If Speeda was designed the way Umbra was, with wheels on the feet, instead of using another motorcycle, I might have liked his set better, but that bike has its uses I suppose.

A radio in that bike wouldn't be so hard to believe, but convincing HF officials that's all it was.. eh..

I seriously would like to see someone who already has Speeda attempt to build a Umbra-like revamp of him, only using parts from the Speeda Demon set. Might prove a bit of a challenge, but the results would be.. interesting.

I guess it wouldn't hurt I accept, only until I have the set.I guess I'll post it here when I'm done, but I what to keep his almost non-humanoid form so I will give him the look of ROTF Demolisher or something down the lane, but it will invovle wheels.

But who knows maybe the wheels were speakers?

I think the wheels are a bit too large to work. Probably a bit thin, too. Well, something like you describe could be easily made from the parts of the set, but would you also want it to look good and also be able to stand? because if you're attaching those wheels to a humanoid figure, the chances of it being able to stand by itself without some sort of stabiliser are fairly slim - unless you posed him with one wheel at an angle, of course. Might look a bit odd.

ANYWAY! I hope somebody accepts your challenge because I'd like to see it too!

I might attempt it when I get the set too - I'll be getting two copies, hopefully so I'll have the pieces to MOC with straight away.

My plan was to get two sets - keep one assembled but use the other one to make another bike with - I'm going to switch out the purple wheels for the Dark Bluish Grey ones, replace all the purple with black or silver liftarms and change some superfluous details to make it my own. IF I take your challenge and like the results, I'll have to buy a THIRD bike because I wont want to destroy the Umbra-alike MOC

I will only get two if I can afford it

Besides, it'll be a while yet before I'm able to buy any expensive sets, yet alone duplicates...AND the challenge "rules" did stipulate that it was to be the pieces of one set...soooo...I say go for it, would love to see what you come up with.

No, I wouldn't say so. Maybe post one pic here but this thread is for discussing the current sets, not for MOCS and the like. I'd say just post a new topic in the forum and link to it or something. I don't see the harm of one picture of the modified set as it's semi-relevant and I'm sure I've seen a few other members post one or two pics of set mods in here, but it's best not to stray from the topic of this thread too much.

But yes! may the best man win indeed - though I imgagine you'll get a significant head start over me at least as I wont be getting the set for some time. But when I do and if I get round to it then I'll certainly attempt to take photos to share.

And my MOC had one wheel per leg ;P It was hard to build but he looked better than Umbra (it was still a WIP but he looks badass with Makuta's mask)! He was extremly posable! I wonder if a back 'balance' wheel could be made using the fan-pieces on Speeda's bike? The parts next to the HF torso cladding I mean.

Personally though, if any a contest was to roll around for the Lego Action Figure forums, I'd suggest one involving the color blue.. there isn't enough in the HF range currently and I'd like to see what people do with that color.

About time the last one was the villain factory in 2010 I'm I right?,but a new contest would be fun.

What if it was a revamping contest, basically you could choose whatever hero or villain you wanted to revamp,therefore we could use the colors.

I join you, guys! A new Hero Factory contest would be very cool, especially,when I have so many. Still, not many of us have Speeda Demon, so maybe Anti Heroes contest? Wouldn't it be great if could create alternate versions of heroes, but they will be evil.

I like the idea of a Speeda Demon contest, but I think it's still too early to hold an official one. Not enough people have one.

I'm a big fan of the "revamp a character" theme though, that's something we won't have to wait for.

Interesting to see the previews of the books. Anyway, I've revamped all of the 2012 first wave sets and will be posting my first MOC soon.

So, if we are going to make a villian revamp contest, I've got a few ideas.

1. IMO the best two villians EVER in Hero Factory theme line. They are Voltix and Corehunter Some kind of a bad duo. Voltix should be big and muscular, Corehunter should have some kind of small surgical arms coming out from his hand. I don't know if you understand but I imagined that and... I don't know how to describe it. I can only say there was a small bot in Transformers 1 Movie which was stealing computer data from the plane. And he had some things in his transforming hand xd That is the way I think Cory should get Heroes' cores. Anyway I told too much oh dear.

2. Some kind of gangsta villians maybe rappers. That's wierd but a nice idea. Once I made a punk using Krika's leg and Piraka' skull xDD That was totally weird!

3. Villian and an animal. Like in Bionicle. There was still no set with such a combo.

4. Contest for a commando unit hero. With a gun, special gadgets. It's good if you know Ghost Reacon Future Soldier game ;p I haven't play it and I'm not going to do that but I love the style of soldiers.

Maybe EB mods will consider all of these ideas xp ?

If we have a contest, please keep the ideas open and accessible. Too specific things like the blue colors would limit us (me) a lot. Revamping is not bad, but it shouldn't be for specific sets, or even a specific wave.

BTW: Today I was in my local supermarket and I have seen some kind of promotianal material. I mean this:

I just loved that and after a few minutes spend on talking with market workers I can get this for free after the promotion And it is Thursday, yay ;D
