Omicron Squad Leader Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 Fake list that had correct set lists for Summer? Still, I prefer Core Drainer How were they correct? The set numbers mainly consisted of ones already used, and the names themselves were all wrong (for example, it claimed that Voltix would be called "Dynamo" and that there would be 3 new heroes), with the slight exception of "Core Drainer" being quite similar to "Core Hunter", which was most likely a coincidence. I'm still calling him Core Drainer It's fine. I actually prefer the name "Core Drainer" too, but if he's a Core hunter I guess I will be able to decorate him with the spare Cores that come with the villains; I think the white will complement him well! Well, he does come with a Rocka ammo belt, so it shouldn't be that hard to acquire two and make him a bandolier with Hero cores from the villains, as well as from the Heroes. I do wub that mask though, reminds me of my beloved Inika. Quote
MakutaDreadscythe Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 You know what's really surprising? Stormer XL actually looks GOOD! Quote
nuparu51 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 And for the first time, I will buy multiples. Core Hunter army is on the way. Quote
ZORK64 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 As far as I can tell, I'll definitely get Stormer XL (simply because he's white but most likely not as expensive as Witch Doctor - also, blue swords are WIN) and Stringer (because of various cool-looking pieces). XT4 and Voltix look like good part packs, though I'm not too interested into Voltix. My only real complaint about Nex would be his helmet. The 2.0 helmet doesn't look as good in one solid colour as Evo's does. Bulk looks fine, but I'm not totally sure if I'll get him. Currently, I'm still unsure on Core Hunter/Drainer/whatever. I guess I need a review to judge him properly. Quote
optimus99 Posted February 9, 2012 Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) OK now that I have seen his creepy face core hunter is a must buy. Edited February 9, 2012 by optimus99 Quote
Studs Not On Top Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Core Hunter looks awesome, I would definitely pick him up if my brother hadn't called dibs first. Looks like System parts are still being used. Anyone else notice the harpoon gun on Nex's shoulder? Quote
optimus99 Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I would definitely pick him up if my brother hadn't called dibs first. That's another reason why i'm not getting bulk. Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 That wasn't the preliminary name; it was from a fake list of summer sets. But speaking of preliminary names, Target still stocks Black Phantom under the name Overlord. Quote
davidr Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Looks like System parts are still being used. Anyone else notice the harpoon gun on Nex's shoulder? Wow I didn't see it before. That would be great if they will use more system parts. I'm still calling him Core Drainer Core Hunter isn't official yet (I think so at least :D ), they still can change it if you will spam it to TLG enough. Quote
davidr Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I had to double post to get these 5 posts so I can post (am I repeating myself? ) links... Anyway: Pretty good screenshot of Nex and XT4 XT4 has some new part even to hold his laser and claws Nex has shorter torso (I think that noone pointed to it yet) and that printing looks like white scratches. And his helmet is really different from his 2.0, but it looks a lot like 2.0! Core Hunter Bulk Quote

It's hard to see anything in that movie from Toy Fair. Core Hunter looks awesome! But if he was really Core Hunter as says his name, he would be more like XT4. More like a predator. Now he is so big and overpieced! He is still a nice set. I was astonished when I saw his mask. Nex looks like a Bionicle figure! I don't know how but this mask looks really like from Bionicle! XT4 will be nice for MOCs! Or revamps. Yeah, I've got an idea of revamp. Edited February 10, 2012 by MakutaNocturn Quote
Shakar Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 (edited) Thanks for the screenshots. Nex having the small torso is a good thing, as it's a sign of continuity from his 2.0 form (the 3.0 Heroes all had the wide shoulder torso, except Rocka and Bulk). Actually, so far, all Breakout Heroes kept the torso they had in their 2011 debut forms, except Evo and Bulk. Bulk definitely switched to a wide shoulder torso, which is without a doubt a good thing. The one who remains ambiguous is Stringer- he looks like he has the narrow shoulders torso, which I wouldn't mind (then again, I'm the one who changed almost all the torsos of his Heroes). Nevermind, he definitely has narrow shoulders. So it's like this: Wide shoulders: Breez (eh), Furno, Surge, Bulk. Narrow shoulders: Rocka, Evo, Stringer, Nex. I guess Stormer uses the large torso. I doubt he has a custom one or a new piece. XT4's laser shooter isn't a single new piece like I had previously thought- rather, it's two old pieces attached together: a 3M shell and one of those pieces. Once again, HF sets incorporate System pieces in creative ways! Forgot to add- at the risk of sounding like Captain Obvious, XT4 has a new torso. No doubt about that. The Mugbearer Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 I don't like almost anyone, excepts Stormer XL and, Stringer 4.0 and, especially, Core Hunter. Quote
Poison Ivy Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Did anyone else notice that XT4 and Nex have lightsabers? Bad SW reference in HF is bad. Quote

Poison Ivy Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Uh, they look like they're just lasers. XT4's might be, since it has no hands to speak of, but Nex's is most definitely a lightsaber or something similar, since he is holding it like a sword, in his hand. Quote

Darth Nihilus Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Looks more like a blaster for me. I have to agree with Vinyl here, it doesn't look like a lightsaber to me any more than Stormer's sword looks like one. Quote

Nex has no hands- his weapons are directly attached to the forearms. You could argue the lasers can be used as swords, but I doubt that is their main purpose.Nex 2.0 had one hand, 3.0 had two and this one has none. Oh the irony. CabooseBM Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 Man, I can't wait for all the extra hero pieces in this wave, well, after I make Breakout style weapons packs for my old heroes. And the villains. I love the villains this year. Quote

Aanchir Posted February 10, 2012 Posted February 10, 2012 XT4's might be, since it has no hands to speak of, but Nex's is most definitely a lightsaber or something similar, since he is holding it like a sword, in his hand. As I see it, he has no hand on that arm, and instead has an arm-mounted laser gun. I can't fathom how it even remotely resembles a lightsaber except by virtue of being long, transparent, and glowy. The same goes for XT4, who has it mounted between two claws on his hand, rather than holding it. Speaking of which, I just noticed what pieces he uses for that claw-- mighty clever! Quote
