Omicron Squad Leader Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 By the way, BallJoints.ru has discovered better pic of Breakout game sneak peek. Interesting. Does anyone else think that looks like multiple Drilldozer's in the third picture? I guess we'll have to recapture old villains as well. Quote
The Mugbearer Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 They are looks like usual MMO mobs. o_O Quote
Play With Fire Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 By the way, BallJoints.ru has discovered better pic of Breakout game sneak peek. Who's that orange fellow in the third pic? He looks an awful lot like an orange Stormer, but with the arms reversed. Quote
Kalhiki Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 My guess is that they'll probably tie in HRT into the game like they did with the OOF and SP games. Make a Hero, then play as him. But then that doesn't really explain what the Codes would be for if you need them to play. Kinda defeats the purpose if you don't have to buy a Hero to play. Kalhiki Quote
Vinyl Scratch Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 That new game looks sexy as hell. I'll enjoy this. Quote
Shakar Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 (edited) Hello everyone, and happy Halloween! I was wondering, what bone piece does Black Phantom use on his arms? It's red, but it looks like it is connected to a dark grey ball joint. I checked the Superheroes Ultrabuild sets, but I haven't found something similar. I just can't understand, anyone helping? Edited October 31, 2011 by Shakar Quote
Mesonak Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Black Phantom uses a standard bone piece with one pin hole in red, with a new gray "extender" piece used on the Ultrabuild heroes' upper legs - Check Batman, Joker, and Green Lantern's upper legs and you'll see this piece. it clips onto the end of the bone piece to slightly extend the limb's length. I'm sure there are other uses for the piece as well and I can't wait to try it out. -Mesonak Quote
Shakar Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 (edited) I see it now, thanks. It looks like an excellent piece, I'm sure we're going to have a lot of fun testing it. Aaaand one more reason to buy Joker. Edited October 31, 2011 by Shakar Quote

Jouster Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Designer of Thunder mask = Designer of Splitface mask ...I've a feeling you're teasing us on purpose. But anyway, this explains why the helmet/mask is so similar. Quote
Rollbar Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 By the way, BallJoints.ru has discovered better pic of Breakout game sneak peek. Looking carefully, it appears that you can play as the villains. The thing shooting at Stormer appears to have a name/player ID floating over it's head, as does the Drilldozer that's fighting oragne Stormer. Quote
Bfahome Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 It's probably just a health bar or something. Quote
Dorek Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Yeah, I can't really think of a game played entirely in reverse perspective =P. More than likely it's a status bar on your enemies. Quote

Sorry, guess I just got a little overexcited then. Hero Factory just has so much MMO potential, seeing a bar over the enemies instantly made me think, "Oh man, you can play as the villains! Awesome!" Lyichir Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Yeah, I can't really think of a game played entirely in reverse perspective =P. More than likely it's a status bar on your enemies. Slightly off topic, I've long pondered if such a game would be feasible. It'd be wonderful to mix up the standard first-person shooter formula by making it second-person instead. But yeah, that game looks pretty cool. I'll reserve judgment until I've played it, of course; if it is truly web based then lag could be an issue. Quote
Front Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Don't get your hopes up too high about the speed of the re-designs of still existing Bionicle cups. Sorry. Erland Part Design Quote
Kalhiki Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Aw, that's a bummer. Oh well, I don't take apart my sets anyway, so it shouldn't be a problem. So will it be like Jetbug, where later shipments have the new sockets? Or will we have to wait until next wave to get them? Kalhiki Quote

So will it be like Jetbug, where later shipments have the new sockets? Or will we have to wait until next wave to get them? Kalhiki I assume he means that the remolded sockets will be released in later production waves of the winter sets, like with Jetbug, which is a shame, but understandable. It does mean however that I will hold off on purchasing several sets until the sockets have been remolded, because the news that the Shadow Matoran feet and possibly the Glatorian heads would be getting a redesign at all made me want several sets I were previously indifferent towards. :) Would you still be able to acquire the remolded sockets through customer support upon release of the sets, or would that not be possible until they have become widespread? Aethersprite Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 (edited) Any hopes for an LE set next wave? Edited November 7, 2011 by Lockon Stratos Quote
Aanchir Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Any hopes for an LE set next wave? Good question. There haven't been many since the first wave, though, and I'm not exactly sure how limited edition sets are decided. I think, all things considered, retailers would rather have limited edition sets from wildly successful themes like City, Star Wars, and Ninjago, and I don't think Hero Factory compares to any of those themes in sales. Then again, the possibility's still out there. What sort of set would you want as a limited edition release, if there were one? Something like Bulk & Vapour or Karzahni, with multiple figures, or just a new and unique villain set? Perhaps even a hero set of some sort, maybe at a large scale like Rocka XL or Toa Mata Nui? Dorek Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 I'd like to see a B&V type thing again, but it has been a while since we've seen a store exclusive. Maybe they finally gave up on them, because it's hard to fit them into the story. Quote

Maybe they finally gave up on them, because it's hard to fit them into the story. That is true... most of the store exclusives in BIONICLE weren't characters essential to the story, and given how few story media there are in Hero Factory it's no surprise that Vapour was largely irrelevant to the main plot of 2010. Still, even though Hero Factory is a story theme, I'm kind of surprised that the inability to include a character in the story is a serious enough hindrance to sales that stores wouldn't want an exclusive set. I guess that most Hero Factory advertising is story-driven, though... Quote
