OK, so I've heard on multiple occasions that the classic space astronaut guys were going to have visors originally, hence their visor dimples. However, according to what I've been told, Lego had to rush when releasing the theme, so they got no visors. Anyone have any idea what these visors were going to look like? Any picture? Where they even designed?

The modern visors actually fit on the old helmets without stressing any parts. They look a little funny but swivel up and down smoothly.

Interesting. I had thought about trying that but never got to it. However, I still have trouble imagining a visor for these helmets, at least one that slides up and down like those in modern helmets, because the old helmets don't seem to allow for such movement.

Well there have been castle visors for the 'old' helmets that allowed movement.

I'm guessing that if the rumors I heard were true, the space visors would have looked very similar. Still, why would castle get visors, and not space?

Probably because the helmets on their own (without visors) look more like space helmets than like Castle helmets. It's easy to just sort of imagine a transparent visor on the old space helmets, covering the face. And in fact there are some AFOLs who prefer the classic helmets for this reason, feeling the modern crash helmet piece feels incomplete without a visor and doesn't resemble a space helmet nearly as much.
