Masta' Blasta' Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Apparently http://ROBLOX.com has an official HF Breakout game and gear. Much better than the Kre-o game from a few months back. Quote
Mesonak Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Alright, here's two new parts to our video series "Let's Play: Breakout Part II" In this first part, however, we cover Surge's level, who was accidentally skipped in the first playthrough. Surge's video turned out quite hilarious due to a certain... interesting thing regarding armor customization. So without further ado: Final part should be coming up soon. :D Quote
Jetrax99 Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 So, anyone else looking forward to prototype pics for next year? Quote
Zachattacx Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 So, anyone else looking forward to prototype pics for next year? Yes, very interested even if it is that rumored name "Rampant Oceans" (which I highly don't believe),looking at the rumored names for this series why would Furno be here thought he already had a mission underwater with Jawblade. DarkSurgeXL Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I don't think that we will get some prototype images until October or November. Anyway I'm really curious about the upcoming wave. A wholy water theme would be very intersting. Btw, I used Core Hunter mask for building a barrel. I'll post pictures very soon. Quote

MakutaNocturn Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 Could smb post a photo of villians in levels in Breakout Online Game? I mean these guys which are every where. I would like to have a photo an enemy from 1 level with Phantom and 3 with Reapa. I'm too slow and I can't catch a photo with them but I would like to build them ;/ Quote

DraikNova Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I really can't wait to see the 2013 sets. Quote
Dorek Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Honestly, I'm not that excited about the 2013 sets. I'll be stoked to see the villains, especially if VN is returning, but I don't I'll like the Heroes more than their current incarnations. Maybe if Stringer and Nex and Evo (and I suppose Stormer) get full Hero sizes, I could be tempted, but I love how complete Breakout feels with everything. They really represented their characters in the best way with the sets, and I don't see them topping that without feeling repetitive. Quote
Aanchir Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Honestly, I'm not that excited about the 2013 sets. Maybe if Stringer and Nex and Evo (and I suppose Stormer) get full Hero sizes, I could be tempted, but I love how complete Breakout feels with everything. They really represented their characters in the best way with the sets, and I don't see them topping that without feeling repetitive. Well, I have a bit of the same worry, but if anything this year's sets demonstrate that the set designers really do care about what characters they're depicting with the sets they design, so with any luck that will carry over to the next wave of heroes. The worst-case scenario is probably that we'll see heroes based around a non-character-related gimmick/theme like the creature-based designs of the 3.0 wave. They might not be as iconic as the Breakout heroes, but they should still have some character that shines through in their designs, and in any event I'm sure some of them will make decent parts packs. Personally I don't care if the smaller heroes get released as larger ones, or for that matter if the larger heroes get released as smaller ones. I like some diversity in the size of hero sets. I think the larger heroes are a bit too tall and gangly to look proportionate and usually can best be improved by shortening their lower legs by one module, but that's about all I consider necessary. I'm also curious what direction the sets will go in, since Breakout gave us the most iconic and character-driven designs since Hero Factory's initial wave. Who knows? It's been about three years, so perhaps we might see a shift to new characters just as BIONICLE had, although I hope that doesn't happen since unlike BIONICLE there aren't as many well-established side characters to draw from, and I've grown to love our team of nine colorful heroes. Perhaps we will see something like the Breakout wave but with the Heroes specialized for different missions. Surely Furno's underwater gear isn't the only equipment that can suit him so well. We might even see a new "gimmick" like this year's Hero-Cuffs and plasma guns which remains equally versatile. In general, I'm perfectly happy with what TLG has given us this year, but that doesn't mean I'm pessimistic about what they have yet to offer us. Quote
Dorek Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I suppose that's what I'm actually hoping for, is a theme; at least that way they can avoid repeating ideas (such as the 1.0 helmets) without sacrificing too much creativity. It more just relates to my interest and how willing I would be to actually buy the new sets now that we've seen these. I'm still working on collecting 100% of Breakout, but here is sort of a crossroads I find myself of how much I could actually afford to purchase a new wave. I'm excited, but there's some trepidation. Cirkit Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 (edited) I wouldn't mind seeing some new Heroes.. perhaps have each of the Alpha Team members lead (or at least give guidance to) a small group of newer Hero characters, or assign Alpha Team members just to different teams, be they older Heroes or new? I had that idea a little while ago, sprouted from a dream featuring my orange Hero MOC damaged in a corner, with a villain standing over her, gun loaded and aimed, and then Stormer XL appearing out of nowhere to roundhouse kick said villain in the face. It was awesome! And I think I want to write about it... Anyway.. The Breakout Wave has been terrific, and I can only hope the new wave will be just as innovative with character design, and hopefully will have a more structured story to go with it..? Still can't believe that the site calls XT4 a cyborg! Edited August 16, 2012 by Cirkit Quote
CabooseBM Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 It's kinda weird that XT4 is a cyborg, he's the most robotic looking robot character in the show. And where does that leave Toxic Reapa and his eggs? Quote
Rocketbilly Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I think that if the theme continues into 2013, then we'll need some new Hero characters. Maybe we could have Furno and Rocka as the "veterans" (since they seem to be the "main characters that LEGO seems to push more than the other Heroes) and then introduce some new rookie heroes to keep things fresh. We already have limb/armour pieces in some exciting new colours. That way we get to keep some familiarity with the previous waves but also get some refreshing new characters with new helmets and colours. I suppose if they go with a theme that spans both of the years waves then thee could be a larger amount of returning heroes to go alongside the newer ones, though I'm still not out of the habit of teams of heroes larger than six members (with the odd "special" member, like Takanuva) Quote
CabooseBM Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I dunno, if the theme ends next year, I'd rather stick with the old heroes. Quote
Rocketbilly Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 (edited) I dunno, if the theme ends next year, I'd rather stick with the old heroes. Perhaps in the final wave (and its assosciated comics/novels/cartoon) we could see Stormer retire or get promoted or something, leaving Furno to take control of Alpha team or a team of his own and then he could take command of the new rookies. I think it would help with taking the series full circle. But yeah, if it does end next year then I don't suppose having new Heroes would be as necessary than if the theme was set to continue indefinitely or even for just one more year of sets.
