Posted August 21, 201113 yr I think videos like this just show how amazing Lego is, and what a powerful tool it can be and the talent of the programmer Lego Milling Machine
August 21, 201113 yr This is a nice find! arthursacek wrote, "This model was developed by Arthur Sacek for ZOOM Education for Life." Edited August 21, 201113 yr by DLuders
August 21, 201113 yr Author I think it's up there with the mindstorms pinball machine I saw a few years ago, there are only a few Technic / mindstorms creations which seriously wow me and this is one of them... Thanks for deep linking the u tube video, could not work that one out.
August 21, 201113 yr Amazing! That's the kind of stuff I wanna see done with NXT. I would really want to take a closer look at the program he is running...
August 23, 201113 yr That is just fantastic! Only made with Lego, I am deeply impressed! Regards, Gerhard
August 23, 201113 yr ... there are only a few Technic / mindstorms creations which seriously wow me and this is one of them... That's the kind of stuff I wanna see done with NXT. Absolutely seconded! I had a look at the video. First I thought I knew what the machine would do, but at the end I was a bit disappointed... Until the vacuum cleaner went to work... This was even better than what I expected. Very, very clever! Think of all the things you could do with that machine. You'd never have to buy birthday presents again. I would really want to take a closer look at the program he is running... Yep. And it's definitely not the original Lego program!
August 23, 201113 yr I recently found this machine on a Dutch blog. It's truly amazing. The only thing non-Lego is the drill. What I also like about the machine, is that it's looks great. Some of the NXT creations are amazing in functionality, but lack in design/looks. The Building Instructions are probably the least interesting. The software to control the machine is where the magic happens. Very nice!
August 25, 201113 yr That is too cool. I had no idea that NXT was that versatile and advanced. That was a great find 'p_d'
August 25, 201113 yr I think this kind of complexicity cannot be achieved by the factory default way for programming, I guess they are used some special programming language. The NXT block can be used for a lot of advanced task, some of them (these are old videos, you probably already seen them):
August 25, 201113 yr Most of the time another programming language and/or development environment is used. Depending on the language you can use the default firmware or update the NXT with another firmware. Here's an example overview: http://www.teamhassenplug.org/NXT/NXTSoftware.html
August 27, 201113 yr yep I use leJOS NXJ so I can write my programs in Java, but there are also firmwares that allow you to write in C if you prefer it
