TheDarkness Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Well I just placed an order for some sets for my son's birthday, so we will see how it goes. I paid for express shipping on my last order, and they split it into two shipments, one went via ups and the other via Brokers express supposedly. Naturally UPS had a tracking number and arrived here efficiently, whilst the Brokers one still is in transit. The funny thing was they could have fit them all in the one box. Now just to wait and see when my sets actually arrive, I have my doubts they are expressed thats for sure.
Darth Draks Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Mine was sent by Brokers too, there the pancake specialists
TheDarkness Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Mine was sent by Brokers too, there the pancake specialists Brokers Express, or Brokers 1 month service? Pancake specialists is entirely accurate, my boxes shipped via UPS were in pristine condition
TheDarkness Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 It will be interesting. Tomorrow will be the ninth day, which Amazon usually outstrip. If only their US site would ship here
greenpaw Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Thought this was relevant for those interested in overseas vs Aussie prices: http://www.boorowanewsonline.com.au/news/national/national/general/aussie-apple-boss-comes-out-of-the-shadows-to-confront-ripoff-claims/2264147.aspx?storypage=1 Hope B&N stay with their overseas shipping-I was getting used to those prices :0)
TheDarkness Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Either way, we get slugged a hell of a lot more than other countries for alot of items. And with people becoming more savvy with the internet they are finding cheaper ways to get what they want. The prices we pay for alot of things is inexcusable really
TheDarkness Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 Hmm, the three sets I ordered from BN have been delayed. I am assuming the worst, but we shall see
TheDarkness Posted August 20, 2011 Posted August 20, 2011 Well BN shipped my sets ordered 2 days ago, so I will keep ordering until it stops. That was with the new code too, on an account which I have already used a 30% discount twice previously
Legoman Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 It's great to finally have a muliti-national thread for this topic! (Cheers Seigfried ) I've placed 3 orders with B&N over the last week, and they're sure confusing as to how they go about posting over-seas. My First order had half of it cancelled due to no stock (Both The krusty crab and Kings castle - Now sold out), and the rest is apparently on it's way to me now. Annoying since I'd used the 30% off coupon on the castle, so I'm now paying full price for everything.. Oh well, I guess thats the way things go sometimes My secound order is half shipped, half 'delayed'. But since they still haven't cancelled the 'delayed' half of the order, I think it's still genuine. Just a matter of being a few days later. All good My third order is where I got confused. They just deleted the Order. Their Email said Dear ........,We have canceled your order 24653**** as noted below. If you received this email regarding your order for a Barnes & Noble NOOK Book or NOOK App, please be advised that these purchases are limited to those customers physically located in the United States and Canada. If you feel this has been done in error, please email us at.... or call... Please be assured that you have not been charged for this order. Sincerely, Sales Audit Department The thing is, They don't actually give a reason. I haven't received this e-mail about a NOOK Book or NOOK App, so I don't quite see how that's relevant.. Intresting. Oh well, I won't give up. I'll see how I go with the other orders first Is anyone else getting much luck with B&N?
Clone-Trooper Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 The thing is, They don't actually give a reason. I'll see how I go with the other orders first Is anyone else getting much luck with B&N? Rest assured your order is cancelled, it's just a general E-Mail they're sending to everyone outside of the USA, because it appears they've stopped shipping most sets overseas and are just selling/shipping those sets with in USA and Canada. They don't give a reason because really they haven't got one, otherwise they're dodging the real reason and not wanting to upset buyers so they 'come back'. This could simply be a way of cancelling the 30% off coupon code which has flooded every Lego forum and coupon saver sales site in America and overseas...... pretty much everyone knows about it now. I don't agree with it and think it's crap but it's happened to me on x3 orders now with different sets, it appears that B&N is either cracking down on the 30% coupon being used or just doesn't want to absorb the shipping costs by sending big sets to other countries like Australia.
streifen Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 and put the 2 new ones aside to go under the K-Mart Wishing Tree at Christmas time. Amazon were all class, so definitely cannot complain! That was BIG (in heart, mind & thought) of you!
bensl Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 pretty keen to get the star wars shuttle 10212. any cheap prices overseas?? i refuse to pay the $450 retail here. cheers
u98925 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Is this normal coming from Amazon.fr as it is now the evening of the 22nd? (note: i selected the cheaper/slower shipping option) ...or will it be on the door step at 9am tomorrow?
ang911 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Gosh I hope not...I have something coming with the economy shipping soon. What was the original estimated delivery date? That seems like an awful long wait!
TheDarkness Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Í think it says 15-21 days for slow shipping usually doesn't it? The sets are cheap enough, so I always go for the express shipping
bensl Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 just been looking on amazon.fr and amazon.de. is there a way to translate to english (other than google translate)? also on both sites the set i added to my cart could not be sent to my address (i think that is what the page said). am i doing something wrong?
u98925 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 (edited) The original ship date when I placed the order was the 23rd and that hasn't changed, just like the items status nothings changed since the 11th August :-| Would of thought that there may have been an update when it landed in Australia? just been looking on amazon.fr and amazon.de. is there a way to translate to english (other than google translate)? also on both sites the set i added to my cart could not be sent to my address (i think that is what the page said). am i doing something wrong? Try Google Chrome (the web browser)....you can set it to automatically perform the translation on the fly. Edited August 22, 2011 by u98925
TheDarkness Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 It should update once it hits customs. However, once it leaves you usually don't get any updates until it rocks up on your doorstep!
distortme Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Anyone have a URL for tracking packages from B&N? I believe it's Brokers...
bensl Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 (edited) Try Google Chrome (the web browser)....you can set it to automatically perform the translation on the fly. cheers. handy tip. still says the item cannot be sent to my address. im not sure how u guys are getting it to work? legocanuck Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 I hate how sets are so much cheaper in the States than in Canada on the Lego website. The Medieval Market Village (10193) sells for 99 USD and 134 CDN!! I understand if the prices are from before with really old exchange rates, but they should be updated. Very frustrating, especially considering the site shows you the $99 price, then when you go to order it says 134... I almost bought it! :(
