Legoman Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 A question about Amazon.fr DHL shipments: My tracking has been screwy since placing my order, stating it had been received and signed for a week before I'd even ordered it, and the details haven't changed since. I'm just wondering if anybody else has experienced this also? If others have and have received their parcels in good time I won't bother emailing customer service. Cheers Yeah, I'noticed that with my orders too. Seems pritty messed up, But as long as there still getting here. I just decided not to look at their 'tracking', and wait until they arrive
Splat Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 (edited) If you are thinking about buying from amazon.fr, you best hurry. . Amazon.fr was pricematching an online French competitor whose promo ends today, the 31st. Once the promo ends, Amazon.fr will have no longer need to pricematch, and you know what happens next. Well it looks like you were right! The price of the Death Star has increased back up to EUR 399,99 (from EUR 339,99), and the Medieval Market Village has increased back up to EUR 76,42 (from EUR 63,90). I'm glad I ordered when I did Some of the other Lego sets don't look like they have increased though, but I wasn't really watching them that closely, so I could be wrong... There are still some good deals to be had at Amazon.fr (especially compared to the Australian RRP). PS. My Amazon.fr order was shipped in two separate boxes, via UPS, and the tracking is working fine. The boxes are currently in Dubai. Edited November 1, 2011 by Splat

Ah, yes, you could be right about the MMV price. My bad. Anyway, still some good deals to be had on the Amazon.fr website.
DrWeevil Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Yeah, I'noticed that with my orders too. Seems pritty messed up, But as long as there still getting here. I just decided not to look at their 'tracking', and wait until they arrive Cool thanks, I won't worry then. My UPS orders have always tracked accurately (as is my current UPS shipment), this was the first I'd had sent with DHL so wasn't sure. I haven't had a Botany delay on a package yet, mine seem to get laid up at my local PO, whose mail contractor appears to view delivering the mail 5 days a week as too onerous a task! Not that it usually matters too much as I'm never able to pick them up during the week anyway thanks to that interference called work
Hewman Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I have about 20 sets at anyone stage sitting in my basket at amazon.fr and I looked this morning to see that about 12 of those had gone up (average about 15%). I think the MMV did go up, but it's still at a good price. I just have to decide if I want a second one.
leng jai Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Self control fail once again. Grand Emporium for $157AUD was just too good. Should look good next to the Fire Brigade In the last two months I've bought: 8097 Slave I 10193 Medieval Market Village 10210 Imperial Flagship 6212 X-Wing Fighter Gah
Concept Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 So the first London Bridge arrived today from Amazon Fr. It took 6 days to arrive after placing the order. The shipping was the cheapest option and cost 9 Euro. The condition of the package was good. There was a slight dent in the box but nothing to be worried about. All in all with the fast shipping and great price I am very happy :)

distortme Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 How you did that? As a see amazon.fr don't send toys to australia. How? Guys, one from New Zealand, another from Austria. How you do this? Heh. Read the last few pages. Amazon FR is shipping worldwide. I also but the bullet and have a Duplo farm and Droid Fighter on the way. Shipped 8 hours after order.
Splat Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 How you did that? As a see amazon.fr don't send toys to australia. How? Guys, one from New Zealand, another from Austria. How you do this? Okay, here's the situation: Amazon.fr does ship to Australia, as does Amazon.co.uk, but... they won't ship everything. When ordering on the Amazon sites, there are items that are sold by Amazon themselves, and then there are items sold by other 3rd party shops that happen to list their items on the Amazon sites. I'm not sure if this is 100% true, but I have found that if the item is being sold by Amazon (not a 3rd party shop), then you have a better chance of it being able to be shipped to Australia. On the left had side of the Amazon page, after you have done a search (eg. 'lego technic'), you can select the brand as 'Lego', and then the seller as 'Amazon', and you might have better luck. See screenshot here. The only way to be 100% sure is to add items to your cart, go to the checkout, enter your shipping address, and at that point Amazon will warn you if the items can be shipped to that address or not (this is before the payment screen). I've also heard reports that they may not ship to Australian PO Box addresses, so use your home or work address instead. Some of the 3rd party stores will also ship to Australia, but usually at a much higher cost, and without the express shipping option. I'm not sure what this situation is for NZ, but I assume it is similar. Hopefully the next time someone asks this same question I can just point them back to this post.
Concept Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 @ rm8, what Spalt said lol, I was going to respond went to make a coffe got distracted etc etc and then he posted. I was after a few different sets but as discussed only some were available. I was unable to get the Imperial Shuttle or the Star Wars advent calender for example.

C/O PO BOX THey have delivered a few like that so it can work. I wasn't 100% sure about this when I wrote it as don't have a PO Box myself, but this is good to know. My latest shipment from Amazon.fr just arrived It came in two separate boxes, but both were delivered at the same time: Ordered @6pm on the 30th of October, arrived @4pm on the 3rd of November via UPS, less than 4 days later (express shipping option). As you can see in the pics above, the outer boxes hardly had a scratch on them, which meant that the inner Lego boxes are as good as they were when Amazon.fr put them in. There is one slight scratch across the front of the Death Star box, but I suppose this would be considered normal shelf wear. Most likely it was like that when Amazon packed it, and not UPS's fault, and it's not a big deal to me. Definitely a LOT better than some others have received from other overseas suppliers (link). I can't really fault either Amazon.fr or UPS in this case. But now I have the same dilemma as last time, how do I get these boxes from work to home on public transport Edited February 15, 2016 by Splat

I'm always tempted to get my orders sent to work because I can't stand waiting for Saturdays to get to the PO, but am paranoid they'll go walkabout down in the mailroom. Can't you drive in to work one day? If not, good luck! ;)
eliminator Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Any Canadians out there order from the amazon.fr site? I'm looking at the Cargo Train since it's a good price, but I'm curious as to what kind of customs/duties that I will be charged.
TheDarkness Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Ok my Emporiums and Unimogs arrived, so I decide to spend more money on Technic and Trains. Its scary that my focus is mainly on Star Wars yet I have bought hardly any of it lately. They had series 6 and 7 of thge minifigs on there but they disappeared, did anyone order them? I prefer to order a box than buy individual packets, its far cheaper for aussies anyway!
Hewman Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I ordered a winter bakery set with standard shipping that arrived this morning. Delivery time was reasonable but box (lego box) was pretty bashed. I'd definitely recommend the express option if you like boxes in reasonable condition.

Delivery time was reasonable but box (lego box) was pretty bashed. I'd definitely recommend the express option if you like boxes in reasonable condition. It is my preference that's for sure. Sometimes I use them as presents, or re-sell later on if I decide I don't need the set (or get the modulars for later), so I like the boxes to be in good condition. It takes longer to get here in the middle of Australia though once it hits customs, than it does to get to customs internationally. I picked up the bakery last week, am going to have a Christmas display. I should have included the toy shop in my last order, but I am sure I will order something else in the next week or so. Can't seem to help myself. I'm reorganising my cupboards today, got to find space for it all now.

I prefer to order a box than buy individual packets, its far cheaper for aussies anyway! I preordered both Series 6 and 7 while they were on there and added some other sets they had in stock, selected 2-4 day shipping. The sets they had instock have already arrived in great condition in 4 days and the mimifigs will come 2-4 day post once they are released. I will only be charged when they are sent, and with the split shipping they do it worked out great, I know sometime they will send those minifigs out and hopefully there will be a few months between them to make paying easier.

Kryne Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Does Amazon.fr sell the minifigs by the box? or is this from resellers?
