DrWeevil Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 (edited) The Emporium is down again to EUR 115 before VAT is removed (EUR 96 after VAT removed or AUS $125). Must...resist.... If you don't already have it you should most definitely buy that set. That's great value at that price. It is a fun build and awesome to display. Edit: on another note - interestingly (to me anyway :P), my MMV from AmAzon France and Imp Shuttle from Amazon Italy both scanned in at Dubai at the same time. Coincidences! dogfin Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Just received my Grand Emporium from Amazon.fr. Got it while it was still 110 euros and couldn't be happier The outside box was dented slightly but the Lego box itself is in perfect condition. This is my first purchase from Amazon.fr and first modular building purchase. I'll be looking at geting the Fire Brigade next. I can't believe how much cheaper things are compared to the Australian sellers. Shipping was less than 7 days, normal shipping too. Can't wait to build it!
homoludens Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I have also received my MMV and Grand Emporium from amazon.fr - it took a little longer than expected, but since I got them at 65 and 109 Euros respectively, I certainly won't complain. (On a side note: MMV is now sold out at amazon.fr, a sign that the set is retired now?) A few days ago, I also couldn't pass up the Millenium Falcon at under 100 Euros. It was scheduled to be shipped in January, but today I got a message saying "shipment December 10". Good service, but bad for my credit card Frank

Was it packed well and is the box still intact? Can you tell me where I can find the costs for international shipping within Europe?

That's what happened with mine.
Kryne Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Amazon.fr has some christmas offer going, just went to check on pricing for a order and it came up with a 75 euro discount on a 515 euro order. Cant seem to find any information on how much you need to spend or how long it lasts, but thats a nice discount so thought id let everyone know.
greenpaw Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 (edited) Details of the offer are here and it is only valid till December 9th, so not alot of time... Apparently (from what I could understand of the Google translation) if you order 50 EUR of certain Lego sets you get an additional 15 % off I was going to add a list of the Lego sets included in the deal but it looks like the vast majority are included. Time to increase my credit card limit... Edited December 8, 2011 by greenpaw

Splat Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 I just received my Amazon.it shipment via UPS - ordered late on Friday night, arrived on Thursday afternoon - Imperial Shuttle 10212, Motorised Excavator 8043, and 2 x Extreme Cruiser 8081. The outer box looked like it had something heavy placed on top of it, so two sides of the outer boxes were split open, and the corner of the Imperial Shuttle box was a little bit squashed, but not too bad (I plan to build the set, not keep in MISB). At least it wasn't pancaked or saturated at all.
Kryne Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Red train and Cargo train for $200 shipped thank you very much. :D Did they come up as 1-2 month shipping for you? i ordered 3 passenger trains and 2 cargo trains, and other bits and they come up as shipping in january

I kept it pretty small this time - 3 landspeeders and the creator lighthouse I have too much Lego incoming already but the landspeeders were just such a good price for those minifigures. Having said that, there are still a few hours in the sale left for me to change my mind (she says while flicking over to the Amazon.fr Star Wars Lego section). Edited December 8, 2011 by greenpaw

But that's fine - not fussed when I get them really. Edited December 8, 2011 by distortme
Kryne Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 I ordered 13 things, it was just all so cheap even before the 15% off
lorax Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 (edited) For some reason Amazon Fr is not giving me the VAT removed AUS price at checkout. (I have ordered from them a number of times, and it has never done this). Does anyone know how to change it back. I want to get my husband the 8043 while the 15% off is going. Edit: ignore that, when I removed an item with a delay it went back to normal. Edited December 8, 2011 by lorax
dogfin Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Interesting. Was it packed well and is the box still intact? Can you tell me where I can find the costs for international shipping within Europe? I thought it was pretty well packed, there seemed to be a generous amount of packing paper. The outer box was slightly dented but the Lego box itself is in pretty good condition. A corner is slightly squashed but it's really minor and you wouldn't really see it unless you looked very closely. The shipping was 9.45 euros for the Grand Emporium
Concept Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Ok so keep this on the down low, the family doesn't need to know (knudge knudge wink wink) I saw the emporium price and then just couldn't resist the additional discounts. Got 10211, 10216, 10199 and 7929 for a total combined price including shipping of 165.40 Euro. Thats hella cheap lol So remember this never happened ok :)
Kryne Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Was just having another look and they had the tower bridge was relisted as 1-2 month shipping and it worked out to about $170 aus and my finger slipped onto the buy button, hate when that happens

It makes ordering much easier.
greenpaw Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Great for army building. Ton of droids and Gungans are a bit of a rarity. I'm sure everyone is very interested in this but just for one brief moment yesterday the Red Technic Car was #1 on the bestseller list, then it went back to the Naboo set. I really need to get out more....
Hewman Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 For those like me that missed out on getting a Millennium Falcon at a great price on amazon.fr, it's now on amazon.it with a shipping date of December 15 and with their express shipping it worked out to less than $150, not as good as some of the deals others have got, but 40% off Aussie RRP was good enough for me, and I might even have it for Christmas.
Hewman Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 For those after a death star, you can get it from both amazon France and amazon Italy shipped to Australia (I assume other countries too) for less than 300 Euros. So so tempting, but I must save some money for life's essentials.
DrWeevil Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I picked up my Imperial Shuttle UCS from the PO today - shipped from Amazon.it. The set was received with one reasonably crushed corner and a hole was punched through the front of both the outer box and the set box around the size of two 50c pieces. Not worth complaining / sending back to them, but thought I'd let people know that sets can certainly be damaged even when sent via UPS with 'quick shipping'.
