Pally Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Hi guys, Anyone knows more about it? Sound like the new market place (sort of) What do you think? Cheers, Pally Bonaparte: Removed setnames/numbers on direct request of LEGO. Quote
Edmond Dantes Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 There have been a few rumors, but nothing confirmed. Quote
blueandwhite Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Interesting. Seeing an set number gives a lot more weight to this rumor. The fact that this has a 10000 set number is also exciting as it suggests a set targeted at an older fan base. Could this be a genuine follow up to the MMV? Hopefully we'll see pics in the near future. Quote

lightningtiger Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 The question is how big is this set going to be, is it going to have a heap of minifig's....will it have an armourer making suits of armour ? I for one can not wait until next year, but I guess it will be a few weeks before images rock up. Brick On ! Quote
Donut Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 (edited) Sounds very promising and with the quality of the sets that we've seen thus far, I am sure TLC won't disappoint. I am hoping it would be something like this: Edited August 25, 2011 by Donut Quote

Brickdoctor Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 A joust? That could work as a successor to the MMV. It's a recognizable peacetime medieval basis for a set. I'm excited to see if this is true. Quote
Gabe Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Oh wow, this is very exciting news! Bring on the pics i say! Quote
SilvaShado Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 I was hoping for some more medieval life sets and this works. I still wanted something non-violent like a manor or a farm or other shops besides a blacksmith, but jousting is good. I hope it's a good sized set, but not too large. If they do a large arena setting, I can imagine it would get quite expensive. But it'd be cool to see risers, venders, maybe a special seating booths for the nobles. Lots of armor would be cool and I hope they do squires for the knights. If they make it as historically accurate as the MMV then we'll be in good shape here. But if it's for a younger age range, it'll probably be minimal. Quote
WhiteFang Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Sounds very promising indeed. Like a dream coming true! Quote

Kingdoms sets aren't store-exclusive, so likely (and hopefully) the number indicates an exclusive, either a very big System set or a D2C set. Quote
andhe Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 I heard about this yesterday but didn't realise the set number indicated it would anything bigger than the fantasy era joust set we've had before (basically 2 mounted knights and a barrier). If I was excited then (at the prospect of being able to pick up a couple of knights without buying the 2 dragon prison escape/rescue sets) then the idea of a MMV style jousting scene sounds A-MAZ-ING. Looking forward to seeing what they come up with. Do we reckon it will be Lions vs Dragons? or something a bit more generic (seeing as the two factions don't really seem to get on, let alone have time for a friendly jousting tournament...). Quote
David Thomsen Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Do we reckon it will be Lions vs Dragons? or something a bit more generic (seeing as the two factions don't really seem to get on, let alone have time for a friendly jousting tournament...). I'm hoping it's generic... I don't collect Kingdoms sets, but I'm enough of a castle fan to collect any D2C castle sets. The castle eras change every three years or so, and if every D2C set is specific to those eras, then a collection of D2C castle sets over time is going to end up with a lot of random factions. Quote
Khorne Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 This is interesting . The fact that the number seems to suggest a D2C set makes me very curious. Hopefully they'll include some nicely-made tribunes and stuff like that . Do we reckon it will be Lions vs Dragons? or something a bit more generic (seeing as the two factions don't really seem to get on, let alone have time for a friendly jousting tournament...). Unless new factions are going to be released next year, I strongly believe it will be a Dragons vs. Lions joust. MMV was also a D2C set and the soldiers they used there were just generic Crown soldiers as well. Quote
Rumble Strike Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 After seeing the jousting at Warwick Castle, I'd be all over a Lions vs Dragons jousting set. More lovely printed horses! Quote

MMV was also a D2C set and the soldiers they used there were just generic Crown soldiers as well. My thoughts exactly. It has Kingdoms in the name so I think it will be a reflection of the Kingdoms theme. So unless new factions come out next year and this set is going to mirror that, I expect it'll be Lion Knights versus Dragon Knights. Unless all four factions are included, which would be more historically accurate as tournaments would draw knights from many factions to compete for prizes and honor. It'd be really cool if this is the case because it'd be great to have multiple factions in one set. Quote

Jousting tourneys aren't always friendly. If I remember correctly, the MMV came with a couple of crownies, which were the Castle sets at the time of MMVs release, so this next set should and very well could be the current Kingdoms knights facing off. Pally Posted August 26, 2011 Author Posted August 26, 2011 Hi guys, Anyone knows more about it? Sound like the new market place (sort of) What do you think? Cheers, Pally Bonaparte: Removed setnames/numbers on direct request of LEGO. Seeing the edit to my first post it's a sort of confirmation ; Hope that it's a big set with a joust, tents and/or some houses. This is going on my list for sure. Quote
The Blue Brick Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Yes, I could totally add a jousting set to my collection. I loved the medieval market village. I hope it's better than that. Quote
Piranha Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 this sounds like it is going to be good and the removing of the set name and number is pretty much direct confirmation from TLG that it is going to be a set. I hope it has over a thousand parts, well done Joust area with seating for the peasants and quite a few civilian included, maybe even some tents? Can't wait to see pics. Quote
dgherko Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 I would like to see four or five knights, some squires, fans, royal host of the tourney. A royal viewing stand, some tents, lots of weapons, jester, musicians, trophies ( gold silver and bronze from the collectable minifigs) And would it not be wonderful for Lego to sneek in some of their really older minifigs. I think they are releasing a classic woodsman and knight for a toys r us promotion (Bricktober) Lego please give us a classic black knight from Black Monarch's Ghost 6034 or Black Knight 6009. New Dragon Knight & squire New Lion Knight & squire Crownie and squire Black Knight and squire as long as we are wishing a bit Quote
TeufelHund Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 This set would be a good opportunity to introduce some knights from different factions other than the Lion/Dragon ones (given that knights came from all around to partcipate in these events), although likely we'll just get one of each with maybe a squire or two. A royal pavilion is a must, as are some tents. A smithie would be an obvious choice but as they just released a small set covering this I'm unsure if it will reappear. An archery contest and/or melee area could also be added, as well as some stalls selling food and drink! Quote

MmM... I didnt think that, however it could be nicely fitting with MMV Quote
