I'd rather like they used boxes. But yes, I've been trying that. To be honest, it would be nicer if pieces that are not supposed to bend weren't made of rubber or were made of the kind that always goes back to its original shape.

Also got Furno. I think thornraxxx and Furno are the weakest sets of the first wave. Thornraxxx is good for parts, but even so, the ultra strange bone color makes it less good at that. Furno is barely good for parts, but his fire printed torso is probably the main compelling point.

I already know that I will Mod all sets, but Voltix gives me the feeling, that moding him will be eypecially difficult thanks to all his colors.

I do not know what to use as his main and secondary color. I tend to use gunmetal armor and some red bones.

We'll see how all this turns out. I hope I can snatch some of the sets tomorrow in the Lego Store in oberhausen.

Voltix and Stringer will be my first purchases. Thanks for reviewing them first, Gata!

Voltix looks great. Always thought he did. Just wish he had some purple on his legs. Maybe if they switched out the red cladding on his legs with purple?

Also, I checked a TRU on the way home from vacation. No new HF sets, but hopefully they'll arrive soon.

I actually like the red cladding, it adds a good layering effect. Purple would look waaaay too out of place. But yeah, I'm looking forward to all of these sets.

In non-related set news (aside from the movie, I feel like that's all I bring over here =P) there was apparently a new promotional comic in the July issue (whiiiiich I probably won't get because LEGO has decided to stop sending me the magazine several times now), illustrated by Damaso.

Page 2

Basically just continues the non-canon comic featured a few months back. It's quick, but the art is again really cool. Damaso always manages to put a cool spin on these things, and he did a great job of distinguishing Voltix from Black Phantom. The art is a lot sharper than the previous comic too, I think. I hope that it gets put up online with the e-magazine, or that I get a copy in the mail, at least =P. Plus, it promises a full-length comic, which is always nice. The code doesn't work yet, though.

"We rejoin our Heroes as they attempt to stop Voltix and Toxic Reapa from committing more criminal mischief!"

I don't why I found that so funny. Probably the fact that they used the phrase "criminal mischief".

There was an update of the HF website and LEGO wrote "Toxic Reaper" in the promotional video with Repea. Do we use two names? It's still better than Toxic Rapist XD but I wanted to know.

They also wrote Jaw Blade instead of Jawblade. :P I´m still pretty sure Toxic Reapa is the one and only official name.

Nice little comic. Although it's strange that it only says the name on the second page of the comic.

Does it? I can see it on the first page.

There was another comic in the latest LEGO Club Magazine, at least in Germany. This one was drawn by the usual LEGO Club Magazine comic artist.

Stringer, I require your assistance!
And so the legend of Evo and his hilariously formal lines continues.

Reapa looks much more badass than the set.

a new promotional comic in the July issue...

The code doesn't work yet, though.

I just find it a wee bit amusing that I mentioned this a week or so ago and nobody noticed.

Comic was interesting, I thought Reapa looked a lot bulkier than his set at first, his head was up above where it normally rests in the torso, and the teeth were a nice addition to Voltix. I got a chuckle from Evo's 'formal' line, remembering that meme or whatever it was on here a while back, and I thought the whole comic was a pretty good conclusion overall..

.. I just wish that darn code worked.

Story of the internet, brosef. I thought it was weird too, since these magazine issues start to generally appear around the beginning of the month, but this is the first time I've seen any mention of it (also I was gone this past week, and trawling through a week of Eurobrick posts isn't my most favorite activity =P). Regardless, it's a good comic, and I look forward to the next one (which I assume will be Evo-centric?).

I don't pay much attention to the storyline of Hero Factory.

But when I do, it contains Evo's brilliant lines.

Seriously, if I ever get around to start making a HF comic, I'm gonna have fun to characterize him. I already imagine him as a bit esoteric due to his yoga-like poses during his introduction in Ordeal of Fire. And if I combine that with lines like these, he's going to be awesome.

I wouldn't be surprised if his characterization in Ordeal of Fire were the reason he gets such formal-sounding lines. His characterization does seem to have shifted pretty radically in Breakout, which is a shame, since he had such a unique personality before. His new personality does a great job driving the plot of the episode and is certainly a lot more complex than his understated presence in Ordeal of Fire, but I hope a future episode might put forth an effort to reconcile these two different characterizations rather than ignoring the issue entirely.

Am I still the only one who likes Surge's slightly squeaky, teenager-like voice? And what's this dislike of Breez's voice about?

I like Surge and Breez's voices, and I've got a friend IRL who, sounds exactly like Surge, so I fail to see why everyone hates on him. :sceptic:

I hate Breez's general character, but the voice is fine. Surge's is fine too, honestly, I never see what the hate is about.

Regardless, while I don't actually see them mediating the two different personalities of Evo, it wouldn't be impossible.

Also, apparently there was another promotional newspaper type thing in the British LEGO mag this month. However, unlike the previous one, this is called the "Makuhero Times", as opposed to the "Makuhero Star". I don't know why I'm so miffed; LEGO is never known for their consistency.
