I love the red 7938 train so much I had to try to create a white one.

It's almost finished, just need to order a few little pieces..

yes please more pictures!!!

Love the look of the white version and can't believe I hadn't thought of doing that myself!!

Great Job!!

I really like it. Sometimes a set totally changes when the color is different. I changed the yellow 7939 in red and you made a wonderful choice to make a white 7938!

Super!

If you gave a single coloured line (blue?) running front to back it would be finished

The white looks great.

The only improvement I can think of would be to recolor the undercarriage. In the original it was white, while the rest of the train is white the original white should be gray IMHO.

Thanks for the replies :sweet:

Some more (bigger) picures beneath..

The train is for 98% finished, need to add some gray 'roof tiles with lattice' on the roof and a few 1x4 black arch bricks.

Hope they become available at LEGO PAB soon..

Regards, Marco.

I really like this model of yours, MAWEK. You have done a great job recoloring the 7938, and I wish LEGO would release something like this. I do think a colored stripe down the side would look nice, though.

That does work well. I'd been thinking about it but now you've shown it's worth doing......

You mentioned using PAB for your parts. Do you know about Bricklink?

Your images are too huge. I had removed the deeplinks and convert it to links only.

Meanwhile, please refer to this tutorial and resize them accordingly. Thanks.

Sorry for the inconvenience, I resized the images.

Great job recoloring this train 'MAWEK LEGO'. It looks awesome in white. The blue does sound like a good suggestion, throw a little contrast in there. Either way, still better looking then the original default_classic.gif

The blue line idea sounds great, i'm going to work on that.

Thank you all for the great ideas and comments..

Every train needs an odd-coloured stripe, it makes it go 25% faster with 72% more awesome.

Another example from DK this time: the DSB's IC4 - although very funky equally unsuccessful unfortunately...

I agree with the blue line. it will break up the plain white. and thats the best part with legos, try it if it dosent work. change it. or change it back.... :)

Wow, I really like this! I don't have any trains (if I did get one, 7938 would be it), but I like it in white much better. I see a possible mod in my future... after I get the train, of course!

you should add another line without white.

red train has a white line at bottom.

white train should have red-blue i don't know but there is a differnt colour line missing in your project.

but it looks good i must admit that.bravo

I had some time to experiment with the color line..

The car with the double red striping looks the best, in my opinion. The blue line should be darker blue.....so the color is more powerfull..

I'm curious to the endresult!!

I would like to see a car with a dark blue or normal blue line. Red is also good, but I've seen many trains with just that red line.
