Woohoo! I've been waiting to see Thornraxx in eons. Thanks Mesonak for the link!

EDIT: Just finished watching the review. Didn't know the claw pieces were in black, which is great. And not sure if I like that empty pinhole on his back, it really detracts from the smoothness of his entire design. I'll probably use a stud to cover that up. Still, now I know I'll definitely be getting him!

Also - is Thornraxx the first HF set in the new building style which doesn't use the standard Hero torso?

I believe so yes,

And i must say, it's LOVELY looking. Definatly will be getting one of him. I'm glad lego is starting to branch out with the designs now, away from the traditional bone structure

Yeah, his entire design is so smooth and flows well (with the exception of that technic hole on his back, but I'll get over it). I was starting to get tired of Lego giving us bugs all the time, but Thornraxx is really outstanding.

Nope, I'm pretty sure Witch Doctor doesn't use any hero torso in his build.

Yes, Witch Doctor was the first to forgo the torso bone. Still, Thornraxx is notable for being the first "canister" set to not use the standard body piece since... The Barraki?

I'm calling it: the chest piece used on the Hulk kit wasn't actually designed specifically for it, and will also make an apperance in the 2012 Hero Factory line. All of the other heroes use a unique piece that features printing, and has a slightly different design asthetic - but not this one. Additionally, unless it was being used for something else, I can't see a reason why they would mold those intakes onto the mold instead of making it look more like an organic chest piece. I'm not betting anything on this, though.

Heh, if that new version of Stormer turns out to be an actual set, I totally called it.

I do agree, and the stormer looks as if he requires additional prts to attatch the hero core, into which Hulk has, so i'm going to side with you on that assumption.

But I do hope they don't decide to print the piece to give him a design of any sort. I must say, although people dont like stickers, I prefer them, because i like to reuse parts, and printed pieces really hinder that ability, especially major pieces like torso armor

Kiina.

Technically Kongu/Pohuatu didnt use the "standard" body piece either, but in terms of a scratch built torso, definatly kiina.

I thought he was talking about the Hero 2.0 Body used in Hero Factory, not the non-uses of clone bodies in BIONICLE :U

Whatever.

I'm sad for that list being fake.

I WANT A BLOODY CORE DRAINER.

Don't be sad! Prelims for SW and LOTR have been leaked - any day now for our turn!

I'm all for seeing the leaked Summer stuff pics in a few days, but before that I would like to see a Splitface review, otherwise it would be overshadowed by discussion about the leaked pics

I saw the Thornraxx review again. I love his build, very clever and original!

For those (like me) who are curious about how 2.0 chestplates look like on the new torso cladding piece, see here (forgive me if something similar has been already posted). I must say it looks much better than I thought- very exploitable combination, I think.

EDIT: I had forgotten to insert the link.

When I saw the Savage Planet prelim pictures last year, it was the day before Christmas. It kind of made some of their appeal diminish, before the Savage Planet sets were so much better. But I still enjoyed Fire Lord.

I almost prefer Rocka the way he was designed, but I think all of the other heroes (Evo especially) look better with their old chestplate and hero core color (I tested it on both of them).

Contacted the uploader of the Prelim pictures for lotr and Star Wars; he confirmed that he does indeed have HF pictures and will be uploading them soon.

Holy bloody sweet mother of God.

MY BODY IS READY.

He didn't say when right, as in tomorrow or next week?

Posted

No, not when. He said he has pictures from all themes except Marvel Superheroes, and as such, some may be priorities for him above others. But I did request he show Hero Factory sooner than most, so maybe he'll honor that. I dunno.

Still, looking forward to it.

When we do get pictures, I'd advise everyone not to get too obsessed by them. Sure, enjoy them an' all, but don't get too infatuated with a line that's not going to come out for another 6 months, especially when a new line has JUST been released.

Sound advice, and I concur!

Though it's always fun to see what's coming up, some times it can be a curse...and we've not even seen the sets in UK shops yet....I want my Splitface!!

But I'm really looking forward to seeing if we'll be getting a new Stringer - and that he'll be a "deluxe" sized bagged set...more black pieces the better in my opinion.

After seeing that video, Breez kind of disappoints me. Her legs are very long and look weird with her small torso. If I get her I'll downsize her to the regular hero build.

I'm not sure, but after looking at Splitface I was wondering-- are there two sizes of the new shoulder/knee pad armor?

Nope, they're all the same. I'll have some pictures of Splitface and some other sets up tomorrow. :classic:

Breeze has looked bad to me from day one. I mean, I said the same about Black Phantom, but really his final set blew me away. breeze on the otherhand, (contradictory to her name)does not. She looks awkward, the color scheme simply does not flow well at all, and theres just nothing about her that screams "buy me" other than for parts purposes.

But but. She looks like Samus. With... Twin Swords.

And I disagree with the color scheme not flowing well at all, Surge's colours don't flow at all.

Samus Also look one hell of a lot more feminine than breeze does, and im not saying that because shes got boobs, im saying just the geral structure of her

I didnt say his flowed well either
