JimBee Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 *Sigh* I am growing tired of this. Why can't we land a good solid hit on these things? I will attack Bat B from the front row.
Masked Builder Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 "I shall attack the big rat from the back row."

Masked Builder Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 "Boy that battle was long! I'm glad that's over." "Should I take one of my potions?" "Shall we continue to aisle 3?"
JimBee Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Perhaps you should take a potion, Alexis. Let's search this aisle and move on to the next one.
Rufus Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 The venom goes to Boomingham. Perhaps you should take a potion, Alexis. Sounds a good idea! Let's search this aisle and move on to the next one. Haven't we already searched this one? If we have, let's move on to aisle 3, treading very carefully and looking out for tripwires and traps!
Sandy Posted August 29, 2011 Author Posted August 29, 2011 Having already searched the second aisle prior to the latest battle, the party now heads to the next aisle. At the far end of the aisle, they see a table with three guards playing cards and talking. The party eavesdrops their discussion. "Hey, was it Rover barking some time ago? Three Jacks." "Yeah, I think so... You know good ol' Rover, always barking at his own shadow. Here's a fourth Ace." "Haha, true! Hey, where did Huey and Simon go all of a sudden? Go fish, Bart." "I dunno, I thought they were going to check out that ruckus on the second aisle. That's a full house for you!" "Nah, they probably snuck away with a flask of Moonian wine again. Don't ask why, but I think those two have a thing going on with each other... if you know what I mean. UNO!" The party cannot advance further into the aisle without getting noticed by the guards. What will they do now?
CMP Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 "Hmmm. If we weren't sneaking, I'd suggest going to the the second aisle and push over the crates, crushing them, but somehow I think it'll be subtracted from our pay," Atramor whispers. "Maybe the Knight should distract him with his noble diplomacy crap and me or Hybros poison their drinks or something?"
JimBee Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 "Yes, I think Boomingham should try to reason with them. I'm sure they must be guarding something in this aisle, so we shouldn't just skip it and go to the fourth", Hybros whispered. "While he distracts them, the rest of us should take as quick look around for the crown insignia".
Rufus Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 "Yes, I think Boomingham should try to reason with them. I'm sure they must be guarding something in this aisle, so we shouldn't just skip it and go to the fourth", Hybros whispered. "While he distracts them, the rest of us should take as quick look around for the crown insignia". I doubt the Shadeaux guards can be reasoned with, but it's worth a try!
Khorne Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 What about the glowing thing sitting on their table? Is it just another bottle of booze or could it be somekind of bomb? If it's a bomb, maybe a Mage or Ranger could detonate from a distance. If not, then I second the idea of Boomingham distracting the guards while the Rogues try to poison them.
Sandy Posted August 30, 2011 Author Posted August 30, 2011 What about the glowing thing sitting on their table? Is it just another bottle of booze or could it be somekind of bomb? Squinting his eyes, Eric realizes his mistake and realizes the "glowing thing" is just a lantern. ( ) The party decides that Lord Lawrence Boomingham shall distract the guards with his diplomacy skill, while the others search through the crates. The problem with that tactic is that the guards will see the others if they enter the aisle, because Lord Boomingham is not that wide. If the party still wants to follow this plan, what will Lord Boomingham say to the guards?
Masked Builder Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 "Okay I shall take one of my potions then." "I'm not sure what to do though..."
Rufus Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Perhaps Boomingham could join in the game of UNO? ( ) And make sure the guards drink plenty, so they pass out? Or we could just attack them while they're off guard.
CMP Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Atramor shrugs. "Maybe we're Customs or something. Or better yet, we've been told a highly explosive crate is somewhere in this warehouse with a lit fuse. That'd scare the bats off their heads."
JimBee Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 How about Boomingham just goes in there alone, with us watching from right here? He could talk them into not attacking, while keeping an eye out for the crate we're looking for. If they do attack, we'll jump in and aid him. Oh, and he could try to get the guards to drink and pass out. But the plan is to have Boomingham go in and negotiate by himself, right?
Khorne Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 Squinting his eyes, Eric realizes his mistake and realizes the "glowing thing" is just a lantern. ( ) Whoops! Guess I should've now better . I could've sworn the lantern looked like the bombs they sold at the Eubric marketplace. How about Boomingham just goes in there alone, with us watching from right here? He could talk them into not attacking, while keeping an eye out for the crate we're looking for. If they do attack, we'll jump in and aid him. That's actually a pretty good idea. If we're lucky, Boomingham might even be able to persuade the guards to reveal if any crates of the Hinckwells are stored here. I second Hybros' idea of Boomingham checking out the crates that are with the guard. If he's attacked by them, we'll help him.
Sandy Posted August 31, 2011 Author Posted August 31, 2011 The party decides that Lord Boomingham would approach the guards and persuade them to reveal if there's any Hinckwell crates hidden in the warehouse. The portly knight just nods and marches down the aisle to the guards. "Greetings, gentlemen!" Lord Boomingham greets with a big grin on his face. "Who the hell are you?" one of the guards asks. "My name is Lord Lawrence Boomingham, you must have heard of me. Now I see you are in the middle of a game of cards. Mind if I join?" "Yes we mind! What are your doing here? This is a private warehouse with restricted access!" The guards start to raise up and reach for their weapons. "Why gentlemen, I am here to play cards! And drink! Now, is it my turn to deal?" Boomingham takes the deck of cards and starts shuffling it. "Listen here, Sir Eats-a-lot. If you don't get out right now, I swear..." "I'll bet my title and lands", Lord Boomingham quips in with a wink. "Y-you mean... I can be Lord Bart if I win?" one of the guards says. "I'm in!" "Bart, we shouldn't ..." his companions hesitate. "Sit down, you two! This man is a proper lord and a valiant knight, we can trust his word." The other two guards look at each other, and shrug. The game of cards begins. As Lord Boomingham plays, he looks around to see any markings on the crates. He doesn't spot any crown insignias, but three crates look different from any others. Boomingham memorizes the symbol so he can later describe it to his party members. Eventually, Lord Boomingham manages to win 30 gold from the guards before they give up. The chubby knight thanks the guards and walks away, leaving the guards throwing curses behind him. Lord Boomingham rejoins the rest of the party and tells them what he saw. If the party wants to go take a closer look at the marked crates, they will have to fight the guards. What will the party do now? Masked Builder Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 "I agree Rouge Gibbin," She wispers. "Let's move on to aisle 4."
CMP Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 "I agree Rouge Gibbin," She wispers. "I do not wear Rouge," mutters Atramor angrily. "And I don't know what wisps have to do with anything."
Zepher Posted August 31, 2011 Posted August 31, 2011 “Rats and bat and things like that, do nothing to make my body quake, men and boys with sword-like toys, don’t even make me shiver or shake!” sings Boomingham. "What good fellows. I have to admit, I'm interested in the crates, but they're not our bees wax. Perhaps on our way out I could talk to them some more and see if they've got anything else to tell me." He then whispers to Hybros. "I didn't even know I was that good at cards," he admits with a grin. "I surprise even myself!" (Loved your writing for me Sandy. )
