Shakar Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Forgot to say- thank you for your explanations about Jawblade's "derogatory nickname" and his length. I didn't think about the "t-rex=chicken" metaphor, but I guess it makes sense. Dude I knooooooow. Gonna be a large, badass combiner. That, and it's probably going to be the combiner with the most cohesive colour scheme, since black, titanium metallic and tr. flourescent green are colours that Rocka and Black Phantom have in common. The sole remaining colours are the gold on Rocka and the red and the silver on BP, and those are going to flow well with the colours I mentioned earlier. In short, it's pretty much going to be Black Phantom+gold in terms of colours. Also, isn't this th e first time we see a canister set+large set combo? I can't recall any instance of Bionicle doing that. Quote

Toa Ignika + Pohatu + Vamprah = Niazesk And Fero and Skirmix + Malum = Sand Stalker They did combined smaller sets with larger ones ;-) Can't wait to see the combination models for this wave Quote
Dorek Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Also think when robots are called "bucket of bolts"; obviously they are much more than that, but it's still meant as a demeaning insult. We've seen titan combiners with smaller sets before, but I can only really think of one, the Sand Stalker (which was pretty ugly, but still). Interesting prelim pics. That red does work for Furno pretty well, but I'm glad he has tubes. Quote

I didn't even know that. :-S And yeah, I forgot that Niazesk included Ignika. Quote
VBBN Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Wait, these are on TRU? Why do I not see them at all? Quote
Omicron Squad Leader Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Wait, these are on TRU? Why do I not see them at all? They were removed a few days ago. Quote
Nightcruise Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 Wait, these are on TRU? Why do I not see them at all? Looks like TRU jumped a little quick on them and I guess Lego told them to remove them. Quote
VBBN Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 No matter, they'll probably be back on in a week or two And that also means its gtting near time to see the summer 2012 sets>:) Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 And that also means its gtting near time to see the summer 2012 sets>:) Mwahahahahaha Bring it. I am curious as all get out Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Mwahahahahaha Bring it. I am curious as all get out Me too, but knowing TLG,we won't get pics until Feb. ToyFair. If we do get pics though, I have my fingers crossed for a)Ice theme b)Underwater theme. Bring it, leaks! Quote
Mesonak Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Savage Planet pictures were leaked early Christmas Morning 2010, and that time has remained roughly consistent over the last few years for new set pictures. Pictures of other themes were leaked several days earlier. So, hopefully history will repeat itself. I'm actually very eager to see the summer wave, mainly because I'm interested in seeing if it's going to be a continuation of the Breakout theme featuring the unused heroes in the Winter lineup (Stormer, Stringer, Bulk, and Nex) as well as a new character, or if it will be a new setting and theme entirely. Only a matter of time, now. Quote

Only a matter of time, now. Hopefully! I remember the first things we saw of the Savage Planet sets were some sort of caricatures of the characters for use in some sort of online game. Only really gave us an idea of the helmets though. I'm hoping for a continuation of the Breakout theme, too. Here's what I'm expecting (hoping for more like): Stringer, Bulk, Stormer and Nex, with some villains for the "canister" sets , a "titan" set (possibly a larger hero like Rocka XL) and some sort of vehicle based set, more than likely being piloted by Furno or Rocka just to keep the "main characters" present in each wave as LEGO seems to do. The Summer wave is always larger than the Winter wave,so maybe some larger villain sets, too - or maybe even a vehicle for the villains... that's something we've not had yet. It would be nice if a new Hero was introduced - using purple or "Mata green" as a primary colour, but something tells me we're sticking with the already established set of heroes. Quote
Dorek Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I think keeping the Breakout theme would be nice; it would be interesting to see how they keep a whole year going, thematically. It could be like 2003, where there were basically two completely separate plot points, or like 2008/9, where it all tied together in the end. And yes, a vehicle would be wub. Quote
Kalhiki Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 It seems like we see the new wave, get the sets, and get pictures for the next wave. We're never satisfied. But still, I'd hope for a Breakout continuation. And I'd also want a Stormer just because I'd like to see him in the new Hero style. Kalhiki Quote
Mesonak Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 I'd say we're pretty satisfied; it's just the fact that this IS the time of year when new pictures are released, and as such, they're prime candidates for discussion and theories every December. -Mesonak Quote
The Lego Wizard Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I`ve seen a comment on youtube that said that toysrus had the 2012 toxic repa. Is it true? Quote
Dorek Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 It was originally on the TRU website, but has since been removed; there haven't been any confirmed sightings of the 2012 sets in-stores yet. Quote
Brickthing Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I`ve seen a comment on youtube that said that toysrus had the 2012 toxic repa. Is it true? I've merged your topic with the 2012 topic, because this is the place for such questions. 4 of the 2012 Hero Factory sets were spotted on the Toys'R'Us website a few weeks ago, but I believe they have since been removed. I'm not sure if the stores ever had/do have them in stock, but they should be released very soon I think. Quote
Mesonak Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Surge, Jawblade, and Toxic Reapa were initially posted on the website, and the day after, Rocka, Evo, and Black Phantom were added. They were then taken down two or three days later. Quote
Brickthing Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 With Hero Factory's history, I can't believe I didn't see it earlier; Splitface's face only uses one mould, which is a flipmask piece. (Sorry if this was already pointed out.) Quote

Brickthing Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Wait, where did you see this? You can tell from the bag image, where the two forehead horns are mirror images of each other, and the jaw features match the top of the head. Quote
_shaddow_ Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 That's actually pretty useful, this one time. That means you can get a complete black head, and a complete red one. Quote
Dorek Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 I had actually mentioned that to aanch way earlier, but he shot my idea down =P. I still harbored the notion that it would be possible to flip them, and I'm still convinced that they are reversible. Quote
