ZORK64 Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 (edited) The removal of various 2.0 armour parts bugs me as well. I wanted to get the white torso armour, but now I'm too late for that. Oh, I also need to get Stormer 3.0 helmets somewhere else. Looks like I do have to buy them in bulks. And I just realized that I won't get the 2.0 shields anymore either. ... *start searching for a meme to express my anger about this realization* EDIT: Found one. Also realized that even the white feet were removed. Edited February 2, 2012 by ZORK64 Quote

VBBN Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 I'll be honest, in that video i had no idea that was breez sprawled out on the chair, i got excitied for a second as i thought it was a new set Quote
DOTM Shockwave Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Out of all of the summer sets, the torso assembly of both XT4 and Stormer XL have me interested. Quote
MakutaDreadscythe Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Well, at this point I'm quite excited to see what ToyFair brings. I'm not all that interested in XT4, but the sculpt of Nex' helmet and the assembly of Stormer XL peak my interests. Quote
Darth Nihilus Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Well, at this point I'm quite excited to see what ToyFair brings. I'm not all that interested in XT4, but the sculpt of Nex' helmet and the assembly of Stormer XL peak my interests. Well, from what I can see in those pictures, not only are the minds behind the posing incredibly twisted (Evo ), the sets are beginning to grow on me. The previous guitar-like weapon of Stringer seems to have morphed into a gun, and the trans-blue torso just makes it that much better. Still not happy with Stormer XL, but I guess it'll be pretty easy to MOD him with Stormer 2.0 and 3.0, as well as other sets that have white in them. XT4 appears to have 4 arms, and while I wouldn't mind that on its own, Bulk seems to have extra limbs as well. Bulk's color scheme, as well as Voltix's, seems to be more balanced than in the prelims, and looks quite good overall. Voltix, although I still don't like the mask choice (It just seems used far too often in this wave), looks much better, and Core Hunter's back seems pretty well filled-in. I need better pictures before I make any detailed judgements, though. Quote
Omicron Squad Leader Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Well, Spieletest has begun uploading Nuremberg Toy Fair videos to their YouTube account, starting with coverage of the brilliant Ninjago summer line, so Hero Factory will hopefully follow soon. Quote

Aanchir Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 http://www.spieletest.at/bericht.php?ID=982 New pictures here (you have to scroll down to the bottom) Some of the new ones - Nex, XT4, Bulk and Core Hunter. Nex and Bulk both look brilliant. I especially like Nex's helmet and weapon. Unfortunately the pic isn't big enough to see what the two heroes' chest patterns look like. XT4 is posed a little wonky, so he's hard to judge. And Core Hunter is hard to decipher since his colors are so dark. Bulk does have a lot of titanium metallic, but his colors are pretty well-arranged (bright orange and titanium metallic on the limbs, silver metallic on his head and body). It looks to me like his feet are the same Titanium Metallic ones as Evo's, although they could be black. I'm hoping for Titanium Metallic as that makes for one less color prominently featured in his color scheme (he has black bone pieces obviously, but that's all tucked away under his various armor). Likewise, Nex's colors are well-arranged, although the white is a bit overpowering. The seemingly medium stone grey (light bluish grey) bones don't help. I don't think an orange torso would be necessary for him, but as it stands I think it'd be preferable (although my position on that could change if we get a better look at his torso pattern and it works better as orange on white than vice-versa). Bulk, however, only has 3 (Two regular and one holding the 2.0 shield), so that's better than the 4 I feared. Quote
Shakar Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Thanks! These pics are much better than that lousy video. I wonder about the torso printings- I'm VERY happy that their presence has been finally confirmed, but I hope they are unique designs- Nex's design seems awfully similar to Breez's. I was about to think "Nex and Bulk both have orange printing, booo!" Then I realized Furno and Surge both have yellow decorations, so it's cool. I'm kind of disappointed that Nex's weapon is nothing new- its body looked like a smaller, new piece but it actually is that highly detailed armour piece they used on the Fire Villains. And all those light bley bones on him and XT4- really, they could be avoided. Still, the white doesn't look so bad now, at least there's some orange on the torso. I'm kind of disappointed he doesn't have that shin armour on the left leg like on the catalogue- oh well. XT4- really, he looks great if it weren't for those light bley. They kill him...and so does that pose they put him in. Core Hunter looks excellent, and I'm very glad he has a black shield. Still, I'd love a bigger shot of him because I can't make much of his helmet. Bulk looks great too, it's just that he should have less titanium metallic and more silver- for example, on the upper legs. But at least he isn't ruined by weirdly coloured bones- he has a nice, clean, black skeleton, like all Heroes should have IMO (one exception are Breez's red bones, those actually contributed to the colour scheme.). I'm waiting for more shots of the others, especially of Stormer. And of Demon, if he was there. Quote
DOTM Shockwave Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 I'm waiting for bigger images before I give a opinion, but from what I can see, they look nice. Quote
Mr. Gundam Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 O wow, so that's Nex other weapon. Core Hunter is going to be a must buy. I also dealing with the lack of Breez set over here in he states too. Even went to the Lego store in the Mall and couldn't get it I hope isn't the same way I really like the design, happy the whole group gonna be on the same 4.0ness Quote
Cirkit Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 From what I see so far, the new wave looks good. Or at least, two out of the four that haven't already been seen look good. I have mixed feelings about Nex's helmet. Personally, I would have liked to see the part between the mouth-guard looking part and the bottom of the eyes to be open, just like on the original 2.0 set. I'm glad they kept the other details on the helmet, but with that much orange right there it looks weird.. to me anyway. I hope the eyes will remain green. The white torso is okay, I'm glad there's some orange on there as well, but to me it stands out too much. The weapon isn't anything special, shame, but oh well. As I view Bulk I realize how much silver has been taken away from his scheme. If there was a tad bit more I'd be more pleased, but I am actually starting to like the scheme. The dark metallic grey and orange work well together, and the little splash of silver on the head and shoulders makes him 'pop'. I do like that his gun-toting arm remains the same, just like the old Bulk I loved, and I do like how his lower leg armor look like boots. That's cool. From what I can see of the villains, I say this- XT4... no, just no. Arms to spindly, he's posed awkwardly (or she is, I haven't a clue what the bot's gender is), and.. no, just no. I think if I were to get this one, it would be for the parts. As for Core Hunter, I'm pleased. No launcher that I can see, black 2.0 shields, red 3.0 claws, and a solid black and red color scheme. From what I can make out of the helmet, the opening for the mouth appears to be the same shape as BP's.. but I hope that's not the case. We don't need any more recolors of that helmet for this wave, thankyouverymuch! In short, my favs are Bulk and Core Hunter. Nex is right behind them, and XT4.. no. I can't wait for bigger images of the lot, as well as Speeda Demon and Stormer XL. =) -Cirkit Quote

I hope that Bulks third "arm" truns out to be something more akin to a movable mount for his weapon rather than an actual third limb. I'm pretty sure it wontbe the latter though, I think it'd just be a bit too weird ot have a Hero with a third limb. Quote

Well, there doesn't appear to be any shells on it, so it being a mount for the weapon is a possibility. Also from what I can see, Nex's torso print resembles flames for some reason. Strange, I thought Furno represented fire in the Heroes? Quote

Snap 3M piece to the back of bulk to give the third limb more movement. Honestly I cant tell how those 3.0 Shield pieces stay up. Quote

I'm almost certain that, as Rocketbilly suspects, Bulk simply has a shoulder-mounted or arm-mounted weapon and not a third arm, much like Toa Inika Nuparu's Zamor Launcher or Furno's jets. I'm kind of disappointed that Nex's weapon is nothing new- its body looked like a smaller, new piece but it actually is that highly detailed armour piece they used on the Fire Villains. Even their official art can be inaccurate in fact, considering the latest incarnation of Furno with his asymmetrical leg shells in his official art. Edited February 3, 2012 by Aanchir Quote
Shakar Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 (edited) Good point. These pics are from Toy Fair Nuremberg while the video was from Toy Fair London, am I wrong? Because Core Hunter lacked the ammo belt in the video. I wonder why they didn't post pictures of Stringer/Voltix/Stormer(/Speeda Demon). It can't be that they weren't shown there, right? That would be bizzarre. Edited February 3, 2012 by Shakar Quote
Dorek Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 The Black Phantom there only has half a mace, for instance XP. But yeah, some good pics. Nex looks a little more redeemable, but that white chest plate is eh... Either way, some good sets to be had. Quote

Well, we only got pictures of Rocka 3.0, the Nex 3.0 + Stringer 3.0 combo model and Witch Doctor from Nuremberg last year, so I won't be surprised if we have to wait until the New York Toy Fair to get good images of all 8 sets. Aanchir Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Something I noticed that I like about these pictures is that each of the hero-villain pairs is on top of a stand with the "background pattern" of the environment those two sets will be in. I think that's pretty cool, even if it's a pretty small and insignificant detail. Quote
Kalhiki Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Still not thrilled with Nex.The white torso is too much for me. And the helmet (from what I can see) looks way too much like the 2.0 version unlike Evo who had a redesign, yet still kept some of the looks of his 2.0 helmet. XT4... Can't see much to form an opinion. Nor can I with Core Hunter. Bulk looks fine, if a little dark. And the lack of a large chest is more of a bother with him as compared to other Heroes because... Well... He's supposed to be bulky. Kalhiki Quote

Kind of like this (though I know I've made color errors): I think that suits his type of "bulk" way more than an absurdly-huge chest would. Edited February 3, 2012 by Aanchir Quote
Shakar Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 That's nice, Aanchir. Could you post the LXF file, or at least send it to me? I'm not going to use it for MOCs- It'd help me for a few things I won't post. Also, I'm curous on how you attached the big shoulders/Nex 3.0 paws. @Omicron Squad Leader oh, I forgot that. Shows how much I cared for the Savage Planet wave. Quote
