David Thomsen Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Also wander if the next building will be a corner building like CC or GE? At this stage it is pretty much an established pattern. I think in six more years we will actually have a complete city block. Well... four years, if you don't mind your city block being a rectangle. Still can't figure out what the kid is reaching for in that picture. Some kind of weird tiny glass vase with a yellow flower in it? Quote
AllanSmith Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 It's gone from the Russian shop web page Quote
iElkie Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I'm in love with this new modular... and so happy that my modulars are displayed on a low cabinet. With the VIP only Mini Modulars in mind, here's an idea for the next VIP only set: a town square that you can place in front of this Town Hall. Then you could create something like this. I'd buy that in a heartbeat! Quote
JopieK Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Really nice! Nice find too. Becomes an expensive year again :) Quote
GRogall Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 It's gone from the Russian shop web page Thats just Lego trying to shoot the horse after it has bolted out of the gate! Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Oooooh! Ok, first impression: Wow, this is beautiful. And there's something about it that seems to make it so essential, somehow. I don't know if this will make sense, but I was feeling despair over the entire modular buildings line ever since missing out on Green Grocer - I wasn't happy about missing the two before it, but as long as there was a chance I could get Green Grocer, it seemed Ok. Then I missed that one as well, and ever since then I've wanted the ones after it, but thought I couldn't enjoy them fully having missed out on GG - as though if I were to get any of the others, there'd still be a significant feeling of incompleteness that would overshadow any enjoyment I got from Fire Brigade, Grand Emporium or Pet Shop - until now. At the moment, I feel like I could get just the ones currently available and still be pretty happy. Holly Frack! speechless!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Indeed, if you were caught unawares by new set pics, that's pretty remarkable all by itself. Quote
Younge Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 2012 is going to be expensive!!! And I thought I hadn't seen anything from the "leaks" so far that tickled my fancy!!! A funny thing I have noticed for myself with the modulars is that I built my own modular fire station a few years back - then Lego released the Fire Brigade. I then I had to convert my fire station into an apartment building. And for a while now I have been working on an art deco modular cinema. Now, although the Town Hall isn't a cinema, my MOC has been built with dark orange, so I will probably have to do some re-designing!!! Brickvention is coming up in about a week's time here in Australia, and I am wondering if we get any more details about this set during the event? I can't wait until March!!!! Quote
The Dutch Guy Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Wow, I am very pleased with the result. It overschadows my wildest expectations. Very well done Lego Group. Now i'm a bigger fan of the modulars. It's going to be an expecive year for me, because i still have to buy te Pet Shop and complete my own MOC modulars. Looks like i need a second job afterall. MadManMingo Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 WHO IS THIS MYSTERIOUS MICKEY26 ???? He pop's out of nowhere and make the day for hundreds of AFOL, and then strangely disapear again without a comment Hmmmmmm....... Quote

I only have the 3 that are currently available and while I'd love the original 3 as well, I'm pretty content with what I have. I cant wait to add this to my town. That said, does anyone else think PS looks totally out of place between TH and GE? I currently have my PS on the other side of GE and then FB where PS is in that picture. The way I have it is the PS block will be residential and the FB block will be businesses and government buildings. Quote
Larrynautik Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 This set is a monumental success in design, playability, interiors and price. I just wait for the interior details and the reviews now ! Excellent work here Lego Quote
clcwong Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Quite similar to what I have thought of, but simply I don't like the height of the building. What I think is that originally a town hall would be a seperate stuff, but not a modular thing. But maybe.......we get a crowded Earth, so we get a crowded Lego city lol? Anyway, time to get a fire brigade before it disappear =] Quote
GRogall Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Just got info on the release date but still no price! February 1st! So start saving them pennies you will need lots of them! Quote

scottwb2010 Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 The Fire Brigade will be discontinued soon, but LEGO are receiving a new inventory of Fire Brigades; so there's a few months left for the Fire Brigade. Also, there have never been any more than 3 modular buildings together in the group picture. HighFlyer, What do you mean by recieving a new inventory of Fire Brigades? Quote
Aanchir Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Although this is much taller than most of the modular buildings, I wonder how it would look next to the Green Grocer... after all, that set also tended to tower above its neighbors. Quote
Orange Leader Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Getting this or Diagon Alley... Hmm... Quote
MadManMingo Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 February 1 Then there must be some high def. pics roaming around somewhere????? Quote

For what I think is that..town hall could be in the middle to make it outstanding, and more focus =] especially with a higher top, if you put it else where, it just seems a bit....... so I think I will keep it in the middle. (if only with one box) But if I get a few of this town hall, I think I will just build a block for the town hall making it standalone. What do others think? HighFlyer, What do you mean by recieving a new inventory of Fire Brigades? Yup, I guess the last lot will be coming in Feb, so pbb after this lot, the FB will be discontinued. But I think I will only get one of this... Quote
GRogall Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 February 1 Then there must be some high def. pics roaming around somewhere????? Well if we go back to the Pet Shop the official release info was May 6th 2011 with a release on the 10th. So if there are any official Lego show this month it will be introduced then or a couple of days before the release! Quote

(if only with one box) But if I get a few of this town hall, I think I will just build a block for the town hall making it standalone. What do others think? I think you have too much spare change! I'm very envious of anyone who can afford more than one of each modular. I'm even more envious of anyone who can afford the prices people are charging for GG, CC, and MS. But anyway, to your question, I think perhaps combining two THs would be enough. A whole block of them might look silly, but one Town Hall even bigger than the official one would look good IMO. But the size of that might not work unless you had plenty of other modular buildings, official or not. Or did you mean you want to have a block featuring just the TH? I'm a bit confused. Personally, I want a second FB. I have too many fire vehicles and only one bay to park in. I'd also love to add some floors to my GE. But what I'd really love to do is make my car dealership 48x32 or make a second dealership of that size and model it on the dealership I work at. Quote
Nebi Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Does anyone agree with me that the set probably won't have an elevator? I'm just reminded of how a lot of people thought the GE would have a working escalator, and now they see signs that could possibly indicate an elevator when they more likely indicate a stairwell. For one thing, how is the cleaner getting out of that trap door on the roof - is he standing on top of the elevator? Could be a possibility. Or maybe the elevator doesn't have a ceiling (or a trap door in the ceiling), what would afford more playabiliy. It's just Lego, it doesn't have to be full realistic. Quote
robynndarcy Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Oh My God! I just bricked in my pants a little. This is beautiful. Can't wait to get my hands on one. Quote
merman Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I wonder if we get an official press release soon. My experience is there is always littlw time between a press release and the product release. March? Also this is the first modular with a different box orientation. The box is turned 90 degrees. Quote
