nfl_solo Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 (edited) Well if we go back to the Pet Shop the official release info was May 6th 2011 with a release on the 10th. So if there are any official Lego show this month it will be introduced then or a couple of days before the release! It is possible it will be unveiled at Brickfair this weekend. GRogall Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 It is possible it will be unveiled at Brickfair this weekend. Yep! that could be it. so tomorrow or saturday for the official press kit! Quote
_JDB Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I personally don't own any modular buildings yet. I was thinking about getting the Pet Shop, but after seeing this, Town Hall it is! Now I just need to save up some money... Quote
eliminator Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 hmm, I really like it. Although, I suppose there will be many who dislike the fact that it might not match up well with some of the other modulars sizes and it may be over $150USD. Oddly enough, it kinda reminds me of the old town hall in the town I grew up in. Quote
HighFlyer Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 HighFlyer, What do you mean by recieving a new inventory of Fire Brigades? By a new inventory I mean a new shipment of Fire Brigade sets that shall be arriving from the factory, ready for dispatching. Quote
clcwong Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I think you have too much spare change! I'm very envious of anyone who can afford more than one of each modular. I'm even more envious of anyone who can afford the prices people are charging for GG, CC, and MS. But anyway, to your question, I think perhaps combining two THs would be enough. A whole block of them might look silly, but one Town Hall even bigger than the official one would look good IMO. But the size of that might not work unless you had plenty of other modular buildings, official or not. Or did you mean you want to have a block featuring just the TH? I'm a bit confused. Personally, I want a second FB. I have too many fire vehicles and only one bay to park in. I'd also love to add some floors to my GE. But what I'd really love to do is make my car dealership 48x32 or make a second dealership of that size and model it on the dealership I work at. LOL.... I was just too into Lego in these few months. Just started modular buildings last week actually. Bought one new Green Grocer from 2nd hand market yesterday =] Plan to buy more than 1 GE...but no space to put them out actually. (I saw a photo with 6 GE of them building a block) so...just came up with the idea of usinga few town hall...maybe 2 town hall to build a block will be the right size! Now in plan will be getting 1 PS 1 GE and 1 FB.....FB first =] maybe a few more GE or 1 more PS and mod it to different colour. Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I was REALLY impressed with the design, and the use of new pieces with the figures... I have yet to go modular, but this one has me sorely tempted... Quote
Follows Closely Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Does anyone agree with me that the set probably won't have an elevator? I'm just reminded of how a lot of people thought the GE would have a working escalator, and now they see signs that could possibly indicate an elevator when they more likely indicate a stairwell. For one thing, how is the cleaner getting out of that trap door on the roof - is he standing on top of the elevator? Man, we need hi-res images fast so we can talk about what the set actually does have, rather than what we think it might have... Also, does that red-headed girl with the magnifying glass remind anyone else of Nancy Drew? It has one Quote
GRogall Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Oh; and I heard somewhere that this set has an elevator! Does anyone agree with me that the set probably won't have an elevator? clcwong Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Just found some history, maybe the Town Hall come from these....? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swindon_Town_Hall http://www.burton-on-trent.org.uk/category/surviving/townhall Quote
snefroe Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 it's a nice model, but i've seen better. Quote

Jasper Joppe Geers Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Maybe not generally Grogall, I think Jamie would have had something particular in mind as an example. Quote
Follows Closely Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Maybe not generally Grogall, I think Jamie would have had something particular in mind as an example. Has the year 1891 been addressed? Quote
clcwong Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Eh? don't understand your post, there are thousand of Town Halls almost every town has one! just google and then hit images they all look very much alike!? yea...maybe... just but with 1891...seems not much... Or maybe Lego just gave them random years? Quote
GRogall Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 (edited) 1891 The year Ole Kirk Christiansen is Born! and 1932 from Fire Brigade is the year Lego was founded! Edited January 12, 2012 by grogall Quote
SeanM Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 it's a nice model, but i've seen better. I agree. I like it but it seems very simple. Maybe that's why they dropped the age rating from 16+ to 14+ ? Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Maybe that's why they dropped the age rating from 16+ to 14+ ? Many Lego sets have had a age drop, now days Lego start sets containing minifigs from age 4 now. Plus on the design of the town hall, it might another fusion of two worlds.....American and European. VBBN Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Looks alright, but I'm not a fan of the colors, And I must say it's somewhat boring, I really would like to see it have been done as a corner building albeit we just got one Quote
LegoBrickSteve Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 1891 The year Ole Kirk Christiansen is Born! and 1932 from Fire Brigade is the year Lego was founded! Ole Kirk was the man! Quote
Jason Cicchini Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I would hope that the suggestion of the absence of a corner building means a really awesome one will be next in the line. I'm somewhat satisfied with how this finally turned out, after being really excited for it. Until I see interior shots, I might just invest the money I'd spend on this and pick up a Fire Brigade before it disappears forever. Quote
brickbuilder711 Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I'm completely impressed with this new set. The color choice of dark orange -- I'm not a really big fan of it, but it will make a great parts pack. Unfortunately, my wallet will have to lighten up for it. The joy of this hobby. Quote

Eeh, what do you mean?We got Café Corner & the Grand Emporium - both corner buildings! I think it looks great! Quote
Rick Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Eeh, what do you mean? I think VBBN doesn't mean just one (1) corner building so far, but that we recently ('just') got a corner building (the Grand Emporium). Quote
Andy D Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 I just thought I was going to spend less this year, yeah , right! If TLG keeps is up, I'll be spending more this year than last year. The Town Hall looks great and I will add it to my modular collection. The only decision is 1 or 2? (one to build, one for the wonderful new colors an parts) Andy D Quote
