I Scream Clone Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Bust My Buffers! Well it was high time I built a train again for my son who is a massive Thomas fan. Percy was my first choice, so I will see where I go from here. Never mind the freakishly small train driver, he has a box to stand on. I wonder if I have enough blue cheese for Thomas.... Solitary Dark made me do it with his cool rendition of Mavis. Quote
Trent Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Brilliant work - instantly recognisable as Percy! Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 AWESOME engine 'ISC', better by on time - don't want to upset the Fat Controller ! Brick On ! Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Hi ISC. I've always liked Thomas for the little lads and I think you've done a really nice job at building something playful for your son, in the form of Percy. Although I see he doesn't have his usual Percy smile/face, it's a nice standard brick-built version (when I say standard, I mean traditional bricks vs. Duplo or other system). Good job creating the round boiler using the cheese slopes - in fact, that's a lot of cheese slopes. Great color combination and a nice design. I like Percy! EDIT: oops, almost forgot, I have to scold you for your image size. You get a "woop a$$" in the train shed for that around here. Front paged in any case. Quote
Solitary Dark Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Thanks for the namecheck Josh - My son's first response was that with a few part changes you could make him look like he was covered in chocolate (The Chocolate Crunch - I'm sure you've seen it several hundred times!) - I'm sure your own lad will think he's just as much fun. Seriously Percy's great and the style is very nice, I'd love to see a Thomas. My lad wants to do Duck next - Just need 64 6091's in green! Quote
22kane Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Very cool build! I always thought Lego should do a Thomas line for the kids, I'd even buy a few. Nice work Quote
Ultron Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Very cool build! I always thought Lego should do a Thomas line for the kids, I'd even buy a few. Nice work They did a duplo line, unless you mean a system one. I used to love thomas the tank engine when I was little! This is very good, by the way Quote
I Scream Clone Posted September 11, 2011 Author Posted September 11, 2011 Thanks all for the nice comments. Very cool! So did they like it? You betcha, fighting over it right at this minute AWESOME engine 'ISC', better by on time - don't want to upset the Fat Controller ! Brick On ! Good one, guess there are plenty of parents with Thomas fans out there. Hi ISC. Or is your first name Josh as well? Love the Chocolate crunch, seen it a lot of times too Duck with 6091's in green, the army jeep set from TS had 4 in each one I think, so there will be plenty out there. Shouldn't you be working on Busy Bee James first? Quote
jamesqsixsix Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Very cute! Would you make an LDD version for reference for parts used? Quote
Sir E Fullner Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 As Thomas said to Percy in Tramway Engines, he looks just like a green caterpillar with red stripes. I made a model of Percy, too. Only, I didn't use large wheels. But, hey, this is a great model. Perfect for any Thomas fan. Quote
tomdobs55 Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 That's fantastic! My 3 year old love thomas more than anything (except maybe firetrucks) I grew up loving it too abd its nice to see it with system bricks. My son has all the megablocks sets as much as it kills me but lego doesn't have the license. Although in my opinion the "duplo" scale from mega and kego are pretty comparable so I don't mind them so much in my house. I think I'll go work on a harold when I get home tonight. Quote
I Scream Clone Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 Sounds like we need to start the Thomas the Tank Engine competition soon?! Thanks for the kinds words guys. Quote
randomoblong Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Its a cool model but to me thats not Piercy thats IVOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IVOR THE ENGINE!!! Quote
iamFLIP Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 My son, who loves everything about Thomas & Friends, just adore your MOC. Thanks for making his day great. Quote
