Mr. Gundam Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 This begs the question of Stormer 4.0. We clearly saw him in the video, so: A. Would it be possible to build him now? (assume you can paint pieces) B. With Stormer and many other villains having such unique designs is it likely they'll continue the Breakout storyline? This is what I found out. A. You can! It would help if the Hulk set was release to know how to build the body and an update for LDD with 2012 parts.(I started but I can't figure out the feet and legs. ) I would love it if they make set Stormer XL. Which leads to B.. B. I don't think they would, for a dumb reason. Its too easy and obvious Honestly, I REALLY REALLY LOVE it if they make breakout all year around. The set-up for the story, seeing the stormer set is leading to be that way. But I'm not sure if LEGO is really hinting that will have a purple set (sweet Mata Nui an actually purple set) and huge stormer set. Those are things some people been wanting since early last year. I'm just not sure they would give us want they want Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 ...villains having such unique designs is it likely they'll continue the Breakout storyline? The one they keep showing has the same head as yer boi Black Phantom (recolored or something). That seems like the sorta thing they'd do as a store exclusive. Quote
vexorian Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Who knows? Maybe breakout could continue. Note how all the announced sets are rookies. TLG could easily get the 3 veterans and nex plus some villains. But I doubt it because stormer is such a clone of the Hulk, and if there is a second wave it would coincide with the Super Heroes' second wave, it is unlikely TLG would release two sets that are so similar to each other... Perhaps they could suprise us and make Stormer as some store exclusive for this wave. Probably won't be the case though. Quote
Jouster Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 (edited) Found this on Brickshelf..So what do you think? Is it fake? (it kind of looks like it's fake) EDIT: According to that person's brickshelf folder, the purple guy from the Breakout Rocka VS BP video is Dynamo. EDIT#2: 2 new heroes. :) Edited December 16, 2011 by Jouster Quote
Studs Not On Top Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 I hope that's real. I'd love to see new heroes-- a fresh start to the theme would be nice. Still, I'm really glad they're extending the Breakout line. Quote
vexorian Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 (edited) Somehow it sounds very plausible to me. I am going to go with betting it is true. Stormer lgnd sounds like Rocka XL's replacement, and quite "cool". Also, "Core Drainer" sounds like the real big bad of the breakout arc. And tri walker could be a giant machine mook that will make the lives of the heroes' miserable. Edited December 16, 2011 by vexorian Quote
Brickthing Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 I'm skeptical at this person's ability to copy set numbers and names from some list but still make typos such as "Fuhouse escape" and "Cosmis Cube Escape". The villains aren't set-number paired with Heroes as this wave of sets are, and it seems odd to have "Freeze" and "Flashfreeze" as names. Having 2 new Heroes is a hallmark of fan-made lists, and there are enough Heroes for that to be unlikely, but that doesn't mean it isn't possible and wouldn't be very well received. I'd love for this list to be true though, because it promises at least one Ice villain, and the largest set seems to be a tripod vehicle. How did you find that image? The folder isn't public yet, but the root account also has folders for 2012 City and 2012 Ninjago. Quote
Dorek Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Seems a bit convenient that we get this list all of a sudden that basically confirms what we were wanting. Dunno if it's real, but it could have potential. Hunter and Dynamo could easily be Hero or villain names XP. Although, the villains these days have more explicitly evil names (as opposed to the first wave), but still, it's harder to tell. Freeze and Flashfreeze seems sketchy, but I recall having Drilldozer and something Dozer as prelim names at the beginning of this year, so I dunno. It's always really hard to tell, really. Stormer's "legend" designation is the most interesting thing there. Whoooo knows. Quote
vexorian Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Having 2 new Heroes is a hallmark of fan-made lists, and there are enough Heroes for that to be unlikely, There are three new heroes in that list. 6 heroes again sounds strange. If the breakout saga continues, then that would force the designers not to release any of the heroes from the first wave. I don't get how he found the picture either. Quote
Vinyl Scratch Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Core Drainer? ALL MY MONEY LEGO. Quote
Brickthing Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Core Drainer? ALL MY MONEY LEGO. If this list is true, I really hope there isn't an action feature tied to that name. But with a name like that, it seems essential that Core Drainer can actually drain cores, which would require yet another core design. A core piece that can be removed easily/magnetically ala 2001 Kanohi, or a light-up core so that there is a "drained"/off state. Light-up or GITD cores would be amazing. Currently the closest we have is shining a black light on select trans-coloured 1.0 cores. Quote

I was thinking of Core Drainer being a title/nickname of a character, like the 1.0 heroes had nicknames like The Whirlwind for Breez. But your idea works too. Quote
VBBN Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Scorcher? Maybe lego took the hint and is giving us a new fire hero Quote
Nightcruise Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Scorcher? Maybe lego took the hint and is giving us a new fire hero Or perhaps a villain that uses fire as a weapon. Quote
VBBN Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Or perhaps a villain that uses fire as a weapon. Just sounds like a more Hero-y name. Flashfreeze hunter and dynamo sound more like they would be villains. (But freeze and flashfreeze seems odd) Edit; And wtf with the duplo bucket? Quote

I may be wrong with this, but I think duplo bucket is some type of Lego system for younger fans. Quote
vexorian Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 (edited) My understanding of the list (based on the set numbers) is that Scorcher, Shock and Freeze are heroes and every other new name is a villains. It does sound odd to have Freeze and FlashFreeze at the same time. I still don't get how the list was found seeing how the BS folder is not public. Edit: I now am 99% sure the list is fake. VBBN Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Actually I do believe lego has made a couple exception and changed set numbers in the past, But oh well. Core Drainer does sound awesome though, And I may MOC that. Quote
vexorian Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 (edited) I was excited about Tri-walker. Imagine a HF tripod titan loaded with guns and the such. Like Mazeka but cooler. Actually I do believe lego has made a couple exceptiona nd changed set numbers in the past' date=' But oh well.[/quote'] That's what the 1% is for. Edited December 17, 2011 by vexorian Quote
Studs Not On Top Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Hasn't LEGO re-used set numbers in the past? Quote
Aethersprite Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Woah. Been away for holiday for a couple of weeks and so much to catch up on! Anyway, on the new packaging - from what I've seen in reviews, do you have to actually cut them open, or are they resealable? Quote
