Legostein Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Hello everybody! Today I'd like to show you something rather odd. When I was recently toying around with the Star Wars Mini Set 4495 - AT-TE Walker (reference link) a sudden stroke of inspiration hit me, and I came up with a Separatists Munificent Star Frigate (reference link) instead. The characteristic shape turned out well with the great parts variety in this little set, but unfortunately the colours are incorrect, showing the Old Republic emblem and colour scheme instead of the Separatists' one. Thus I think this is a pretty useless model. Buildin instrcutions finally online! I am sorry if I confused you with this contribution, but maybe you also find the inspirational benefit superior to the inappropriate colour scheme. Have a great week, ~ Christopher Quote
Mr Man Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Hahah I love the look on the clones faces. Great it's quite a good alternative build Legostein. Maybe it's a Republic captured Munificent-Class. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 Thus I think this is a pretty useless model. I am sorry if I confused you with this contribution, but maybe you also find the inspirational benefit superior to the inappropriate colour scheme. IMO these alternative builds of yours is much more impressive considering the parts limitation as opposed to your regular minis where there's more flexibility in parts choices. So this one isn't useless and actually a testament of your mini-MOC building genius more than anything. Quote
Hollander Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 A neat alternative build, Legostein. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 That's awesome! This was always one of my east favorite official MINIs (other than parts selection), and you've turned it into something I like a whole lot better. Even with the color scheme, I actually think it's more recognizable as the Munificent. Quote
Legostein Posted September 5, 2011 Author Posted September 5, 2011 Hello, and thank you for your very kind comments! I am very relieved that you like this special creation. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Masked Builder Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Not bad Chris. You may think it's useless, but I think you were pretty innovative! Quote
LandShark Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 (edited) I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw the title, but I wasn't disappointed. I think this is very innovative and clever! At first I didn't realize the stand was made using the pieces from the set. It's a very recognizable alternate build, and a great one for using limited parts. Legostein Posted September 10, 2011 Author Posted September 10, 2011 Hello! Thanks again for your interest and comments. You figured out some points of my posting and building behaviour here... I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw the title, but I wasn't disappointed. I sometimes try to make the reader curious with an unexpected title. At first I didn't realize the stand was made using the pieces from the set. Indeed, all my alternate builds use a display stand made of left-over bricks of the original set. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Siegfried Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Very cool! I love alternate builds. Quote
