There is a similarity between him and Thunder that cannot be denied, and don't you think that TLG would make a merketing ploy like that? I wouldn't put it below them. :hmpf:

@Aanchir: You might want to have a look at Jawblade's mask again. Maybe compare it to Fangz's.

What similarities are there other than "his jaw" and "part of him looks silverish"?

Also yeah Jawblade and Fangz look nothing alike.

First thing I thought when I saw Jawblade was "Wait is that Fangz's head?"

But then I learned how to use my eyes and figured out that it wasn't. Now they look absolutely nothing alike whatsoever to me.

Cool stuff right there with the game. It looks like 3D graphics which are splendid. It also appears that they're re-using the health bar design from CC (but since I'm sure these are early pictures, things can change).

And if that's Stormer, it makes you wonder who all we'll be able to play as in the game.

Hopefully it doesn't use the health power-ups from Creep Crushers. Hot dogs? Really?

I just noticed multiple Thornraxx's in the background of its hi-res image. So it's a beast like the Savage Planet villains? Doesn't really make much sense in the Breakout theme unless an entire hive of them broke loose. Or it's that particular Thornraxx that committed a crime of some sort and escaped. (Does that even make sense?)

Posted

Yeah, it's likely a scenario where one Thornraxx committed a crime and was jailed, then teamed up with the other villains to escape from prision, returning to his home planet in hopes of finding salvation, which he either does or does not find (depending on how deep they want to go; likely the former).

Or not. I guess we'll see.

Also, set listings on Amazon.fr. Notable details include product descriptions and piece counts.

Rocka

Furno

Breez

Surge

Evo

Black Phantom

Splitface

Jawblade

Toxic Reapa

Thornraxx

Haven't gotten around to translating the descriptions yet; I'll do it later, if I haven't already beaten by the time I get back (which is unlikely  )

Thanks! For now I'll rely on Google Translate... It translates Jawblade to be a "big tadpole". I guess it's kind of true!

In regard to the "Splitface is a combination"-topic:

Splitface looked more like a Thunder/Nitroblast combination to me, but even that comes mostly because of the colours. Even the silver half doesn't look that much like Thunder.

Hmm..It seems that these villains escape from a black hole....Oh and Evo has anti-toxic armor.

From or with a black hole?

If it's with a black hole, that supports the Fusion theory, Von Nebula.

EDIT:

Red alert! BLACK PHANTOM was spotted in the tower Hero Factory! It must be stopped at all costs, but be careful. He is armed with a drone Arachnix, launchers swords and a scepter with a sword and a scourge, and he knows very well use it! We know we can count on you! "

Oh boy, that thing on his launcher indeed is a spider-beetle thing <3

"Heroes, we hope you receive this message! SPLITFACE escaped and is trying to jam communications Hero Factory. Equip yourself with everything you need to fight his cutter, plasma pistol, a laser precision and double personality and stop before it's too late. failure is not an option! "

OH YES, BIPOLAR VILLAIN.

"Warning! JAWBLADE escaped from Hero Factory and heads for the planet aquatic Scylla. With his jaw crushers, fins and sharp blades of magma, it is really in his element, but we're sure you can it handcuff and bring that big tadpole to Hero Factory. Good luck! "

Scylla?

"Hero! TOXIC REAP escaped from Hero Factory and it was detected on the way to the planet Z'chaya. You must capture immediately but be careful. He is armed with a deadly toxic waste, clips overwhelming and powerful laser cutters. Heroes, we are counting on you! "

Z'chaya?

"Alert! THORNRAXX escaped the black hole and is hidden on the planet Hive! Dark on the planet and handcuff the evil gangster. Get ready to prevent his spitting venom, fatal its sting and its cutters and Make sure there is absolutely no thorn in this mission! "

Black Hole :U

Scylla as a term at least makes sense (ancient Greek sea beast), but I dunno what the heck Z'chaya is XP.

Anyway, I'd say the Black Hole seems somewhat significant. Hopefully Von Nebula is related somehow.

So here's what I've gathered from this:

Hero Factory's prison is within a black hole.

Black Phantom is a machine with no gender programming like the other characters (note the usage of "it" in BP's info).

Thornraxx's home planet is probably called Hive.

The Hero Factory is still using the acid resistant metal armor that they had in Core Crisis - Evo's using it this time.

Splitface has two personalities, so he was probably two separate characters that got sewn together after they were severely wounded, kind of like Rack'N'Ruin from Transformers. Or maybe he was just built like that.

Sorry for not uploading the letter, Dorek. To be honest, I forgot all about it. So lesson learned- never rely on me for anything. XP (I am in the process of scanning it now, and I'll post it soon.)

As for the new 2012 set descriptions, sounds pretty sweet. Not what I would have liked for a story; I would have liked something more confined to Makuhero City. But I guess this what we're going with, so I'll just go along for the ride.

EDIT: Got it.

So Black Phantom's pet is called Arachnix, Jawblade is from a planet named Scylla (makes sense, due to the ancient Greek beast), Toxic Reapa is from somewhere called Z'chaya and Thornraxx is from... Hive. Black Phantom's description mentions a plague which he "knows very well how to use"; maybe his revenge for being locked up is releasing a deadly disease to destroy everyone in Makuhero City? The recurring theme of a black hole seems too much of a coincidence not to be related to Von Nebula, but I still doubt the villains are combinations of his crooks. Surely the descriptions would have said something like "...a combination of *insert name here* and *insert name here* is wreaking havoc!..." if that were the case? Most of the "similarities" people are pointing out are flawed anyway. I don't think these new criminals ARE Von Nebula and his cronies, but are somehow related.

I don't remember reading anything about a plague. Was that about his scepter with a sword and a scourge? Because scourge can also refer to something that deals out punishment.

It has multiple meanings, although it is probably referring to a scourge; I think a plague would be very interesting, though.
