cavegod Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 To anybody with a Bluray copy of starwars IV would it be possible to get a zoomed in screen grab of the imperial landing craft taking off when the storm troopers are searching the escape pod crash site, a few different pics would be even better, so i can then correct any mistakes in my MOC. Siegfried Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I'd be surprised if you see anything more than hi-def blur but I hope I'm wrong! Quote

Pete The Blu Ray will only be in 1080p because of the SE changes; it was scanned in at that resolution. Of course, if Lucas used the original film we could have 4k resolution, but no. However, since the landing craft was a SE addition, the high def blur will be the best image you're likely to get. Edited September 12, 2011 by StoutFiles Quote
Brickus Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 I'm not sure but there might be a turnaround of the ship in the archives disc, 8th disc, planet Tatooine. Quote

Big Cam Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 So I guess my laptops blu ray drive will not play the star wars discs. I just tried episode 4 and 1, neither disc would start. So I tried one of my back to the future discs and that worked. I wonder if it's because the disc says copyright protected. Kind of bummed since that's the only blu ray playable device I have. Time to get a real player I guess. Edit: Crap, sorry about the double post, I thought I was within the 20 minutes and that it would merge them. Quote
simonjedi Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 http://www.dvdactive.com/editorial/articles/star-wars-the-changes-part-one.html About 20 images down. You probably won't see any new details I'm afraid Quote

You might want to do a software update on your player; my external Panasonic Blu-Ray player takes a loooooong time to load them, so I'm thinking it's time to burn an update disk for mine too. Quote

What's odd is my back to the future blu ray started up in about 15 seconds, the SW discs just spun for a second then stopped, then spun for a second and stopped, etc. Quote
smokebelch Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Unfortunatly there seems to be a fair few problems with the Star Wars Blu-Ray set. Couldn't get any of my discs to play initially- my player has up to date firmware as well. Tried clearing a room out on the memory and seems to play em now, though they do take over 2 minutes to load the discs up. Lots of issues with audio drop outs as well, though ive not noticed anything on mine... Yet. Bit more info here http://www.avforums.com/forums/blu-rays-dvds-download-services/1512351-uk-star-wars-bluray-problems.html Does seem to be possibly related to the new copyprotection fox has put on the discs... Which given how quickly rips of the set appeared doesnt seem to have bothered the pirates at all, but IS making it difficult for people who have actually paid for the set to watch. And don't get me started on all the new additions to the OT... Noooooooooooooo! The deleted scenes for the OT are excellent though, some great stuff I never thought would see the light of day. Quote
