LEGOman273 Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Bitter-sweet news for Star Trek fans -- Hasbro/Kre-O has managed to pick up the Star Trek license, with sets coming out in 2013. It's not exactly fresh news, but I don't think it had been mentioned here before. Toy Fair 2012: Hasbro Acquires STAR TREK License Despite my disappointment that it's not Lego ST, I do look forward to seeing the designs Kre-O will come up with and whether they will need to create special parts to faithfully recreate the details of the ST ships and settings. So I guess we're not about to get anything like this... *Snip* NOOoooo! I was hoping that TLG would pick up the license for the reboot films. For how long does Kre-O have the license? Quote
Greedo24 Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I hope that these Star Trek sets are good quality.I got the KRE-O Megatron set and in the instructions the colors of the bricks were wrong! Oh well,I'll be happy if we get a Gorn Kre-o! Quote
friedchikenfairy Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 While I generally dislike all clone brands, I do like the little gold stickers that they put on their Transformer sets I don't know why, but those things always catch my attention. I guess it's supposed to make it look 'official' Quote
jamie75 Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 I was at my local Wally world yesterday and saw they had clearanced their Kreo sets. I had been on the fence about them since the line came out, but I couldn't go wrong with the prices now. I picked up Prime, Megatron, Starscream, Bumblebee, Ratchet, and Sentinel for about $120. Prime was $30, the rest were $20 or $15. So, YMMV, but, it is worth checking out. WM does their clearance by store, so happy hunting. Jamie To add to my earlier post, Target has their Kreo sets clearanced as well. I picked up Jazz, Mirage, Prowl, and Sideswipe at my local Target for $32US. They were $8 a piece. So, I managed to pick up the whole line for around $150. I was considering trying a few on clearance on Amazon myself. How does they fare compared to LEGO? Are they worth getting, or would ones money be better spend on one of those fancy commemorative TFs? The quality as the thing I most worried about. I have found them to be alot better then Megabloks, but, slightly less the Lego, IMO. They suffer some of the same problems Lego does with instructions with grays, dark grays, and blacks being hard to tell apart. But, well worth it for the discounted prices. Maybe not full retail, but, if you find them on sale or clearanced, well worth it. Jamie Quote
SheepEater Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 I talked to the owner of the local Montreal toysonfire.com shop. He had Kre-o transformers. I told him they just got the Star Trek license. He said he wouldn't order any of them, because the Kre-o he already has don't sell. I said, good for you, I saw them and the figures look horrible. I for one am happy they got the Star Trek license because that means Lego won't get it! Star Trek has sucked a big one ever since the TNG seasons ended. Quote
Snark Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 I'm not a Star Trek fan, but I really want that Spock Kreon. Quote
Dervish Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Seems like the Transformers Kre-O sets have landed in Finland. And they are expensive. 30689 Optimus prime, 3in1. 542 pieces, 99 euros on discount, normal price 115 euros! That like.. over 18 euro cents per piece on discount Quote
rakky Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Anyone know a good place to buy just the Kreon's? Ebay UK has very few on it, I'm hoping to build some kind of cybertron like place using lego for my kreon diorama, but obviously first I need the Kreons :) Quote
