crosses his mind: "Perhaps, then, this is where I should stay." Arthur stops and stands stock-still, at the very center of the square, considering. No, he concludes at last, that is not true. The only place like that for him would be the Library...and to stop now, so close to his encounters with Seerus and the Oculoids, would feel too much like giving up, letting The Regret win. Even if his armies stormed across the face of the earth and ground him into dust, Arthur would not give the being the satisfaction of having had any control over his life--if he died, his legacy would be a gnawing regret that would live past the end of the world. I wonder, though, if I did the right thing. Masson had appeared in the Hall just a few days after Arthur's return, yet he had refused to speak to the man. He had tried to avoid attracting the purple-clad Paragon's attention, but even he knew how silly it would be to believe he had gone unnoticed. A part of him had wanted to talk--to reminisce, to share a drink, to make some good-natured threats about being good to the woman who had somehow become one of his closest companions--but another part, a deeper, older part, knew it was for the best. Because he had seen. He knew what awaited Masson in the citadel, knew what lay at the end of the man's path...knew the pain he was about to face. Arthur knew better than to take his visions at face value, of course--Ella had told him as much. But one thing was clear: Masson Cour and pain trod the same course, and it seemed cruel to relay such to the man with no details to support it...especially not so soon before his wedding day. Arthur still remembered the worry he'd caused Karie when he'd last brought up the Spirit Pools, and he would not put her fiancee through the same thing. Consider it a wedding gift, Karie...seeing as I likely won't be there to witness it. I'm sorry. He wonders who Masson would choose as his best man--probably Octavyn, Arthur thought--but who would Karie select as maid of honor? Em? Arthur chuckles, the thought of Em in a dress amusing him immensely. I'd almost bow out of my Quest to see that. Almost. Arthur sits down next to one of the buildings, a smile on his face. That's what I'll focus on tonight, he decides. The happiness. He would enjoy, if only for a moment, that rare thing that money could not buy, what Masson had spent years of his life chasing but could never find: a quiet world. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 After an hour of strolling through the marketplace's wares, Lind sighed, and stretched his shoulders. So much gear, such high prices. Not to mention the small chances of finding a second Ethereal Deck to complement his current one. Perhaps, when he had finished his first quest, he could begin to outfit himself with a proper gear array. He noticed a Skirmisher sitting comfortably next to one of the buildings. He stepped over to where they were seated, and asked, "Excuse me, but would you mind if I sat down here as well?" Quote
Flipz Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Arthur awoke to an unfamiliar man asking for a seat. The night had passed quickly, it seemed, and already the sun marched toward the time of his new Quest. "Not at all, stranger," he replies. Looking over the man's garb, it was clear he was a Hero. "New to Heroica, are we? I don't suppose you'd be the rookie joining us in protecting the winery, would you?" Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Lind gratefully sat down, and nodded his head. "Yes, I am - and I suppose then, from your comment, that you would be the hailed Arthur Justus Regulus VII listed also as taking part?" Quote
Flipz Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 "'Hailed'? That's a new one, but yes, that's me." Arthur appraises the Rogue, noticing only one glaring omission. "Forgive me for asking, but--where's your weapon?" Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 (edited) "'Hailed'? That's a new one, but yes, that's me." Arthur appraises the Rogue, noticing only one glaring omission. "Forgive me for asking, but--where's your weapon?" Lind held up his Ethereal Deck. "These. The calling cards of my people." He looked at them, slightly regretfully. "I was window-shopping, to see if anyone had a Deck for sale, as a Secondary Weapon, but when all the merchants saw my raiment, they correctly assumed that I was a broke rookie, and didn't feel obligated to bring out their more...unique wares." (Partially)Ooc: Ethereal Cards are white(except for White Cards, which are black with white printing), with on the face side, a single border line of their color, and in the middle a small, also mono-color, image of the card's subject.
