Posted August 17, 201113 yr Hi, I recently bought the 8258 Crane Truck (A great set, to bad I waited this long to buy it) to part up and use for an upcoming Scania MOC. I'm just waiting for drawings from Scania :) But, to the topic: I want to build a full RC construction machine park in Technic minifig scale. I've been planing this for a long time, but buying the 8258 really kicked me to action. This is a presentation of the first mod, to make the 8043 compatible with a minifig. It's a simple mod that only took me about 15 minutes (making instructions, how ever, took a lot more time), and I don't know if it's been done before, but i included a instruction so anyone can do it after me. The instruction (as a .doc document) and more pics will soon be available on my Brickshelf. To accommodate a minifig I had to make the whole cabin longer, but i think i managed to keep an original look on it, so I'm quite pleased with it. I also thought about including pedals for the belt controls (the "4 long axles with stop" in front), but found there was to little space (might do it in the future though). But no more talk, here it is: Hope you enjoy this. Next up will be to include a variation of Jurgens 8043 mod, and make a working jackhammer for it. -ED- Edited September 9, 201113 yr by Nazgarot

August 18, 201113 yr Author My hammer uses a cam in it however there is a bit of wobble. Mine is done. It really packs a punch (hurts when i let it hit a fingernail), but is rather slow... I will start a new topic to present it shortly. -ED-
August 19, 201113 yr LEGO should add more Technic minifig's in it's sets IMO. Why don't they? Had a quick look on Brickset starting from 2011 going back a few years and can't find the last set that was released that included one. My son is always trying to put Technic minifig's in the sets I build, and either there's just no place for them as per design, or when a seat is in, he doesn't fit.

Many of to days sets are actually in Technic minifig scale, and it only needs slight modifications to include a seat with a minifig (As this proves). The last set i saw with a minifig was the Power puller. And the minifig from that set is really expencie on bricklink. I may buy one anyway though as I have set it as a goal to have all the technic minifig ever released. I had a complete collection until -95 when I went into my darkages, but was stupid enough t give it away... How i regret that desition! But anyway, Its looking better now, I have managed to collect about half the figs ever released again. -ED-
August 20, 201113 yr Has anyone pics of all the technic mini figures that were ever made or is there many?
August 20, 201113 yr Has anyone pics of all the technic mini figures that were ever made or is there many? Scroll through the two pages of "Technic Figure" items on Bricklink. Too bad there is no large Technic Figure version of "The Stig" minifig shown below (from the "Top Gear" TV series): Edited August 20, 201113 yr by DLuders

My son is always trying to put Technic minifig's in the sets I build, and either there's just no place for them as per design, or when a seat is in, he doesn't fit. Technic figures were phased out around 2003 or so, as well as the seats designed for them to fit in. Not sure why, as they fit very nicely into a lot of Technic models.
August 20, 201113 yr I demand a return of the Technic figs. They were awesome, they really brought a model to life.
August 21, 201113 yr I would like a construction man in technic figure, doesn't seem to be one tho,the power pullers man is my favourite Edited August 21, 201113 yr by davidmull

Too bad there is no large Technic Figure version of "The Stig" minifig shown below (from the "Top Gear" TV series): For those who are collecting I've composed a basic Excel list over all 29 figures released from TLG. You are free to edit and do what ever you want with it. It's a nice tool to keep a registry of your figures, and you can find it at my brickshelf folder as soon as it becomes public. It's the "...minifigs.xls" file. -ED-
