Peanuts Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Strange, who steals a microwave from the police station? I suppose there has to be more behind this. And about the password, I'd suggest to the others to take candle, as you can use it to light the others, isn't it?
Professor Flitwick Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 He went to Dartmouth. Inside the cabinets are files on all police officers. In the other is a locked briefcase. May I read these? Out loud, if possible. Strange, who steals a microwave from the police station? I suppose there has to be more behind this. And about the password, I'd suggest to the others to take candle, as you can use it to light the others, isn't it? "Hmm... I'd say you light the match first, then use it to light the rest. But it's not an option, so..."
CorneliusMurdock Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Maybe the Chief was having money trouble and had to sell the microwave. Do any of the police officers including Officer Patterson know if the microwave was the Chief's or if it was police property?
badboytje88 Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I'd like to check the files in the file cabinet in the chiefs room too. Plus I would like to search for a key to the briefcase or a way to force it to open.
Fugazi Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I've tried as hard as I can and can only recall one incident in which I would have gotten a record. A long while back, I punched the Chief in the face. I was perfectly justified but it wasn't my proudest moment. It was so long ago I didn't think it was worth mentioning. But there certainly can't be anything else in there about me. I'm a model citizen. Indeed, you were charged with assault on a Police Officer, but the charges were eventually dropped. My dad has done a crime, and hes not proud of me . I would like to know when my dad did the crimes and what were they As for you, you were found in possession of illegal narcotics. No wonder your dad wasn't proud of you! Jeremy was charged with disturbing the peace with loud music past bedtime, nothing very worrying. On the desk are a few pictures, the most notable are one of the Chief and the Mayor, one of the Chief and his wife, and one of the Chief in his old uniform. Also on the desk is a computer, a coffee mug, and a bowl of candy. There are office supplies, such as pens and paper inside his desk. Candy? I would like to empty the bowl and make sure nothing else is found in it. There is indeed a password. There is also a sheet of paper stuck to the computer that reads: "Password Reminder: When one enters a cold dark room with one match, what is the first thing they must light? A candle, an oil lamp, or an oil heater?" You may only enter an answer once, so choose wisely. Definitely the match. Disregard the choices.
CMP Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Definitely the match. Disregard the choices. That's what I was thinking. AHA. So I was right about the microwave. I'm gonna chalk that down as Clue # 1. Maybe his microwave had something suspicious in it? I'd like to ask the officer downstairs if he's seen anybody with a microwave lately.
ADHO15 Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Jeremy was charged with disturbing the peace with loud music past bedtime, nothing very worrying. Hehe. Some tunes you just gotta play loudly to really appreciate. It seems we ain't having a whole lotta luck with this investigation. The microwave situation sounds odd. I'd like to ask the cops here what they know about the microwave.
CorneliusMurdock Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Indeed, you were charged with assault on a Police Officer, but the charges were eventually dropped. If that's the only charge, what did Officer Hutch mean by "James Swanson has a couple of records on his name."?
CMP Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 I'd also like th eopen up the picture frames, and check for hidden notes and such.
Fugazi Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 If that's the only charge, what did Officer Hutch mean by "James Swanson has a couple of records on his name."? I believe it was a simple mistake, the other record was actually your son's. By curiosity, how did you ever end up punching the Chief? Were you both drunk or what?
CorneliusMurdock Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Long story short. My wife had a brain tumor and it affected her behavior. McGovern took advantage of this one night when he was drunk. I punched him. She succumbed to the disease a short while later. It was long ago and I've moved on with my life. Honestly, I try not to think of it. It was a dark period in my life. Since then, I've thrown myself into my work, teaching others to stay healthy and active. Sadly I've never been able to teach Robbie about being healthy. I'm very disappointed in you, son. I thought we raised you right. You're body is a temple, don't taint it with drugs.
Bob Posted September 22, 2011 Author Posted September 22, 2011 May I read these? Out loud, if possible. Lexington Police Department: Officer Files: Deputy Chief Jackie Scott Notes: Officer Scott is a highly motivated and dedicated officer. She has ascended the ranks quickly due to her achievements and abilities throughout her job. I believe she will make a fine Chief when I decide to retire. Officer Steven Jackson Notes: Officer Jackson has served on the police force for several years, however he still lacks the capability to stick to the rules. He's constantly let arrested criminals go upon hearing their stories, and sympathizing with them. It is because of this that he will likely never become Deputy Chief as long as I am in charge of this police force. Officer Ryan Hutch Notes: Officer Hutch is our traffic officer, and has accumulated quite a bit of revenue through tickets. He is a dedicated and loyal officer who views the LPD Guidelines Book as his Bible. Officer Hutch will make a fine candidate for Chief one day, however he is not first in line due to his strictness and literal adherence to the rules. I'd like to check the files in the file cabinet in the chiefs room too. Plus I would like to search for a key to the briefcase or a way to force it to open. There is no key, and there is also no way to force the case open without the key. Candy? I would like to empty the bowl and make sure nothing else is found in it. Definitely the match. Disregard the choices. Deputy Chief Scott dumps the candy onto the desk, but there's only candy in the bowl. That's what I was thinking. AHA. So I was right about the microwave. I'm gonna chalk that down as Clue # 1. Maybe his microwave had something suspicious in it? I'd like to ask the officer downstairs if he's seen anybody with a microwave lately. "It broke. The Chief ordered a new one online." I'd also like th eopen up the picture frames, and check for hidden notes and such. There's nothing in the picture frames except for the pictures. "What have we decided to use for the password?" The Mayor pokes his head into the Chief's Office. "The sun is starting to set, please finish up your investigations quickly." There is just a bit over two hours left in Chapter One.
Sisco Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 "Hm. Is anyone else finding the police officers suspicious now? All that talk of succession to Chief in the files made me suspicious..."
CMP Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 I'd like to enter match as the password. Move over sis, I live for computers.
K-Nut Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Move over sis, I live for computers. No, you live for Star Trek.
CMP Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 No, you live for Star Trek. Which wouldn't be possible without computers. And I am a meteorologist, I know plenty about computers.
Bob Posted September 22, 2011 Author Posted September 22, 2011 I'd like to type in 'match' as the password. I'd like to enter match as the password. After a fight over the keyboard, the word 'match' is entered. It is a success, and the computer is unlocked.
Brickdoctor Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 In order to navigate the computer, I look to see what OS it runs.
Bob Posted September 22, 2011 Author Posted September 22, 2011 In order to navigate the computer, I look to see what OS it runs. The Chief loved technology, so it runs on Windows 7.
Bob Posted September 22, 2011 Author Posted September 22, 2011 The sun soon set on the townspeople, and they dispersed for the day, going back to their homes. They felt like they accomplished something today, and looked forward to what tomorrow would bring. However, evil is still afoot, and everyone knows they will have to sleep with one eye open, just in case. Not that the townsfolk will be doing much sleeping. If you want to send in an action, you're more than welcome to. Here's a copy of the rule in case you forgot it/are to lazy to look back: 9. There are no night actions or chapter actions. However, there are Miscellaneous Actions. With this system, if you’d like to PM me a non-lethal action (I.E; “I’d like to go visit Player A”), then that’s fine. However, things that could harm people (I.E; “I’d like to go kill Player A”) are not allowed. These are only allowed at night. Night comes at the end of every chapter. I’ll allow most anything, so let your imaginations go wild. However, you can’t leave Lexington. That is not a valid action. This can now be locked, please.
