You asked LEGO for BP art and they responded?

If they actually have the stuff lying around, they're totally willing to share it with the fans. I'm just surprised that it actually existed at all; normally he doesn't do the covers, and I don't see why LEGO wouldn't have released it anyway =P.

Regardless, it's a pretty nifty piece of work (that just got updated with the slightly less saturated original, apparently, and even more awesome). Did they have any text to go along with it, or was that the only version? And was there a cover for the latest issue as well? It'd be interesting to see what Damaso would come up with then. I wish he'd post this stuff on his DA.

I've seen the two Heroes before.. on an art-sharing/critiquing site that I probably shouldn't mention by name.

The Black Phantom/Rocka face-off cover is very interesting, what with BP emerging from a hole in the wall(that he probably made), with the smoke and the embers floating around.. I noticed that Rocka's shoulder-pad doesn't connect to anything on the upper arm, but that doesn't detract from the scene.

And to make a quick jump back to Zombies... whoever said "Hero Factory: Zombiepocalypse"(forgive me, I can't spell it right) deserves a pat on the back. Just sayin'.

Thanks, that was me :sweet: .

Forgot to mention this. When I got Voltix at Toys R Us, I saw Stormer XL there... For 30 bucks. A ridiculous markup, if you ask me (isn't he supposed to be $25?). Especially when compared to Doc who was going for, like, $32 if I remember correctly. I'll probably wait for a more widespread release (aka: Walmart) before I get him.

Also, just to stay on topic: That comic cover is beatiful. Damaso should do more Hero Factory art aside from the comics.

Witch Doctor was actually 39 at TRU, and 35 at Target. I got mine for 25 at the LEGO store, with the five dollar VIP discount I had. 30 for Stormer isn't terrible, but if you don't have a LEGO store, it might be the best price you can find.

And yes, the cover is amazing.

Damaso has actually done one other piece of HF art, besides the Transformers style sketches he did... the exclsuive Merrick Fortis piece that we paid him to do, from a few months ago =P

Well, strangely I've seen Witch Doctor here for 35 euros. Ridiculous markup, because even if it would have TRU pricing, translated into euros that would be 32.7 euros.

They are always more expensive in Europe. :/

WD was 34.99 Euro on S@H, at least for Italy. And he was about the same price in stores too.

Thankfully, Stormer's and Speeda Demon's prices sorta make up for it- 19.99 Euro and 29.99 Euro respectively (German S@H prices are equal to European ones, except 9.99 Euro small sets). 25 Euro Stormer would've been ridiculous.

I don't know, I may have read the tag wrong. But Stormer was definitely $30. I guess it's not that bad, but I don't know if I want him enough to pay a markup at all. May change my mind.

And no, I sadly don't have a Lego Store around me. St. Louis needs a Lego Store...

As for future waves, I don't need a whole line for one specific theme. I liked the way how the Breakout line mixed various themes and designs.

In addition to that, I definitely DON'T want zombies. It's not because I'm not a great fan of the whole zombie thing in general (because robot zombies are kinda cool, as seen in Transformers Prime), but also because everything gets zombies nowadays.

A Grim Reaper-styled villain would be cool though.

Yes, a grim reaper would be awesome, especially using vezon's cape (or something similar) :classic:

But what I really want to see is some kind of massive set like the skopio, but with Hero Factory's building system. I mean I thought Witch Doctor was brilliant and I just want to see bigger and more ingenious designs

You've seen that too? 'Prime' was the first thing I thought of when the zombies came up.. never could work out why they(the Cybertronian Zombies) were all green, though.

Agreed. Haven't really had a Reaper-looking villain in any of the 'buildable action figure' series since Vezon. With the system we have now, I imagine some creativity will have to be used to make a 'Reaper' figure look good and proper.. cape and all.

I agree with this as well. I imagine that as time progresses, sets with this sort of idea will emerge, incorporating HF elements more and more.. at least, I hope that's what will happen. I'd like to see a vehicle made using Stormer's new feet as armor, myself.

I know, I don't get it. Denmark is in Europe for crying out loud :cry_sad:!

Prices vary by region based on the perception of the regional toy market. Australia and a lot of European countries consider LEGO to be "premier" or "high-end" toys, and the market is therefore priced as such. In America, the market perception has LEGO as something fondly regarded, but LEGO is not viewed as a "high-end" toy. Ergo, lower prices, because LEGO sets are priced to move at whatever price the market can sustain and make TLG the greatest profit while maximizing sales. That's why prices are not standard across zones.

ok, so as far as combiners go, most of them haven't been very good. Here's my proposal for something they could do for HF in the future.

Make a team of brand new heroes, have them outfitted with armor for one specific enviroment, give them weapons related to said enviroment,

give all of them the same color scheme but give each hero their own design and.....

HAVE THEM ALL COMBINE INTO A LARGER HERO, give the combiner his/her own personality, go from there.

Personally I wanna see a female combiner.

I would also like a female main villain in a future wave.

I'd be glad to have another female character at all. Anyway, if Von Nebula is remade, there's a chance it will have what we wanted: a new, larger, more complicated build and a cape. And I agree, a new Skopio-sized vehicle would be awesome.

I'll apologize in advance, but I'll have to go a bit off-topic...

I like robots in general, and although I missed a huge number of Transformers franchises (pretty much everything between Beast Wars and the Bayformers) I got hooked into it again thanks to Transformers Prime (and War for Cybertron, though I got the game just a few months ago).

I'd say the Terrorcons were rather brownish than green, although there is some green here and there too. The in-universe justification for that would be that dead cybertronians rusts over time, and aesthetically, I think the show designers wanted to emphasize the zombie-aspect of the Terrorcons.

Why does everyone want zombies? Honestly, if you need undead, I find that skeletons are perfectly fine. Anyway, I've heard something about an ice-themed wave, called Empire of Frost. Has anyone else heard of it?

Haven't had any of those lately, have we? Female villains, I mean. Last one I remember was Roodaka. It would be a nice change, and perhaps said female villain could be blue or purple, seeing as we have had a lack of those colors in sets for a while..? Just a thought.

What would you want a female villain to be like in terms or appearance, character, etc?

I see the brown and agree. Maybe the greenish look I'm thinking of was caused by reanimation, or perhaps something with my TV's color is off.. hmm. Either way, they were cool, and I think if a zombie line was intro'd to HERO FACTORY that elements from that and other Zombie media would be great for it. :classic:

Skeletons are pretty cool, but sometimes we get a bit too much of the skeletons in other LEGO lines, and it's nice to see other horror themes emerge, like the Vampyres and Werewolves of the Monster Fighter sets.

I've heard very little about that "Empire of Frost", other than it was on IMDB for a little bit(it's a site with movies, cast listings, etc), and then said title was taken down. It would be pretty cool if an all Ice theme was created, like the all Fire-Villain theme, just opposite side of the spectrum. Not a bad idea!

In response to Cirkit, I would really like said female villain to have a build that shows she's female.

Color, mainly silver, with some purple parts to break up the colors.

In regards to personality, I'm gonna have to think more on that, but I'm leaning towards something similar to CLU.

And she need to have hair, LONG, PURPLE HAIR.

no idea about the weapon yet. I'm gonna fool around in LDD for a bit and show what I come up with.
