So apparently there's a new comic of sorts in an upcoming LEGO mag; BZP member unknown_user2596 posted links to it.

Page 2

The dialogue is getting worse and worse, but the art is fantastic as ever (still Damaso, so... sweet). Plus, it offers a conclusion for entering the club-code (unfortunately, LEGO doesn't seem to have uploaded it yet XP), which is a promising new technique for them to use. If all comics were distributed in such a manner in the future, that could be pretty cool.

Fix'd (although replacing the two with a 3 would have been a logical step =P)

Edit: Quoting for the sake of convenience for the new page.

Rampant Oceans?

Dunno, doesn't feel to be a 2013 episode.

Something tells me that there's gonna be an episode for each villain fight.

Like, Breakout is the prologue/introduction episode, then Rampant Oceans is the Furno chasing Jawblade episode.

I could be wrong though.

I dunno, the dialogue seemed pretty okay, even though there was a lot more silly product placement than usual. The art is awesome as usual though.

That wouldn't surprise me at all, though it doesn't follow the precedent set by the HF specials. Of course, Breakout in general isn't following the norm, featuring winter and summer sets, similar to Ninjago... It would be logical that, like Ninjago, they have a multi-episode series.

Seems a little too much to hope for, because having an episode for each fight would require... character development.

I'd say that was definitely possible. An episode that showed each character fighting their respective villain would be a little too choppy, I think, especially given that there are a lot of locations we'd see in the one episode. Sure, it could be possible to fit them all in in some way... but it would make more sense this way.

No, he definitely has a darker blue on him. I wonder if his head will be a darker blue.

Since the blue is here to stay, I'm really hoping it's a darker blue than Surge's. Please, TLG?

And Bfahome you made me laugh hard with that pic. That made my day!

EDIT: Okay, is it just me, or does Jawblade's head seem way too oversized?

EDIT 2: Saw the comic - did Rocka just call Stormer sir? *huh*

I dunno, just the replacing of "you" with "ya", Rocka going "this is sweet!" and all that. I get that he's a rookie, but still.

That would require... nine episodes, plus or minus the intro/conclusion? Even if they make it a miniseries (which would be cool, but we already have confirmation of a "one hour special", so I doubt that will happen at all), I doubt they would have enough of a budget to make nine episodes, unless Savage Planet has sold a lot more than I thought.

Nice to see you included your cursor for us. Always a nice touch.

It's part of the video, being an ad for a web game and all. I'm just too lazy to edit it out or something.

True - perhaps, say, two Hero Vs. Villain sections per episode could be ok, with the first in the series containing the introduction and the last, of course, the conclusion. Still might be a bit long, though. There doesn't seem to be that much plot this time, though - even less than usual. "Villains escape and scatter around the universe. Heroes hunt them down". Perhpas that means the episodes will be more action packed.

Though if it's a one hour special we're getting, of course....it could be a very linear series of short battles, bookeneded with a conclucion and introduction.

If that's the case - sadly, my guess is that what we've seen so far with the Heroes vs villains are probably more than half or so of what the real battle sequences will be. Sigh.

Yes, like he did countless times in Savage Planet.

Anyway, I have a feeling Breakout will just be a 1 hour special (or probably a 45 minute special without commercials), and 'Rampant Oceans' will be a regular 25 minute episode in 2013, which means the winter 2013 sets will probably be water-themed. Perhaps the Heroes return to Scylla?

Oh. Whoops. Never really paid much attention while watching it.

Crossing my fingers on a water theme. Maybe they could have Jawblade return (another break out on his part, hmm?) as a recurring villain!

Even the comic improves upon the hero's chestpiece, that last shot of rocka shows it off nicely. Looks like a mix of drilldozers chestpiece and then new hero chestpiece. IMO, that's how it should have been done in the first place

First time I've notice that. Would had been nice if they could had tried that one the real figures.

While the idea for HF having its own water theme series is cool, I'll just wait for set info to show up. If it happens, I would love to see trans blue armor parts in that series.

--> overview of breakout series

-0.31 another image of stringer I think (funny they support him being attacked)

-The end of the video tells us that there is a "mini movie" online (no episodes?)

-Still no mention/appearance of Breez?

-Some minor new scenes (e.g. 0.03 - 0.09)

Sorry for the re-post if someone had already posted this. Interesting to why TLC isn't showing Breez and instead are showing us Stringer.

"This mission calls for the greatest heroes ever: Surge, Rocka, Furno, and Evo!" <- I think Breez isn't going to appear in the mini movies...Also.....I've a feeling that the one hour special will be split into several mini movies.

I'm thinking she might still be in it, we still yet to see Thornraxx as well in these videos.

If she happens to not be in it at all, then I have to wonder why they would even update the character.

Posted (edited)

Hm. If there's another movie in the summer, I wonder if it will have Breez and no Stringer. If that is the case that Breez isn't showing up in this movie.

There will be an episode, as a 1 hour special has been confirmed to have been commissioned by LEGO. The mini-movie will probably just be a cut-down version or a teaser of some sort.

As far as the commercial goes (yes, it is a commercial), I like it, but I'll be deeply upset if Breez and Thornraxx (two of the best Breakout sets) aren't included in the episode at all.

Surge 2.0 all over again...
