TheDesuComplex Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Oh, sorry I totally forgot. Speaking of which I always wondered what ever happened to Nebula's Hero Core, I always thought it was the life source of any hero... I imagine that, in his years of hiding, he either covered it up with armor or modified it in some way. If that were true, I'd actually find it very nice if the next Nebby has a Hero Core under the chest armor. Quote

Just that tiny amount of greebling would be awesome.Yeah I guess its more likely he covered it up with armor or modified it. Quote
vexorian Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 It should end with Furno starting to believe that Von Nebula is everywhere. Until he begins fighting with 5 Von Nebula clones and is about to lose so he asks for help. And mission control says: - No Furno, You are the Nebulas. And then Furno was a Zombie. Quote
Shakar Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 You know, damaged, scrapped zombie bots as villains would be all kinds of awesome. Quote
Cirkit Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 (edited) You know, damaged, scrapped zombie bots as villains would be all kinds of awesome. That would be pretty awesome. Maybe, instead there being just 4-6 villain characters as usual, there could be sets released with different types of zombie-villains, to build up an army of the undead? Like a quadruped buzz-saw bot, or a foot soldier with a 'missing' limb, replaced with a third extra arm which is equipped with a cannon? The 'titan' build of the wave would be like Witch Doctor, where there's one villain that could control all the other smaller builds, but, y'know, they're zombies instead of forest animals, and there's an army instead of, like, five animals total. An interesting idea to get the creative juices flowing. BTW I felt like using green because I could. Felt in a green-text mood today. Edited July 15, 2012 by Cirkit Quote
fabioman Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 you know it would be cool if the heroes try to use core hunter's extractor to stop von nebula Quote
Zachattacx Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Hero Factory : Zombapocalpyse That would be awesome, I guess it would be like a virus or disease from the main villain's weapon that attacks parts in a junkyard(graveyard for heroes or villains )and then the parts form what they used to be, but mutated and the heroes must get new armor that is zombie proof, sorta like radiation type of armor,I guess that the villain's name could be Undertaker, Grim, or Reaper. Dorek Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 So, not to derail the conversation (who am I kidding? I love doing that) but this image was recently uploaded that I don't quite know the source of. Damaso being a BOSS Anybody else know where it came from? It's not on his DA or his website, or anywhere from LEGO. The thought was from Comic-Con, or maybe an individual commission, but just figured I'd see if anybody else had any knowledge of it. If not, just admire it because it's pretty freaking awesome. Quote

Dorek Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Oh, I know it's by Elmer Damaso (the current artist for the Hero Factory comics), but I just don't know where it was released. He generally doesn't do the cover work (which is done by former BIONICLE comic artist Carlos D'Anda) or the coloring (which is done by a company called Digital Media Chefs), but in this case, he did both. I want to know what the occasion was =P. Quote

Dorek Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 That's what I'm thinking too, but I wasn't able to actually find it in any related area of that comic. There might be some obscure promotional site that I didn't look at, but it's definitely not on LEGO.com, that I saw. Remains a mystery for now, I suppose. Quote

DraikNova Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Well, that BP art is wonderful, but anyway, I think that Von Nebula's Hero Core's Quaza was absorbed into the rest of his armor. Kinda like a certain Dark Hunter. Anyway, I think the main Villain of the line, who for me is HF's equivalent of Makuta Teridax, deserves a new, epic, hulking build. Quote

Aanchir Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 (edited) This zombie craze is going too far. >_> I just want a underwater theme. By the way, what in Megablocks made Von want revenge on stormer? Breaking the cockpit glass? I think basically that if Stormer hadn't saved the day (which, in VN's opinion, was less an instance of real heroism and more being a glory hog, as evidenced by his assumption in Episode 4 that Stormer would never let anyone else have the glory of a victorious mission), then Von Ness could have returned to the Hero Factory with his reputation intact and the mission written off as a lost cause. Don't forget that they weren't originally on mission to respond to the drone, and as such had no way to be prepared to fight it. Since Stormer did manage to defeat the drone, Von Ness was exposed as a coward who would rather abandon his teammates than risk endangering himself. Rather than accepting his own mistake he chose to blame Stormer for humiliating him. Von Nebula's motives were not made entirely clear in the episode, partly because the aftermath of this incident was never shown. Personally, I don't believe Von Ness would have ever returned to the Hero Factory due to shame and anger, and there's no telling what other difficulties might have faced him trying to make a life for himself as an outcast. If I were any good at writing I think this would be an ideal time period to base a fan fiction around. But in any event it's made clear that in reality, Von Nebula has very little to blame Stormer for, and his hatred of Stormer is just his way of redirecting his own shame and humiliation. Overall this is one reason I consider the fourth episode one of the weakest ones, although in truth it could have covered more material if Von Ness's backstory had been made clearer in the previous episodes rather than just replaying the same slow-motion footage of Thresher running from the drone's fire. So it's as much the fault of the other three 2010 episodes, which on their own tended to be more enjoyable, as it is the fault of Episode 4 in particular. Edited July 16, 2012 by Aanchir Quote
DraikNova Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Actually, I believe Von's angry at Stormer for not letting him decide what to do with his life. He probably just didn't want to risk his life for something he thought was impossible. Quote

Cirkit Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 (edited) I've seen the two Heroes before.. on an art-sharing/critiquing site that I probably shouldn't mention by name. The Black Phantom/Rocka face-off cover is very interesting, what with BP emerging from a hole in the wall(that he probably made), with the smoke and the embers floating around.. I noticed that Rocka's shoulder-pad doesn't connect to anything on the upper arm, but that doesn't detract from the scene. And to make a quick jump back to Zombies... whoever said "Hero Factory: Zombiepocalypse"(forgive me, I can't spell it right) deserves a pat on the back. Just sayin'. DraikNova Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 (edited) Whoever said no to zombies also deserves a pat on the back and a look at some early MOCs by Legojang: the MOCs. Edited July 16, 2012 by DraikNova Quote
Cirkit Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Zombies aren't such a bad theme.. and seeing how far LEGO's come with Hero Factory, I wouldn't be surprised if they managed to make a Zombie army look good. No offense to Jang, he's a great Bionicle-build MoC'er as far as most of his work goes, but all I see here are Agori builds with old style Toa heads and Krana, and Kratta on the torso. Other than the two rubbery additions, there's really nothing special or zombie-like about them.. at least, in my opinion. Quote
