sama Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 man oh man, i like that helicopter. even judging by the crappy, crappy pics, it looks like we've got a new swash plate, and new rotors. i may just buy that, and make it fly for real. i dunno about the crawler. i would rather it be something like 8466, except with adjustable suspension, and lockable diffs. as it stands the offroader is not that good, especially if it has only two medium motors for propulsion Lego large motors (hypothesis). zewy623 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 I'm liking the look of the crawler. Looks like a dune racing truck or whatever they're called. Quote
Shasat Spacerider Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 9393 is still missing, and it's supposed to be a "tractor". The last two we've had were the exact same vehicle with different attatchments. maybe this one too? I don't think this tractor is going to be the size of the last two, otherwise its price range would be similar to that of the helicopter. In this TechnicBricks post, it states that the price of the tractor will be around €30. This means the tractor will be size of 9392. Quote

In Australia, Unimog 8110 is regularly $329.99 but the same website has it for $309. According to Lego.com, $329.99 is the normal price for 8110 in Australia. Quote
rm8 Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 looking at rear wheel and proportions of wheel/tire, of crawler i found that wheels are 94,8, not 81,6. I have 94 and 81 wheels, so I verify real wheel and picture. What do you think? Quote

I wonder going by those prices what will the price of the crawler be in Europe? Quote

DLuders Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 This link (which you passed over above) shows the "INVentory" of the 8297 set, and those of the other 4 Lego Technic sets that have that tire. The 8297 Off Roader has 1,096 parts. Quote
Paul Boratko Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 (edited) The Rock Crawler has about 100 pieces more than I thought... Actually has 200 more pieces than the 8466 offroader from 2001.. Not even 300 more parts then the 9396 helicopter and costs twice as much... Edited January 1, 2012 by Paul Boratko Quote
jadedomg Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Not even 300 more parts then the 9396 helicopter and costs twice as much... The unimog and 8043 pf escavator are the same price in canada and 1000 part difference. PF adds a lot of cost to the units, I wish lego would sell the sets without PF and have a PF addon every few years thats compatable with the flagships Quote
allanp Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 But the unimog also has PF, in just the right amount! I would not mind never seeing another flagship with as much reliance on PF parts as 8043/8275 had. Quote

imajor Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 me too + almost the same building experience and playability I'm on the other side then. I really love the playability of 8043, mainly due to the remote control. Quote

That's true but this crawler has a Lot to live up too,the most interesting thing is that it's Lego,s first rc set on wheels :) I'll Deffinatly be bringing this off roading and buy a second for display :) Quote

Unless there are some newer more expensive motors in the Rock Crawler... With the cost of the Pneumatics and 2,000+ part count, I could see the 8110's $200 USD price being justified, but if this Rock Crawler is the same price, I am not so sure. It seems like it should be a $150 USD set... Basically take the 8070 Supercar with a similar part count and throw in an IR Receiver, Remote and 2 extra motors, should that take it from $120 USD to $200 USD? Quote
allanp Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 If it comes with good servos and new, powerful, high speed L-motor then the price is more justified I think. Quote
Cwetqo Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 And the price will certainly NOT be the same as for 8110! but at least 20 euro cheaper. Quote
Anio Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 It is good to hear that this year the sets are cheaper. :) Quote
davidmull Posted January 2, 2012 Posted January 2, 2012 When do we expect more better pictures of the crawler do ye think?last year did we not have a lot more info on 2h by now! Quote
