Pretty much ever vehicle set made until the early 1990's had these or the other version which was a 2x2 brick rather than a plate. Red wheel hubs is the most common colour but there were also a few white ones as well.

Still have a whole pile of these and actually still like to use them all be it usually with fresh tyres from PAB.
