Hi!

I added Power Functions to my old Lego Train 7745.

Unfortunately, adding Battery Box and IR Receiver I had to remove some details :cry_sad: (see in the brickshelf gallery picture dsc01456.jpg) and use additional bricks (dsc01466.jpg).

Just buy another 8870 set (and probably a wire - 8886 set) I complete the gallery with the other 2 cars.

12v original bricks position (dsc01431.jpg, dsc01432.jpg):

My personal PF bricks position (dsc01429.jpg, dsc01430.jpg):

IR Receiver & Battery Box (dsc01437.jpg, dsc01442.jpg):

Very nice realization!

I like the new led system, very clever; but why don't you deeplink your pictures directly in your topic? It would be usefull.

Great work!

Done!

A Moderator could change topic title in "MOD: 7745 with Power Functions" and description in "Lego Train 7745 converted into PF Mode"?

Thanks

Thank you for the inspiration!

I did the same, just yesterday. I used my Buwizz box, which eliminated the need for an IR receiver.
But I did not swap out the lights and cabling.

What I was thinking, is could you reuse the existing cabling and lights, by creating an adapter cable from power functions to 12 v, by cutting a PF extension cord, and using the 2 outer (left and right) strands.
Would that work?

I tried the search, but I did not find something related to pf to 12 v conversion cable....

When I did mine, I removed the prisms and the LED lights go right through.  They don't allow the 1X1 clear plates to mount, but they do create a lot more light.  Your design is good as well!
