Oh, wouldn't it be AWESOME if all three town plan buildings were redesigned into modulars eh ?

I was wondering how they would do a modular gas station, but then I had the idea that they could have a one story corner building on a 32x48 plate and have a convenience store, gas pumps and car wash. I think it would be a cool way for them to add variety to the line, in both style and price (it could sell for $75-100).

Town Hall... Sounds like it'd be a great modular, and even better if it was a smaller set. Under $100 would make my day!

Kingdoms Joust could be fantastic too... Hmmmmmmmmmmm, wonder what the scale on that would be.

That Dutch website has pulled all those pages to do with this and the other 1022- sets.....what's going on ?

Seems like Lego is tightening up their leakage policy even more than last year as even information like numbers and names on upcoming sets seems to be sensitive now.

Apparently 10223 Kingdom's Joust is to be similar to MMV. I was thinking if the Town Hall would have an triangular roof (which would give the building the look of a house that we could draw when we were 3 years old), or following in the same style as the previous modulars, with a more "square" design...

It seems Lego requested the information be removed, that's interesting.. this seems even more probable now, I'm already getting excited, despite owning only one modular at the moment.. may be getting the GE this weekend though!!

When I browsed those webpages yesterday, I was thinking just that: I wonder how long it takes before somebody at TLG sees this. And the fact that it's being removed so quickly does make it more likely that the list is actually correct.

Perhaps this town hall is going to be a modular redesign of the town hall in this.......

I certainly hope it isn't! I adore the dark green building in 10184, but I definitely think that something completely new would be much more exciting than a redesign...

Well, I guess the fact that Lego asked for it to be removed makes it official. I love how that works.

I've always wanted my own copy of Jamie's Town Hall modular he made a few years back, so I'm hoping it'll be like that. Even a larger version of the Town Plan one would be great.

I think it's more likely though that it'll be a new design entirely. I wonder what it'll look like! :classic:

I hope it's true - Jamie Berard already did a Town Hall for a temporary exhibit back before the Fire Brigade came out, so maybe he just hasn't been able to let it die. :classic:

noticed instructions for this Town Hall on a certain Auction site. Thought I had seen it recently!

I'll be amazed if they don't include pillars made from this piece:

Actually when I first saw this piece I thought it would be perfect for a modular Town Hall. Lo and behold, the next modular is a Town Hall...

One thing we can say for sure is that it'll be a side building rather than a corner building.

This is getting me so excited. I think i might cry. :cry_happy:

I know the feeling, I only own two modulars (finally got a GE on a trip to Westfield today, interesting to note that they didn't have an Fire Brigades on display, it seems the end is nigh for that set) and can't wait to get the Pet Shop and many more, especially if it's a town hall. :sweet:

Anyone else find that the leak of the rumored Town Hall is extremely early? If i remember correctly, the rumored pet shop was kept under wraps for a good while longer, same for last years and this years exclusive Star Wars sets. It almost seems funny that Lego sent out a nearly complete list of 10000 series sets over year away from their actual release, when they have been so good about keeping these a secret. These sets are the ones least necessary for retailers to know anyways, as they are generally low volume sets, and when I've seen leaks from supplier catalogs these often don't seem to be included. Could it be these rumors are simply controlled slips where they are planting false rumors to keep people on their toes, it's not like companies haven't done so before. People from Lego read these boards and I'm sure they are painfully aware that requests to pull down set information is seen to be a confirmation of a rumor's validity, so by "confirming" this list posted by one Dutch website they have basically given us a diversion that they can use to give us shockingly great reveals next year, starting in a few months with the present the January 2012 exclusive.

If the new modular actually is a Town Hall, I'd love it, it will be a great addition to my growing modular street, and if it closely resembles the one previously done Jamie Berard then even better. I wonder if they are going to make a big deal about this being the 5th year anniversary of the line, with special bricks, or a bigger building? They kind of did for the 10 years of Star Wars, and other than Star Wars UCS sets this is the most successful exclusive line, so I wouldn't be too surprised if they tried to celebrate it in some way.

I see your point, and agree that it is early. And if the rumours had just surfaced on a forum, from "serious sources", I'd think it was a bit fishy. Now that the list stems from this shop I don't, as they've been correct before. And another thing is that there were rumors of a couple of these sets even before the list was out.

So I think it's genuine. But I could still be wrong, and you be right :)

I'd love to see instructions on the windows and columns. I know Jamie explains the column technique on the LEGO website, anyone have any details on the windows? I've seen the Brickshelf photos and I kind of get it but not completely. Ah I found the instructions for $9.99 on eBay. Does anyone know if that is actually Jamie himself selling those or someone else?

Do you have a link to those instructions? Really interested in checking them out. :)

I don't expect this Town Hall set to be a modular. Or at least, I would hope it's not one because the scale would be completely off. It doesn't make sense for a city hall to be the same size as the everyday shops and homes of the other modular structures. I would instead expect the building to be a standalone building of the same size as a modular but intended to be more appropriately scaled against the Town Plan buildings.

If I'm not wrong the Jamie Berard's Town Hall is on a 48x48 baseplate, so a little big respect the other modular structures.

I think we can't expect a huge Town Hall from Lego, they have to considerate the price, otherwise it could not enter in the modular building category.

Well, I could imagine a 1/3 higher price for a "special" modular, i.e. 200€ instead of 150€ (for this one only, the following going back to the usual price and size), which should allow a 48-wide building with the typical depth of about 16 studs and a height similar to the FB or GE with a small tower/bell/clock/whatever higher up. This wouldn't be really huge, but still noticeably larger than the normal houses – and large enough for the price.

On the other hand, if it's smaller, I guess quite a lot of us will consider buying two anyway. :classic:

I don't think this will be a problem. In Europe, there are a lot of little towns with old town halls dating from the middle ages that are not much larger than an average town house. Many of them are not used anymore as such, but they're still known as the town hall. Maybe it's different in the United States.

In the U.S. (in the area I live anyway, keep in mind several individual states are larger than many European countries) the local town hall (or city hall) is often a much larger building than the houses and shops nearby. It often includes the Mayor's office, the city or township council (basically a small congress or parliament of a dozen people or so responsible for local laws and ordinances), all of the council persons' offices, the local courthouse, the judges' offices, and sometimes the local police department and sheriff's office too. (Sometimes the local courthouse building is the town hall building.) That prototype town hall being larger than a normal modular looks like it could work for a U.S. town hall quite well to me. I actually think a town hall would work better as a larger stand alone building but that would be easy to MOD from a modular.

I would feel that it would just be a 32x32 baseplate design, three floors or less depend how big the public meeting hall is ?

A police station, I would consider a more future set than fusing it into a town hall.

Just my opinion.

I think this is a great point. Another thing to think about is that town halls are very rarely (never in my own experience, but I know better than to say "never" on the Internet) built as part of a row of joined buildings. Every town hall I've ever seen had a border separating it from the buildings next door. For every modular they've produced so far, it made sense for the structure to be a modular. Town Hall doesn't fit in that scheme.

I'm not saying they wouldn't do it, but it wouldn't really fit in my opinion.
