vexorian Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 (edited) I am tired of video reviews, they take ages to download and the picture quality is not as good as in pciture reviews. Thornrax is great. I'll probably be focusing my budget on all the villains sans the shark guy. Edited December 20, 2011 by vexorian Quote
Rocketbilly Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) Images of the Summer Hero Factory sets are on youtube. Not sure if providing a link is ok, but they'll be easy enough to find. Stringer with blue secondary colour is weird. Core Hunter looks awesome as well as XT4, looks very much like Meltdown, which is great. They look ok, very preliminary though by the looks of things. Seems to be a small wave this time, too, unless there's more. Titan Stormer looks awesome though, if a bit odd it's certainly refreshing that he's not another Fire Lord variant. VBBN Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Edit; Pictures mirrored on my flickr; http://www.flickr.com/photos/vbbn/ I'll get some thoughts out later after i've analyzed these guys Quote
vexorian Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) - Nex: At first I thought he was Furno, then I read the name. But perhaps the red bits are really orange. He looks great. - Stringer : Win, although the gun better not be a single piece. - XT4: I am orgasming. - Core Hunter : Holy awesomeness, he looks like a dark Axxon. His spikes remind me of a MoC called Viral my brother made. - Bulk: Hope his chest is incomplete. - Voltix: Overshadowed by the other villains. - Stormer XL: Oh boy. No large villains? Nightcruise Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I like the new bad guys, but I'll just by the heros for moc parts. I kind of like to picture Stormer as somebody like Batman instead of this "Stormer Smash!!" Hulk vibe figure. Though I'm a little shock there is no new hero character in this wave. Quote

vexorian Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Bulk becoming the massive hulk-like XL would have made more sense and would have meant tons of silver. But Stormer is not as Hulk-like as in the video, it is not as bad as I thought it would be. I am assuming Breakout is continuing, is it? I wanted a tri walker :) Quote
Rocketbilly Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I wanted a tri walker :) You and me both! this wave seems awfully small if these are the only sets we're getting. I was definitely expecting more than one large boxed set. Quote
Mesonak Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 From what I've heard from a source of mine, there will be eight sets in this wave. Only seven are pictured in this video. I would assume the final, unrevealed set would be a large villain to combat Stormer XL. Opinions in a bit. Quote
Mr. Gundam Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) Pictures! Sorry just got the rules here is another link instead: My link Edited December 20, 2011 by Mr. Gundam We don't host CONFIDENTIAL Prelims inthe site Quote
vexorian Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 I am going to guess the new villain is some sort of Octopus mech with draining tentacles and tons of purple and guns. Quote
Mr. Gundam Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) I am going to guess the new villain is some sort of Octopus mech with draining tentacles and tons of purple and guns. My bad I saw your link of pictures already. Im late to the party Time to comment on the pics: 1. Nex - I'm not sure what he has on his other arm. Looks like a hip or razor. 2. Stringer - He is holding the gun a weird way. Using the 2.0 shield 3. XT4 - Kool he got Buzzsaw. That's all 4. Core Hunter - Villain that looks like regular hero 5. Bulk - It just looks odd 6. Voltix - Looks interesting, hoping for more purple pieces. 7. Stormer XL - Awesome, can't wait Edited December 20, 2011 by Mr. Gundam Quote
Mesonak Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) I'll consolidate my opinions into two categories: Heroes and Villains. Heroes: Very interesting. Nex is a let-down for me because of bad color placement, i.e. Surge. I was a strong supporter of the white being used as a complimentary color to the orange in his 2.0 form. Using his secondary color as the color of his chestplate? Bad move. That, and while I can see clear inspiration from his 2.0 helmet in his new head piece, it winds up looking overly long and elongated. He's a let down for me. As far as Stringer goes, however, I love the look of the figure. The only thing that bothers me is the blue being used as a secondary color. Not for the reasons that it has never been used on the character before (although that is true), but for the fact that, just like Nex, the blue is used on his torso armor. That does nothing but harm for Stringer. Though the actual set, as stated before, looks well armored and the design of the gun (which looks to be huge, and two handed) is very nice. For a $7.99 set, I have minimal complaints. Bulk looks to be well designed, and I have no complaints regarding the color scheme, but it looks like a very bland figure. Nothing I'll be interested in buying. Stormer XL is another matter entirely. The set, itself, looks great. But the fact that they're calling it an XL, which, if Rocka XL's precedent is to be followed, constitutes a $25 dollar release, I was hoping for something complex. This set looks awesome, but a bit too simple to justify the inevitable high price tag. But I'll reserve judgement. Villains: XT4 looks awesome. Looks like a multi-armed robot wielding a giant buzzsaw, blades, and a laser. Epic. I can spot yellow (or lime?) Raw-Jaw feet. One of my favorite HF villains yet. Core Hunter is also very well designed. The colors look nice and evil, while the figure itself looks well armored and imposing. Loving some of the recolors I'm seeing. He's a priority for me. Voltix is also a must-get. Loving the purple chestplate and new purple armor parts on the shoulders, and the general electric vibe I get just from looking at the head makes for an awesome set. Overall, the villains are all very well done in my eyes (one of the best sets of villains yet in HF, but the heroes are a bit lackluster. I'm very interested in seeing what the 8th and final set will be. Edited December 20, 2011 by Mesonak Quote
VBBN Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Mr. Gundamn, Direct embed links in img tags to pictures with the cnfidential tag are restricted from being posted directly to EB, hene why I posted the link to them mirrored on my flickr. Honestly after looking these over, Only sets that I feel are strong as stand alone sets are XT4, Stormer XL, and Core Hunter. But The rest all have some really great MOCing parts, aside from nex. He doesnt really look all that good Quote
Bfahome Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Seeing as these are still super-duper early blurry preliminary images, it's probably best not to over-analyze things like color layering yet. Quote
Ceroknight Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 The new heroes look alright, but not the villains... And what happened to Stormer... Quote

Mesonak Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) Just got word that there IS one set not pictured here. The main villain, comparable in size to Stormer XL, is called... "Speeda Demon" ... If my source hadn't been right numerous times abou this list and other things, I would call him crazy and never believe another thing that was said by this person ever again just because the name sounds so ludicrous. Be that as it may, what an awesomely corny name. Hoping for some sort of freakish half-car/half-robot hybrid. Edited December 20, 2011 by Mesonak Quote
CabooseBM Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Bulk becoming the massive hulk-like XL would have made more sense and would have meant tons of silver. But Stormer is not as Hulk-like as in the video, it is not as bad as I thought it would be. It kinda fits with Bulk's character though, doesn't it? He doesn't want to be just "the big guy", and is actively working to improve himself. It's one of the things I really, really liked about Savage Planet. And I thought we didn't like tons of silver? Quote
VBBN Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Hopefully just a reading mistake, Speed Demon sounds better x) Honestly my guess is something like ghost rider or the furno bike, But either way it means hopefully something vehicle based with the new system Quote
Aethersprite Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 (edited) Don't be sad! Prelims for SW and LOTR have been leaked - any day now for our turn! But he said that the list is 99% fake ;A; See what I told you, Vinyl? I didn't say the list was accurate anyways. Hopefully the Core Hunter will keep you happy! Anyway, my thoughts: Voltix: So he's the purple villain with the purple BP head. Looks quite messy to me, though, even as a prelim. Bulk: Is that a missile launcher on his shoulder? Yes! I'll wait for better pictures before I judge him properly, but right now he looks okay. Core Hunter: SO. FREAKING. WANT. Out of the prelims we've seen so far this guy looks to be the most badass. His colour scheme (and that chestplate) may be a bit too similar to Black Phantom - maybe he broke out again and rebuilt himself? Anyway the red on the back really makes him look a lot more menacing. Very nice. XT4: At first I thought he was another bug... Then I had a closer look. This guy is looks awesome! I'm hoping he doesn't use the standard Hero torso as well, but nonetheless he looks like a very dangerous killer drone. Stringer: I have no idea why Lego replaced his secondary colour scheme with blue, hopefully it's just the prelims, but black and blue look good together. And why is his launcher just hanging there in front of the picture? I'll wait for better pics. Nex: Ehh. Yucks. That helmet is fugly, and his build is quite ordinary. Skip! Stormer XL: DO WANT. That sword looks awesome! I have no idea why people say he looks like the Hulk, just because he uses the same chest armour doesn't mean they look alike. Even though many say Bulk should have been the one going XL - I think the huge chest somehow fits Stormer's helmet very well. Overall, nothing mindblowing. Yet. The only ones that stand out are Core Hunter, XT4, and Stormer XL. Hoping for better pics soon! I'm glad they're continuing the Breakout. (I'm assuming this, given the similar packages.) Kalhiki Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 So, Voltix is the guy from the Breakout Movie video. Automatically want. Him and Stormer XL. I'm a big Stormer fan, so I really want him. The Heroes will hopefully get better once the final pics are released. The villains are already awesome. Kalhiki Quote
Destructive Soul Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Yeaaaaahhh, Stormer XL! I had initially believed that the new Stormer would be built like the upcoming Hulk set. It's awesome that this isn't the case. It's a little disappointing that we didn't get another hero to match the number from the winter wave. Why are there so few HF sets this summer? Not sure how I feel about Stringer's random blue. I'd much rather have it be orange. The white armor pieces on Bulk and Nex, though, are probably just placeholders for printed parts, like the green identity plates from the Savage Planet line. All three of those villains are automatic must-buys. And I can only assume/hope the main villain's name will simply be "Speed Demon" as opposed to "Speeda Demon". Sounds much cooler. Plus, aside from Von Nebula, most of the main villain names have just been "normal". Fingers crossed. Quote
Vinyl Scratch Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 Core Hunter. ... ALL MY MONEY LEGO. ALL MY BLOODY MONEY I'm still gonna call him Core Drainer anyway. But. OH GOD YES. Wait, why there's only one boxed set (Stormer XL)? Quote
