That's weird seeing the shield with an axle.

So, two polybags, but sadly none that have Arachnix. I really want an individual Arachnix set so I can army-build.

Seriously, it would be so cool if they could add that to your purchases at TRU or something; I'd go in every day to get a new set =D

Found another polybag set on Brickset:

Lol, I just won that from a contest lately..

:cry_happy:

SWEEEET! :3 I must buy Corehunter! One for a set and one for a revamp! If he was a cake, he would be so yummy!

BTW: I wish Hero Factory could look like that

I know that's not the topic for games but... it looks cool.

Ummm... Another Savage Planet? I LOVE Crysis, though. :classic:

The image used for the shield must be a prototype, since it has an axle rather than an axle receptacle.

It's not a special set or whatever. It's a special offer in Russia, when you buy 2 sets of HF you get this polybag for fun. I own 2 jf them and they are surprisingly good.

Though i suppose it's now sold in America or in Europe.

Wait, does that shield piece have an axle built-in? Looks like a prototype (not saying the piece inside the polybag is, I'm simply talking about the one pictured there).

By the way, my Breakout Furno's helmet looks like it's made of a cheaper looking plastic compared to the 2010 piece. Does anyone have this problem?

I had this sort of problem with Surge's helmet, not with Furno's.

Well, it's about as sturdy as the other helmets, but the plastic is lighter, and the detailings aren't quite as sharp as the 2010 helmet.

My Surge and Breez helmets look exactly like their 2010 versions. I can easily fix that problem with Stormer and Bulk by simply using the 2010 pieces, but I hope it doesn't happen with Stringer, as I never bought his 2010 version.

If anything, the helmet I got a better helmet from new Breez than I did with the first one. The plastic is a much nicer colour and the details stand out better.

The only one thing we can say...

Bye bye Denmark, hi China! :hmpf_bad:

Are these helmets more breakable? Or what?

I love how any time someone suggests something is "cheaper looking", people rush to blame it on Chinese production. I'm starting to believe this stereotype is never going to die, no matter how much contrasting evidence is presented.

All this year's sets, at least the $8.99 and $12.99 sets, are produced in Denmark, Hungary, Mexico, and the Czech Republic. China was not involved in production at all. It's a stereotype to assume that all Chinese parts are low quality, but it takes a special kind of ignorance to assume all low-quality parts are Chinese. :hmpf_bad:

Ironically, people made this assumption about BIONICLE parts during 2007's broken-joint problems, years before Chinese production of LEGO sets began, so this sort of ignorance is by no means new. Still, congratulations for being the first in this topic to embarrass yourself with such a baseless assumption!

I don't think it's a matter of breakability, since they're made of a soft plastic which would probably bend rather than break in most cases. Is it a matter of color quality? I don't own any helmets from both 2012 and 2010 to make a comparison with, but all of my 2012 helmets look high-quality, so it's probably just a matter of slight variation rather than consistently lower quality.

So mine must be just a "bad apple" then, thanks to those who answered. Indeed, all other helmets are of high quality- I'm especially impressed by Black Phantom's sturdy and finely detailed helmet.

And Aanchir is right. Most pieces this year aren't produced in China, and most of the time there's nothing wrong with made in China stuff anyway.

EDIT: Whooops, wrong colour!

That's worrysome to me because 2010 imho had the worst quality in all HF. I never liked the helmet hero quality and meltdown got ruined by bad yellow plastic. So if your Furno helmet is clearly worse than the helmet that was terrible in the first place, that sort of means they are switching quality to Bionicle-mode

Even if this was happening to few people. Do you remember this ever happening with HF after 2.0? I liked the standard of quality HF was having...

When you mass-produce as many parts as TLG does, variance happens. It's obviously not a big variance like the broken lime socket stuff was, so it's not really anything to be worried about. Remember some of the kanohi way back when being slightly ghosty every once in awhile? It's like with the system plates that TLG produces. There are enough measurable height discrepancies between every certain amount (I think it was 65?) produced that when stacked together, they are actually a full one plate shorter than that same amount of the "median" height plates. Man seriously, the parts production talk at Brickfair '08 ('09?) was like the best breakout session ever.

Which reminds me. Does anyone know what's up with Black Phantom's offset chin? It seems like it has to be the mold since it's like that with every one of those helmets (I can see it on Speeda from Toyfair). It just seems weird, and even weirder if it was intentional.
