Big Cam Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Yeah, but nobody having a penalty is better than everyone having a penalty. If we everyone decide not to vote, we've all used our only failure allowed. So every mistake we do in the whole game, would result in a mod kill. That's a high price just for avoiding a conviction on the first day. And by the way, it's called a penalty and not an alternative. We should try to play this by the rules, IMO. Where did it say we were only allowed to not vote once? I'd assume if we continued not voting, we'd just continue to get penalties against us.
Peanuts Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Where did it say we were only allowed to not vote once? I'd assume if we continued not voting, we'd just continue to get penalties against us. 11. Violation of the above rules will result in a 5 vote penalty vote penalty per every 4 living players against you, and death on your second offense. I believe not voting would count as violation, as it's punished by a vote penalty. Although I might be mistaking. Could we get this clarified, Frl. Bloodbrick? Please?
CMP Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 A random vote would be drawing a name out of a hat, but the kind of conviction that we should be trying for is one where we look very closely at behaviors and try to determine whether or not they're scum. That's our best shot at getting a scum today. I'll blunt here. Day One is the day where we have almost no shot of getting a scum. No real evidence, no night actions, nothing that can really help us get a scum. If you want to try and find one, go for it. Just know that you've triggered everyone else to vote too, because I doubt anyone won't vote when at least one person has.

Okay, so we do have to vote. At least, Bell does, and we'll all probably end up following suit. I guess we just have to wait for someone to slip up. Dried Bull Testicle anyone?

Tamamono Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 I'll blunt here. Day One is the day where we have almost no shot of getting a scum. Just know that you've triggered everyone else to vote too, because I doubt anyone won't vote when at least one person has. I understand, and that's why it's going to be so hard for us to find a scum today. However, actually looking for scum is much better than randomly killing someone. If we don't vote, Bell will die for editing her post, and so far she's done nothing to make us suspicious of her (although I don't appreciate that stunt she pulled with the roofies ).
CMP Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 MOD NOTE: You can choose to not vote without a god kill. The punishment is stated in the voting rule (#2) and separate from the overall rules. Oh. Well. Carry on with the deciding whether to vote or not then.
Peanuts Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 MOD NOTE: You can choose to not vote without a god kill. The punishment is stated in the voting rule (#2) and separate from the overall rules. So I have been misunderstanding. Well. I'm still for voting. If we waste this day, and don't get any information by tomorrow, we'll be at the same position, just with a townie less.
CMP Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 So I have been misunderstanding. Well. I'm still for voting. If we waste this day, and don't get any information by tomorrow, we'll be at the same position, just with a townie less. Deciding not to kill someone isn't wasting a day. It's very likely saving a Townie. And I'm sure we'll have some kind of information tomorrow.
Peanuts Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Deciding not to kill someone isn't wasting a day. It's very likely saving a Townie. And I'm sure we'll have some kind of information tomorrow. What makes you so sure? There's few ways to get information, the best one would be if an investigator gets a scum result, which has the same chance to hit scum as convicting somebody today. But there might be a naive or paranoid investigator, so things get more complicated, though. Then we may get information by a blocker blocking the agents' killer, but we might have a protector, so this isn't very valid. A role cop might catch somebody killing or converting, but that's not very likely either. There may be clues, but I wouldn't rely on them to be there. People would have to find them and interprete them correctly as well. Of course, there are further ways of gaining vital information, such as special night actions or simply behind-the-scenes talk, but overall I won't trust there will be some information tomorrow.
JimBee Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Creepy tattoo guy with pink Mohawk (seriously, who would ever have their hair like that? I know I wouldn't. Ever.) is right, we're not really likely to find scum on the first day of this crisis, unless someone miraculously finds some incriminating evidence. There's also the option that none of us would vote, and we'd each be given the same penalty tomorrow. However, that'd be hard to police. While not lynching won't get us any answers, we'll also prevent a good patient's death. I'm just thinking out loud here, but what else can we do?
Professor Flitwick Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 There's also the option that none of us would vote, and we'd each be given the same penalty tomorrow. However, that'd be hard to police. While not lynching won't get us any answers, we'll also prevent a good patient's death. Holds dead fish up to ear. Koilette has a reminder for you all. She says that like it or not, one of us will be lynched; Bell Bastage would still have her penalty votes against her. She and I think it would be better if it were someone the majority of us would really be... comfortable to see go.
JimBee Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Ah, I overlooked that. Frankly, I'm not comfortable with letting anyone go since there's nothing to incriminate them with. But if worse comes to worse, I'd rather be voting for someone rather than no one, if others are going to vote. I don't want to be one of the few with a penalty.
CorneliusMurdock Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 I think we'll have to vote today. Better than doing nothing. And I don't think we should let Bell fry just because she made a mistake. We don't have to vote quite yet, so I'm gonna keep my ears open and wait.
Hinckley Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Just know that you've triggered everyone else to vote too, because I doubt anyone won't vote when at least one person has. Are you not reading again? :hmpf: :hmpf: :hmpf: :hmpf: :hmpf: It is written in the rules that we are required to vote! Shithole.
iamded Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Wha-? Oh shit, it seems I got so relaxed in my bunk that I dozed off. But I'm up now, so let's do this! Oh hey, drugs! Day One-Shift Two 1. Strawberry Dust Sassy Cooter 2. Dried Bull Testicles Carl 'Black Beast' Pie 3. Yellowjackets Ali "Periscope" Perry 4. Peach Cobbler Rickety Cannon 5. Downers 6. Pot Pourri 7. Bug Dust 8. Paint Thinner Janie Beeswax 9. Uppers Imes da Booey 10. DMT Pearl Nuttin 11. Nasal Inhaler 12. Blue Bennies Hey, can I take the uppers AND the downers! That's sure to result in something exciting. Or nothing at all. Humph, fine, I'll take the uppers! Woo! Yeah!
CMP Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Are you not reading again? :hmpf: :hmpf: :hmpf: :hmpf: :hmpf: It is written in the rules that we are required to vote! Shithole. No, it says we get a penalty if we don't. It's a possibility we could all just not vote, but apparently we're going to do that anyway. And would you quite making that face? It's here, it's there, it's in the confirmation, we get it, once is well damn enough.
iamded Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Oh man, I was so excited that the question I asked came out as an exclamation! Anyway, about this whole 'voting' fiasco. Think about it guys. There's already someone with penalty votes against them. If we all don't vote, that person dies, and we all get penalty votes the next day, as well as piss off God. The other option is, we all do vote. I'm in favour of this. I don't wanna piss off God, and I really don't wanna piss off Frown-line Bloodbrick. We vote for whoever seems most suspicious, and if we can't decide on that, then we vote for the person who would be killed off if we didn't vote at all, that being Mrs OCD Penalty Vote over there.
Ricecracker Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 What the shit? Why did you kill Marcy, Ms. Grumpypants? Hopefully these drugs will help me think more straight. Day One-Shift Two 1. Strawberry Dust Sassy Cooter 2. Dried Bull Testicles Carl 'Black Beast' Pie 3. Yellowjackets Ali "Periscope" Perry 4. Peach Cobbler Rickety Cannon 5. Downers 6. Pot Pourri Rolly "Cracker-man" Crackerman 7. Bug Dust 8. Paint Thinner Janie Beeswax 9. Uppers Imes da Booey 10. DMT Pearl Nuttin 11. Nasal Inhaler 12. Blue Bennies
XimenaPaulina Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Oh no! My poor dead staff partners... I'll miss having great bedtimes with them, all of them... Day One-Shift Two 1. Strawberry Dust Sassy Cooter 2. Dried Bull Testicles Carl 'Black Beast' Pie 3. Yellowjackets Ali "Periscope" Perry 4. Peach Cobbler Rickety Cannon 5. Downers 6. Pot Pourri Rolly "Cracker-man" Crackerman 7. Bug Dust 8. Paint Thinner Janie Beeswax 9. Uppers Imes da Booey 10. DMT Pearl Nuttin 11. Nasal Inhaler 12. Blue Bennies Kelly "K-Girl" Mann I'll take 'Blue Bennies' please. Will this heighten my orgasmic pleasure? First, let's look at a list of people who we haven't heard from yet today: Crackerman (Ricecracker) Imes da Booey (iamded) Shinobu (WhiteFang) Kelly 'K-Girl' (KielDaMan) Janie (JimButcher) Skally (sok117 Bethany (Brickdoctor) Now, it's quite possible (and probable) that these people are busy with real life passed out from all the drinking, because I haven't seen any of them actively looking in on our conversation. Tammo, don't you know that each of us here have different 'sleeping times' (read: time zones), so there's no point of basing early judgment on people who have slept/dozed off after the tragic event that happened. Or is your 'gut feel' telling you this? And has anyone ever thought that the medicines that we chose will give some of us additional abilities? (Read: powers/abilities assigned randomly each day) Just a random thought that crossed my mind...
Shadows Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Ok, seriously, you're all talking as fast as a bunch of crazy people on meds! OOOH, MORE MEDS! Day One-Shift Two 1. Strawberry Dust Sassy Cooter 2. Dried Bull Testicles Carl 'Black Beast' Pie 3. Yellowjackets Ali "Periscope" Perry 4. Peach Cobbler Rickety Cannon 5. Downers 6. Pot Pourri Rolly "Cracker-man" Crackerman 7. Bug Dust 8. Paint Thinner Janie Beeswax 9. Uppers Imes da Booey 10. DMT Pearl Nuttin 11. Nasal Inhaler Shalonda Cunningham 12. Blue Bennies Kelly "K-Girl" Mann I'd like the Nasal Inhaler, please, I'm feeling a little stuffed up. Beyond that, I don't see anything today that tells me who to vote for. I could take off my brick and see what the aliens have to say, but they're usually idiots and won't even vote off a Nazi when they see one. I'll keep watching. You keep talking. Maybe not so much. The voices, so many voices... and they aren't even in my head!

I think we're aware at this point these pills have a major effect.
